Of COURSE Corbin is not Lin. Nobody will be better because Lin wrote the part for himself, even if he only subconsciously.

Now this is actually the worst recording of Corbin. This was at the very beginning of his run, when he was just starting to get the character.

If you listen to later versions, his voice is smoother, his breathing technique is better, and his accent/spanish is a helluva lot better. Corbin did a VERY good job with Usnavi.

And yes, Robin is freakin' adorable! Love him!

the accent sounds extremely forced. the rapping (here and throughout the show) is really tight, he should just let go. acting wise, i think he's a more than okay usnavi but not at all hitting it with me.

everyone needs to stop comparing corbin to lin. hes NOT lin, so of course hes gonna be different than him. but he obviously does a good job because he got the part, and hes doing amazing playing this role. just because he isnt lin doesnt mean he cant pull this off.

I've seen this show once, been to NYC once so wen people are comparing Corbin to the other Usnavi's i really have NO clue what you are talking about. I loved 'In The Heights' when i saw it a week and a half ago. Only disappointment was that Corbin has a fantastic singing voice and he didn't use it very much.. simply because that is not the character.. maybe in future roles Corbin will be able to display is singing voice more. Great show though! Loved NYC!

I don't think anyone can compare with Lin-Manuel when it comes to playing Usnavi, but I have to say that I saw Corbin recently and he is actually pretty good. The whole HSM probably gives a negative vibe on Broadway, but I was pleasantly surprised by his performance. He's not that bad, guys!

@so4chaotic Lin is going to be Usnavi in the screen version of "In The Heights", and I am thrilled! I heard he has creative control on the project too, which makes me happy as well so Hollywood won't ruin it they way they have so many other stage musicals. I got to see Lin twice as Usnavi, and no one has come even close to the way he protrays this character.
