  • Can I just ask something? Thomas Monson goes to a basketball game, and it turns into religion wars on YouTube? Can there ever just be a video with positive comments? He just came to watch the game

  • Who is this dude? As everyone in the stadium is saying...

  • Get the heck off the court old man!

  • @jlc19701 You get off, hating-nerd.

  • i was at that game!

  • i was at the game!

  • I wonder if prophesized the winning of the game and won some cash! haha

  • That was cool...I will trust him 100% over our current US President anyday!

  • im not mormon but i feel that this guy is are nice person..

  • thats one crazy mormon

  • I love how everyone who sees him stands up

  • Swept by the Lakers.

God's punishment for the Utah Jazz fan's classless conduct.

  • You'd be hard-pressed to find a bad person in the LDS religion. But, honestly, how guillable are these people. If every Mormon knew how to do critical thinking, the LDS Church would turn to dust. Joseph Smith was sadly a liar, and it has led to a mass cult-like conformity of these modern-day "Prophets" who are only interested in one thing: $

  • Mitt Romney Will be PresiDent of the USA in 2013.........

  • @FireYourJOB I sure hope you're wrong. And I don't even care that he's Mormon; he'd be a horrible president.

  • @dsharpshooter87

    He'd be a 100% Better than OBBammster...........

  • estoy deacuerdo contigo dude8001 gracias por subir el video y saber un pokito lo ke hace nuestro precidente en sus ratitos libres.....desde monterrey mexico

  • did you see all those guards? (men wearing suits looking around)

  • those guards are guarding our prohet..

  • yeah i know XD

  • ohh...lol

  • I love President Monson, and I love how Jerry Sloan was like who was that? haha, little does he know he's a big icon in Utah...good 'ol Sloan...but gotta love President Monson

  • Haha...I like how he bumps into Millsap! Show em who's Boss. I bet Monson could dunk over Millsap in his younger days!

  • Now i know why i'm a Golden State \Warriors fan

  • You betcha. We believe that he is the only living prophet here on the earth today.

  • @sjadixie and we belive your an idiot. lord forgive me. dixie follow jesus christ

  • @sjadixie YOur belief is misguided. Joseph Smith was a false prophet and so is your president, although we would be better off with him as president of the USA than that traitorous devil Obama

  • So Mormons believe this man at the Jazz game is the living prophet of God?

  • Yes he is a Prophet. God does nothing but he reveals his will to his servants the Prophets. (Amos 3:7) Do you think God would treat his children today any different from in times past?

  • Well, when I think of a prophet I think of a bearded man who spends all his time fully immersed in study, counseling, prayer and helping others, not spending night out catching the Jazz game.

In the particular denomination of my faith, the idea of any of our religious leaders at an NBA basketball game would be truly scandalous. I myself have been and am not entirely proud of that. We regard a place like an NBA game as an impure environment with enormous immodesty.... the dancers anyone?

  • That all being said, I can only admire and appreciate conservative, Biblical values of the LDS, who it otherwise seems to try to avoid secularism and secular culture, and loves my people.

  • Well, I suppose in ancient times, Prophets may have had beards, but today they're more likely to be clean shaven with a conservative suit. President Monson spends most of his time directing the work of the Lord but enjoys sport and occasionally finds time to come and watch a Jazz game. Prophets are human just like the rest of us. They have families, they get hungry, they get tired, they have likes and dislikes.etc.

  • If you don't mind me asking, what faith and denomination are you?

  • I don't mind at all. I am Jewish and identify with Haredi Judaism, a denomination usually referred to in the media as 'ultra-Orthodox.'

We revere the leaders of our nation, holy rabbis and sages known as 'gedolei Yisrael' as having ruach hakodesh, divine inspiration, though we wouldn't quite call it prophecy. These men do typically have long beards and don't really wear modern clothing.

Secular culture, like movies, television, internet (ooops!), sports games, are shunned in our communities.

  • If you are Jewish, tell me, why won't you guys build the temple in Jerusalem already? Just go in there, tear down the Dome of the Rock and build the Temple already (so Jesus can come, and not only let you know he's the real Messiah, but that Mormons have true prophets)

  • We're actually working on it, friend.... :)

We believe the third and eternal Temple will be there very, very soon and that the real Messiah will indeed come, who will be a righteous king from the House of David, and a man of flesh and blood.

