  • He was also a totally ruthless backstabber.

  • "As to the negroes, you must be tender upon the subject … Who

talk most about liberty and equality …? Is it not those who

hold the bill of rights in one hand and a whip for affrighted

    slaves in the other?"

    - Hamilton to Jefferson/Madison

  • What the hell was this done for?

  • he had gold hidden under his house

  • Hamilton's house? Should have taken it to NJ and dropped it off the Palisades, right at the spot where Burr rid us of him.

  • ...WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN. e__e

What on earth possessed them to do this? Was the house in danger due to an unstable foundation or something? WHY? The expense, hassle, bureaucratic nightmare, and sheer destruction of history is baffling!

  • @AppleaLJ actually the "sheer destruction of history" is a bit of a fallacy since this is in fact the second time this building has been relocated- the last time in 1889 and since relocation is not destruction and is often Preservation.. If you're "baffled" go online and you can discover the rationale.

  • What is that jungle junk music playing while they move the building?

  • so it seems Alexander Hamilton lived in a mobile home. Our most white trash founding father.

  • @timi0000 Actually, he was. His mother was a prostitute from the Caribbean, and because of his impoverished beginnings he was the most likely "founder" to betray everything our Revolution stood for and hand it back lock, stock, and barrel to England - for a "modest fee", of course...

  • @combatjm89 His mother was in no way a prostitute. I haven't the slightest idea where you got such an idea from.

  • @crookedsin It was in a book I read years ago, forgive me I cannot recall the primary source for you. He was born on the island of Nevis in the Caribbean, and his mother was Rachel Lavien. She had a child from a previous relationship, and abandoned the child to live with Hamilton's father. They did not marry, and James Hamilton did not acknowledge Alexander. His illegitamacy had a profound effect upon him, no doubt fueling his ambitions.

  • Why would you ruin history you fools!!!!!!

  • @sandythebear actually history was "ruined" back in 1889 when the house was relocated the last time. Do some research before you banter the word "fools" around! And always remember when you point your finger theres always three fingers pointing back at you!

  • Hamilton's the greatest of our founders. His vision of America is what made this country great. That's why Jefferson and Madison barely changed any functions of his federal system, hypocritically. His system was just too good, although they were never man enough to admit it. Long live the memory of Alexander Hamilton.

  • @NinoTheGod Hardly, if your the status quo then maybe. Hamilton was NOT a man of the people. To set up a central bank is to fight a revolutionary war in vein. The bankers care not who sits on the thrown, be it in Europe or America. As long as they control the currency, they control everything. Research the Federal Reserve and fractional reserve banking. Every country who adopted the idea of a central bank has suffered dearly.

  • @NinoTheGod Yeah the central banking system and the corrupt corporate monoplies is very good for the common people. He had no respect for the people liberties Thomas Jefferson was much better founding father.

  • @wtfjaftw "As to the negroes, you must be tender upon the subject … Who talk most about liberty and equality? Is it not those who hold the Bill of Rights in one hand and a whip for affrighted slaves in the other?" - Hamilton to Jefferson/Madison... stings, doesn't it? hahaha

  • @NinoTheGod I strongly disagree. He was an agent of London banking interests through his benefactor, a lawyer who lived in Philadelphia. He was extremely intelligent, and was very much a "self-made man" as it were. But as he strongly advocated that our new country adopt the British merchantile system that we, in part, fought the Revolution over, I cannot hold him in esteem. Upon his death, Henry Clay took up the cause, and then Lincoln.

  • @NinoTheGod also he was one of the few founders who didnt own slaves and one of the few who believed slavery was bad because blacks had a contribution to society,

  • These "locals" have no idea who Alexander Hamilton is, imagine he might be some Rich White Guy who lived there a hundred years ago. Or maybe he was Chico Hamilton's father.

  • If the Fed didn't rule the states financially, sovereignty would be moot. Adding more states to the union would be a blessing if it means more congressmen/women to counter our monstrous executive branch.

But forming a super-gov't to rule 3 nations is a nightmare coming true, and people are right to fear the possibilities

  • While I appreciate your support for the next American Revolution, I don't understand your disdain for hamilton. Yeah he was sort of a "imperialist" and yes he wasted to use the British syste of government in the U.S. However, never forget that he fought in the Revolution and used his artillary to stall the British several times so that they could not catch up to Washington and the main army.

  • The North American Union, which would replace the US, has only been a theory wrapped in a veil of secrecy -- up until now. The Bush admin has been denying creating such a plan for a number of years.

Work on the super-state started in March 2005 ... American president, the Canadian premier Paul Martin and the Mexican president Vincent Fox.They agreed that they will implement the North American Union by 2010, and sign the SPP (Security and Prosperity Partnership) between the three states...(cont)

  • The North American Union, or super-state as some call it, has become a topic in congress.

    Bush administration acted in secrecy

The Bush administration presented the advancement of NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement).

NAFTA, along with the European Union, are the most significant continental integrations in the world. NAFTA has been operating since 1994, and is comprised of the USA, Canada and Mexico. The aim of the integration is the creation of the largest zone of free trade (cont)

  • in the world that should encompass the whole western hemisphere. Members of NAFTA advocate for the cancellation of import taxes and all restrictions in the flow of capital and services, the synchronization of the process of lawmaking, as well as ecological standards and the protection of intellectual property.

With membership in the integrations, Canada and Mexico would gain access to the American market, and companies from the USA would gain freedom in their operations...(cont)

  • Super-state with total control over its citizens

The three nations worked hard to implement a great deal of trade as a part of the NAFTA.

The amount of population and the size of the land that the super-state would control just go to show how powerful this new state would be.

Canada is the second largest country in the world after Russia as far as area is concerned, and it has a population of 32 million people. It is a country with natural beauty and is one of the leading nations as (cont)

  • far as standard of living is concerned.

There are 109 million people currently living in Mexico, and that is the 11th nation in the world as far as population size is concerned. With a land area of 2 million square kilometres, Mexico is the fifth largest state in size in North America, and fourteenth in the world, whilst there are 300 million people living in the United States. Everything that is secret provokes a certain fear, and the new super-state is no exception. (cont)

  • There have been speculations that the North American Union would function on the basis of absolutist rule, with total control over the population.

Americans are scared of Mexican immigrants A big question is, how happy will the citizens of the United States be with the removal of borders between the USA, Canada and Mexico.

The citizens of all three nations will be able to travel freely between the three nations and

    (cont)

  • stay there as long as they like, because they would all be citizens of the same super-state.

Of course, Americans are afraid of Mexican immigrants, who would no longer be immigrants but legal citizens with all rights."

    Two killed in Greek earthquake

    watch?v=8VcstnJ5-m8

"A strong earthquake struck southern Greece on Sunday, ...measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale, struck at 1525 local time (1225 GMT), 54 km (33 miles) south of the western port city of Patras.

The village of Kato Achaia near the epicentre appeared to be hardes hit by the tremor, which was felt as far away as Italy."

  • That happened about twelve hours ago.

  • Hi techklec,

Firefall - Just Remember I Love You

    watch?v=d_Ii0MRrFF4

  • It's like a family reunion!

  • TECHKLEC

that reminds me of a movie!

I can't remember the title tho.

    hehehe

  • The quake was felt in Athens, where 143 people were killed in a 1999 earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale. Greece is often rattled by quakes, most causing no serious damage.

In January an earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale struck Greece, the epicentre again in the Peloponnese peninsula.
