@bucknasty250 well, you clearly missed the point. what i was trying to say is that the 'black people = monkeys' misconception is ingrained into our society. that's why we quickly jump to the conclusion that the taunt was racially related but not something else. so we must be racist ourselves, in a way, for holding onto a misconception so tightly that it's about the only thing we can think of whenever someone does a monkey impersonation.

This is just one idiot, but Liverpool have acted disgracefully throughout the whole thing. Booing and barracking a player whose crime was to report racist abuse. The player in question was found guilty and punished and is treated as a hero. Pathetic really. We're no further on from the 70s.