At that time all my people will merit to be back in our Holy Land, with our priests and Levites in the Temple, and all humanity will seek to know the one true God of Israel.

In the meantime, may Jew and LDS love one another, and all people.

    God bless.

  • Thank you for that? Do you believe that Messiah ben Joseph will precede Messiah ben Judah? Do you believe that Elijah has come or is coming in the future?

When the Temple is built what ordinances will you perform in the Temple?

God Bless You and all Jewish and Israelite People as you prepare for the coming/return of the Messiah with the wounds in His hands. (Zechariah 13:6)

  • We believe Mashiach ben Yosef will indeed begin the work of the redemption and bring back the exiles, uniting them with Yehuda. He will be killed and then Mashiach ben David (from Yehuda) will complete the task of messianic redemption initiated and will then become king Messiah over all Israel.

We do believe in fact Eliyahu (Elijah) will herald the coming of the Messiah. We symbolically welcome him into our lives on other occasions though, at the Passover seder and at the brit milah ceremony.

  • As far as the ordinances, the mainstream view is that they'll be similar to the way they were during the first two temples. See the book of Leviticus and Numbers for a treatment of our holy offerings brought in the Tabernacle and then later the Temple.

To this day, the priests of our people, the direct patrilineal descendants of Aaron the High Priest, still keep the special laws assigned to them so that they can be ready at a moment's notice to resume their duties in the Temple.

  • Adam, I have wonderful news for you. Mashiach ben Yosef has come! He was born December 23, 1805 in New York State as Joseph Smith. His father's name was Joseph and he was a descendant of Joseph through his son Ephraim. He was given the priesthood authority of both Aaron and Melchizedek and began the work of redemption and restoration and of uniting scattered Israel with Yehuda. He was killed at the hands of lawless men along with another man, his brother Hyrum.

  • I agree on the Jew and LDS love one another, after all

"This is my greatest commandment, that ye love one another even as unto yourselves". I'll respect anyones faith if the yrespect mine.

  • its true that they do. But sorry i just have a pesky need to correct you

I think it was Love God as his greatest commandment, was it not? I might be wrong. but just lettin you know ;-)

  • ya i actually figured that after I read the scripture again, it says love me first, than thy neighbor, you are right haha

  • :P had a nudge

  • @BrianTerrill Mormon "prophets" have made false prophecies thus they are false prophets and not of God.

  • Comment removed

  • I wonder what he does on Super Bowel Sunday lol I bet the brethren get sick and eat a bunch of pork rinds in front of a big tv lol I love pres Monsen...I can wiggle my ears just like he does

  • Ha thats great

  • Haha Monson has got a paparazzi! He is an amazing!!

  • I thank thee o god for a such a prophet

  • Is ignorance bliss? I've always wondered....

  • enough w/ the flippin hatin!!!! you guys are so immature!

  • @hyphywifeychica YEAH, enough with hating! Those people need some love from God. The love is pure and powerful.

  • you were never even a mormon my friend. stop trying to fool us. Satan works within you to bring down the kingdom of God. how do you feel about that. May God be with you and lead the to the path of righeousness and deliver the from temptation, in his holy name!

  • เรารักศาสดา

  • I am having doubts as a mormon if the church is even true anymore. I was removed from my mission after serving a year and a half by the mission president for self abuse. When I pray I wonder if Heavenly Father and mother are even listening to me.

  • Chances are, correct me if I am wrong, but you are being chastised for even having doubts. The church once said something to the effect of ...What we know is true, and what is true has the ability to stand up against criticism... yet when a member begins to question, they are seen as in the beginning stages of apostacy. it's total control by authority.

  • You are never chastised for having doubts. Our religion has been built on doubts. Joseph Smith had doubts and he prayed and look what happened. I have had very hard struggles in my life and I have felt that Heavenly Father wasn't listening, but I just continued to pray and came to realize that He was truly listening. Everything is on His time. My advise is to continue to pray with a sincere , contrite heart. You will be answered.

  • I am leaving the church and no longer believe JS is a true prohet of God, I have requested a bishops court. I want the record to show that I was not excommunicated.

  • Stop talking about it and do it.

