  • Reason i watch vid is cuz thoms epic face XD. Im new to radio i know thom is singer whats the name of the other guys?

  • @1dandrae You can't call your self a radiohead fan unless you know their names! Colin Greenwood on bass, Jonny Greenwood on guitar (the crazy one), Ed Obrien on guitar (the tall one), and Phil Selway on drums.

  • i like how they give you an update on piggy back girl every 15 seconds

  • @musterdsandwich i bet that camera was on her the whole time

  • I love his hair xD

  • Anyone debating his singing talents should take a look at "Give up the Ghost" live from the basement. That song is built around his repeated live vocals, one slip up and the song would be ruined.

  • I don't think Colin was shown once in this video. Poor guy.

  • This song is another Radiohead Classic. The lyrics are hit very hard today because of the shit condition the world is in. "The planet is gunboat in a sea fear " indeed. Btw , Thom's hairstyle here is my favorite of the many hairstyles he's rocked. Radiohead forever..they're here to stay and will be playing stadiums long into the future like acts : The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and other big names still playing out there. RESPECT and LOVE.

  • my opinion , this song is great ... the lyrics are so powerfull and the music is just amazing !! long live radiohead !

  • I love 2:35, though the album version is also nice at that point

  • lol i like this song.

but straight the fuck up, he looks like Lloyd off dumb and dumber got his hair bleached.

    Haha.. just sayin

  • 2:35 improvizes, what, not magic..... but a scientific, magic-LIKE, musical experiment

  • hm, thom complained about being made into something by the music producers n all back in radiohead's early days. i wonder if he would've had that blonde hair and jumping and all that if his producer hadn't been involved.

  • 2:30 is so awesome :D

  • hes fuckingg awesomeee,

hess all shortt and stubby XD i love him, wishh i could of seen him,

  • Not sure if it has any use to discuss this with hardcore fans, since most will just think their fav. singer, guitarist or composer is just the best, no matter what. A bit like people who just fell in love. They see the good sides and not the weaker sides. One can look at it rationally or emotionally. While something can be emotionally 'great' (you get shivers), it can be quite weak if you look at it from a more rational point of view..

  • I disagree. He might have an off performance now and then, but overall he's a great singer, technically and otherwise. And his emotional range is untouchable. I think he's got the most amazing voice I've ever heard. It can be beautiful, nasty, delicate, rough, passionate, distant, sincere, cunning, indignant, serene, innocent, seductive, angelic, sinister, comforting, disturbing, desperate, complacent, remorseful, ruthless..Is there any emotion he can't convey with that voice? I don't think so.

  • Oops, that reply was for PowerRedBull, I typed it in the wrong box. Oh well.

  • @NymphoVixen

I agree on the parts that are related to different emotions. However, technically and pitchwise he is quite weak .This has even been stated quite some times in reviews about concerts and such. He has quite a weak pitch and is partly singing "from his throat "instead of

"from his stomach" (the best way to get a strong pitch, which explains the little bit off pitch sometimes).

Do not get me wrong..I do not dislike radiohead or him

  • Thom Yorke is one of the most praised rock singers out there. He's not an opera singer, singing from "from the stomach" (which I assume you meant singing from the diaphragm) and other technicalities do not really apply to rock music, because it's more about unique personal vocal style and tone than about singing "correctly". I personally know a classically trained singer who had to retrain himself to sing in a more natural way when he started a rock band, and it wasn't easy.

  • @NymphoVixen

    Thom Yorke is amazing.

That being said, "his emotional range is untouchable" makes me recall a guy named Freddie Mercury. Different style of music so not as much "teen angst" or whatever you would call it. Either way Freddie is in my opinion the most emotional male singer I've ever heard.

  • @NymphoVixen

how about you tell us how his dick tastes too.

  • @NymphoVixen dick rider much?

  • @NymphoVixen He actually has trouble conveying happiness, Thom said so himself.

