What would you recommend: an InVader 150, or a Triple Rectifier? I heard both are very nice amps, though some people say that it is harder to get a nice sound out of the Triple Rectifier.
thanks! The 100 is quite better. It has a nicer, sweeter voice and the bright switch works on all 4 channels, not only 2 like the 150. Yes, you need to rebias for the KT77s. I did it myself and it wasn;t that hard. You do have to remove the inner chasis from the shell since Engl put the bias adjustment inside underneath. You'll need a tool to measure bias as well. It was worth it since I really like the low mids KT77s add. It gave my Invader a bigger wallop and thump.
Darn and I just bought the 150. Haha... I do love the sound of this amp though. So the 100 is that much better? Channel 3 and 4 aren't neccesarily muddy sounding on this amp if you get enough mids on Channel 3.
EL34 are upper mids(great for 80's and leads) and KT77s really tighten up the low end and enhance the lower mids, hence a more modern wallop, thump. It's really a personal preference. EL34s have that nice definition and feel but KT77s pack a nice wallop.

I love the KT77. I feel they are FAR superior to the EL34s, or 6L6s. ( at least from jj)

Really nice! Do you need to rebias the amp after switching tubes? Did you tried the invader 100...wich is best 100 or 150?

what can you say about the differences of an el34 and the kt77's? you like the difference it has? whats good and bad about the swap.