  • I have done it, I left the church and I am now free. I asked jesus to be my lord and savior. I am so happy now, I can have a relationship with God without Joseph Smith and the mormon church.

I renounce the book of mormon, I renounce the priesthood, I renounce mormonism. I am free. Praise God!!! JS is a false prophet.

  • Then what do you believe in? What teaches you, and brings you closer to the savior?

  • I am a Christian Now, Jesus is my Lord and Savior, he has forgiven me. I believe in the bible, I believe that way before JS came into the picture in 1820 with his first vision that God had a divine book of revelation. I believe the bible has a test for a prophet, no matter if the prophet claims to be mormon, JW, Christian. The Bible is our owners manual and it has been around for thousands of years, long before JS decided to start his own religion.

    That's my two cents...

  • What brings me closer to the savior is the relationship I have now. I can pray to God and believe in him. I know now that my salvation is a free gift, the good works will come out of my free gift of eternal life in Jesus. I am in Christ, Christ is in me.

I also learned after leaving the church that none of us are righteous not one of us. If it wasn't for Jesus we could not be clean in the Heavenly Fathers Site.

I still love all of my mormons sisters and brothers out there. I do care!!

  • @sjadixie There is no heavenly mother. The Book of Mormon is a deceptive document filled with passages copied directly from the Bible in order to fool those that don't do their homework.

  • Self abuse i know if you beleive in the bible you will obey its techings the lord still loves you and cares for you read the scriptures ponder them onces again i know that he is god and that this is his church for he has given us this great gift of apostles and prophets i so know this for my self as i listen to the prophets of god in the name of jesus christ amen

  • @calivideoguy

Every prayer is heard and every Sincere prayer Is answered.

    Hope this helps you.....

  • @calivideoguy There's a talk given by John Bytheway called "Weed Your Brain" and in that talk he says "Don't question your faith, question your doubts" now that's something to think about.

  • @calivideoguy I see your comment after having watched this video ,and hope that you are doing well my brother. It's been 2 yrs since you made that comment. Life can at times be a struggle, but please remember this, that life here if but a short while compared to Eternity, It may not seem like it presently, but I want you to think of things more in the eternal perspective of things. Remember, you will some day be met by your loved ones, make sure that is met with as much joy as possible.

  • @calivideoguy Heavenly Mother?? BINGO! that's a sign that the LDS church is not a Christian Church, nowhere in the Holy Bible does it talk about a Heavenly Mother. this is not a christian teaching nor is the belief that you can become a God. don't push your doubts away, but embrace them by reading the Holy Bible and studying the history of the LDS church and you will find the flaws in the history of the LDS church and come to know the real Christ who DIED for our sins on the CROSS at Calvary.

  • Thanks for putting this up! Very cool to see the Prophet in a normal setting!!! :)

  • this is so cool.

  • and vis versa.!!!!!! Why is mormonism one of the fastest growing religions?

  • @sjadixie Scheck out "Mormon messages" On youtube and you'll get why.

  • Mormons convert to Catholic

  • Thanks for the remarks. Perfect explanation.

  • and Thomas S Monson IS a prophet of GOD.

  • i'm sorry you think that way. he IS a man ordained of God

  • Your "God" is not the same God i worship from the Bible. The "heaven" you believe you will go to is not the same "Heaven" as in the Bible. The "jesus" you believe in is not the same Jesus as in the Bible.

For those who disagree with me...please do some research, because I have. You can't believe in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. You can't believe you will die and become a god and still believe in the one true God.

  • tell me then "oh so inteligent" what does KING of kings and LORD of lords mean, in your bible. there are many scriptures in THE bible that refer to godhood, maybe you should read it. if and after such, youll come to find that although we can reach godhood, God will always remain our God. for example your father is a father, YOUR father, but does that mean because you have a father you cant become a father?YOUR father will always be your father. but so can you reach it.

  • You can try and spin this however you want, but i challenge you to reference ONE verse in the Bible that refers to our "godhood." You obviously haven't done much research if you actually believe that the Book of Mormon and the Bible coincide.

For you to actually believe that Jesus traveled to the New World is completely asinine.

  • it's all true there bro.

  • He is a prophet of god.

  • a cool prophet...:)

  • They were in the middle of a time out, you can't really just disrupt them

  • it was between the thrid and fourth quarters.
