I have seen many pics of supercars with just the name of the dealer in the back, if i'm not mistaken they just have a document inside the car in chase police stop them and ask for the plate. I don't really know why, but last year police has confiscated the Ferrari of Giancarlo Fisichella (F1 driver) because he had no plate in the front.

Welll... you don't get a fine for it but if you're one the highway and they don't see a plate then you'll get pulled over and they'll run the car etc and let you go, no fines. New cars usually have the name of the dealer instead of a license plate and they have a temporary license in the rear window
