ha ha ha I know that I guess I should of reworded my question. I meant to ask what the bpm for the song is, but I figured it out it says it in the beginning of the video.
I have a sax quintet, and would like to arrange this into a piece that we could play. We have no drummer, but we have a pretty good grove coming along. The quintet consists of 2 altos, 2 tenors and a baritone. Considering this, it would make sense to put the bass line for the bari, the melody for lead alto, and harmony for the 2nd alto. Would it make sense to put the piano line for the tenors, or should I just stick to more harmony? The piano line is what would set the groove though.... Help? =)
@MrPlayAlong, do you think you could provide with the chords to the second part of the chorus? After the whole Fm/Cm bit. If you could, that would be so awesome. Thanks again for a wonderful transcription.
@MusicShiv Just looking at it quickly now it looks like (in the key of C): Cb, Abm6, Bbm7, Ebm7, Abm7, Db7 & Gb7. All repeated with each change on the start and 4th beat of the bar. Hopefully that will make more sense when you write it on your part. If not feel free to send me a message.
@MrPlayAlong, Yeah, I totally understand and thanks a ton. I'm playing tenor in a quintet and we're just bouncing around ideas with tunes like this. Thanks again!
Just out of curiosity, why is the bass playing below its range? The lowest note it can play without loosening the strings is E1 and according to this it plays a Db1 (the bass sounds an octave lower than it is written). Also, go alto sax! I don't play tenor.
The bass is written below its range for the play along, I wanted the bass to go down with the piano rather then up, against it. If you ever want to play it on bass take them up the octave.
Because that would take away all the fun! Its improvised! Play around using the notes in the blues scale thats written at the start of the solo section.
are the notes for tenor the same on alto because i have to do part of this song for a solo for my marching band but its written in the music as if it were for a middle schooler(easy/boring) so i wanted another way t play it
I have included the music for instruments in the keys of Bb, Eb and C in the description. Since alto is in Eb that would be the music your should use. But this music may not be in the same key that your marching band plays it in, so it may be of little use to you. But, none the less, feel free to jam with this video to get a feel for the song.
Idk why but I just thought this would make awesome music for a level of the next Kirby game

@alalange bpm stands for the beats per minute. It sets the tempo for a musical composition.

Hence the time signature. It's a 5, but it does look like a 3 a little. But if you count the beats you'll see.

hi. what is the key signature for the tenor sax part. this guitarist at school keeps bugging to to learn it!!!
thanks!!! this is amazing!!!
MrReggaery 2 years ago
Hey, the tenor sax is in F minor. Sheet music for C, Bb & Eb instruments is in the description. Thanks :)
MrPlayAlong 2 years ago
would that mean that it has A flat, B flat, E flat and D flat?
MrReggaery 2 years ago
Yeah, but we name them in order from left to right so it would be Bb, Eb, Ab & Db.

Wow, thanks!

I have included the music for instruments in the keys of Bb, Eb and C in the description. Since alto is in Eb that would be the music your should use.