  • @NymphoVixen yea. confidence. certainty.

  • Thom yorke by far. I can't believe you've got Bono in that list

  • I was born the same year this album came out- And I've been listening to it ever since, I think.

  • despues de thom yorke , ser albino es ser chido

  • sometimes imiss thisfrom radiohead...

    allthis rockandroll!!!!! youcan seealltheband enjoyingthemusic.....

but they steel the best band in the planet.................

  • Uh I love Thom's voice as much as the next guy, it's amazing, but I'd like to point out that the best rock singer in the past 30 years is definitely Jeff Buckley

  • Give that to either Eddie Vedder or Chris Cornell

  • who? i cant decide whos the best, theres Roger Daltry, Layne Staley, Kurt Cobain, Bono, Eddie Vedder, Thom Yorke, Chris Cornell, Michael Stipe,

  • Yorke's got the most beautiful voice I've ever heard. And this is one is probably the best song ever.

  • i love his voice on the secound bass break

  • i wish that something would ...

  • there is no such thing as a terrible performance when it comes to radiohead, bro.

  • @Tabamations1

I would say thom yorke has quite a weak pitching most of the time. It sounds acceptable, but he's not really a great singer, technically wise

  • That explains why he is the 7th most powerful singer of all time.

    Lmfao.

    Go troll somewhere else fail.

  • @CheyneFreakinStokes

Well..the thing is that those votes for powerful this or that...or ' best guitarists' and such are not entirely based on all that. I mean, matthew bellamy from muse was voted for most attractive or handsome singer (or something). I do not say that he is ugly, but with these polls or elections it is quit clear just an opinion that even tottally changes each year. What I meant that If you asked any skilled singing teacher for example, they will say he is technically not great

  • I think Thom Yorke is a good singer because I like the sound of his voice. He has a better range than many, can sustain high notes for impressive amounts of time and has a powerful vibrato, but to be honest, technicalities mean little when it comes to music. Any skilled singer teacher can suck a toe, because despite theoretical knowledge, they are not connecting to nearly as many people as Radiohead are, they're teaching little kids to mimic Otis Redding.

  • Well said Nekhben.............Music is art ......not based soley on mechanics . Also voices are like fingerprits , No two are exactly alike . Whatever it is Thom Yorke is a hauntingly rich vocalist . For me my favorite singers seem to totally be trasformed when the sing ! Starting with Bob Marley he disapeared into his songs . Ed Vedder is possesed when he sings . Micheal Stipe durring in his finer songs also has that quality . it`s an intangible thing , but if it has integrity you will feel it

  • @1MusicConnoisseur Good description of what a good singer can do. I think the best example is Ian Curtis, RIP.

  • I think your comment is so good it could be used for any kind of teacher/student relationship.

  • @Nekhben1 Thom yorke is an amazing singer, but technically Matthew Bellamy has an amazing falsetto and falsetto range, and hes an amazing perfromance to watch live. But nonetheless they are both magnificent singers.

  • you horrible person

  • @mrtall1994 By who?

  • aparently that huge crowd disagree with you! or dont care. Hes i think the greatest Rock singer of the last 20 years. probably 30. David Bowie is Pretty wierd too but isnt that why we all love him so.

  • I love the Thom Yorke of the Pablo Honey/Bends era. Yknow, his Kurt Cobain/emo/psycho teenager look and mannerisms, i reckon its awesome.

  • He's getting a pretty good sound out of that Ric, don't cha think?

  • I didnt see any Ric...

Who is playing with it, anyway Rics ALWAYS sound awesome...

Listen to Johnny Marr if you dont believe ;)

  • What's Ed playing?

And yeah dude I love the smiths.

I've got an archtop tuned to open e right now for that reason!

  • I really dont know but i dont reckon that's a Ric...

Maybe yes, jaja, i dont know.

Greenwood and Marr are two of my music idols, it's just amazing what they can do with a couple of chords and notes

  • I think it's a 620, in Mapleglow?

