Meanwhile, national prevalence levels have been written down from 25% to 11.4% - which is still untrue.
These are statistical constructs, not facts or realities.

Population increase is not an indication of people not getting infected. HIV/Aids takes years to kill, &availability of ARV treatment is helping more people
Our country has one of the most liberal democracies (not sure where u get the squeamish bit from) and we are battling with Mbeki's B*S legacy the best way we know how.

2001: 44.8 million
2008: 49.5 million
According to HIV theory, the pop. would have been stuck at 43.9 million.
Correction, I meant Western Blot. As long as surveys, including in South Africa, rely on a single ELISA and do no confirmation tests, their numbers are going to be too high. Just as they were too high when they relied only blood samples from clinics using pregant women in urban areas only.
Surveys are still only using a single ELISA to determine whether a sample is positive/negative.