Definitely a ric of some sorts!

Thom's tele has got f-holes though, didn't notice that before.

  • wow..i was a 3 year old when this was going on... xD Lol. I love radiohead. :]

  • 15 years ago ay, fuckin wicked!!

  • 0:50 HOTTIE TO THE LEFT!

  • @illegalsmirf lol

  • The most innovative & influential band of our time.Awesome :)

  • 2:00 Amazing!!!

  • mmmmmm... wonderful

  • 電台司令那年代依然走的是純英式搖滾的曲風

  • radiohead has to be one of the best bands of the 90's along with the pumpkins (:

  • and weezer!

  • why does everyone have to compare radiohead or nirvana to some other 90's band? jesus its annoying...

  • Because they're a band from the nineties, and there were so few good ones that to some people they're in competition with each other.

  • yorke has about 2 octaves on cobain

  • this sounds grunge to me

  • 2:29 <--the best ever.

  • Comment removed

  • I think you mean "Nirvana WAS better"

  • They're both 2 of the most Iconic bands of not just the 90s, of all time. Now shut up.

  • i love radiohead. but i kinda miss when thom would dye his hair every three seconds. it fit him. they put on a great show. i wish i could see them in concert.

  • And Colin? :(

  • I think you see him briefly between 2:49 and 2:53.

  • I think this is the first time I wish I was someplace 15 years after the fact. Was probably playing in a sandbox in Kindergarten while this was happening.

    o.O

    love radiohead

  • LOL, same here. I was like,"Hmm, if only I knew of Radiohead back then, I'd have gone... wait, I was 6."

  • lol, exactly

  • Comment removed

  • Is it me or is he rolling his R's on the word real?

  • Yea he is...Its still a good ass performance

  • rfsdfsdf

  • I'm not arguing the fact that he was back then and continues to be an excellent musician. I'm just saying that he looked scary back in those days. Almost reptillian. And I'm glad he changed his look. That's all.

  • oh, well. i can concur on that point i guess.

  • I don't think he looks scary. I just love his look on the 90's. He still handsome on my point of view, nowdays, but I really enjoy this 'reptillian' look you say. It's original, and I love long hair.

  • Really? I think he looks fine here. Certainly now-Thom is more distinguished-looking, but I like this "hello-I-am-really-90s" look as well.

  • The look is okay, I just don't think it suits him all that well. And some of the expressions he makes during his close-ups are downright horrifying.

  • Ahaha. Poor Thom. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, as they say.

I enjoy the close-ups, ha. Especially 1:44 - 1:45 - somehow he manages to go from GRRR!-face to smiley in a second.

  • Don't get me wrong, I think he's a beautiful man. His face has a lot of character in it and he manages to convey a lot of emotion through his expressions when he sings. I like his droopy eye too. It adds distinction to his face. It's better to embrace what other people would perceive as flaws because they make you unique.

But in this vid...just doesn't do it for me. Oh well. It was the nineties. He was younger.

  • Oh man, your first paragraph - I agree! Violently so! Dare I say if he didn't have the wonky eye, I wouldn't find him appealing.

Hehehe. It's been nice talking to you about this. Of course, bands should be about music... but why not have some fun talking about aesthetics, sometimes?

  • well in my opinion..

as a good musician he is, the looks are not important... his voice is one of the best i've EVER heard... and his expressions are because he "feels" what he sings... yeah he feels the lyrics and let the emotions run free in his veins..

that is just my opinion :)

  • @evanraufbold yep!

  • 2:30 nice singing, thom!

  • I love the thom Yorke style of these years

  • Comment removed

  • amazing

  • Mucha droga Yorke, mucha droga...

  • nao, ele nao s drogava, era apenas (solo) alcool,

  • (o.-) <---Yorke

Lol, no offense intended, I actually admire him.

    He's god.

  • omg check ed's look!! :)) really nice back then
