When I was almost 19 I went to a meeting at the assemby for those interested in applying to Gilead. Ive never seen someone spend so much time trying to bash one religion when there are so many falsehoods in other religions. If you feel you have discovered the falsehood then why dont you just be happy that you left and not keep reliving "your" ugly past?? What you describe - rejecting things that countered the church's ideologies - occurred in the 3rd century as they were deciding which books to include in the NT. This is why Marcion's canon (c. 140) is so different from the Muratorean fragment (c. 200). If this all seems unfamiliar, do yourself a favor and learn about the NT origins and Nag Hammadi while you're at it.
Hi I have just found your videos and would like to ask a question.
When you left the witnesses, where did you start? Did you stick to the scriptures only and which translation is the most acurate? I am considering learing acient greek and Hebrew so that I do not have to rely on anyone else translation. Any advice on where to start?
@ProverbsWanted When I left the JWs I bought a Holman study Bible, and found it a good translation, in some ways superior to the NWT.
However, subsequent analysis of the Bible regarding its dubious origins led me to conclude that there is no more basis for believing that the Bible is divine, just as you may feel about the Koran and the Book of Mormon.
Also, as far as gambling goes, I knew elders that worked as stock brokers. I knew JW's who dabbled inb the stockmarket. I should say GAMBLED in the stockmarket, because that is really what it is.
So tell me, how is it a JW says they can't gamble, but gambles in the stockmarket. I have an elder uncle and asked if there has been a recent ruling on banning stockbroker as a JW job, or for any JW to stay away from the stockmarket. No such thing has happened, and I completely stumped him. LOL

JW's told you that it was wrong to gamble. They base this on a scripture that talks about "the love of money is injurious", but they neglect that that only applys to someone who gambles in excess.

Satan said man serves God because He gives him stuff. What happened at the end...God "blessed" Job with more stuff. Look at it good.

I was "raised in the truth" but have left, but was zealous and always thought about Gilead and the missionary work. I pioneered a lot and went went to "where the need was greater" when I was young about 16 y.o. So I really enjoyed the tour.

For feeling "bad" that I had "run out" the JW that had come to my door the previous year, whose argument about the Holy Trinity was completely out of wack, when the same lady, "meek" as ever, audaciously graced my doorway to invite me to a Passover service the following year,... I went.
I did more! I attended one-on-one Bible Study classes and group Bible studies.
This went on for some 4 to 5 months, my curiosity satisfied that this cult is no more than a fraud!

Why do JW always say 'we only made mistakes, like the apostles, who at times had some wrong expectations and made mistakes!' No wrong, the apostles were never so foolish and presumptuous as to set dates of when the system would end, and then publish these it worldwide as being dates from God. I wanted to PROVE they were THE TRUTH, instead all I found was an organization built upon a false prophecy. I remembered Jesus' words about Beware of False Prophets. So to the horror of my family and friends I disassociated myself. I am happier now. I no longer live in fear and sadness. I learned THE TRUTH about THE TRUTH, and it set me free. When I was almost 19 I went to a meeting at the assemby for those interested in applying to Gilead. All of us youngsters that were going to be 19 in a few months were told to fill out an application (well all of us except me). One of the brothers that trained the Gilead students laughed at me, and told me I wasn't allowed to apply since I wasn't married, and they only took married sister (he was outright rude and condescending to me). Jesus is the reflection, the representative, of the unseen Father. Jesus is the mediator between men and the Father. Jesus is the Savior the Father sent, and one the Father raised from death then exalted as king at His right hand.
The final destination, though, is the Father.
The language of the Bible is plain and simple. Why complicate it?

Hi I have just found your videos and would like to ask a question.
When you left the witnesses, where did you start? Did you stick to the scriptures only and which translation is the most acurate? I am considering learing acient greek and Hebrew so that I do not have to rely on anyone else translation. Any advice on where to start?

@ProverbsWanted When I left the JWs I bought a Holman study Bible, and found it a good translation, in some ways superior to the NWT.
However, subsequent analysis of the Bible regarding its dubious origins led me to conclude that there is no more basis for believing that the Bible is divine, just as you may feel about the Koran and the Book of Mormon.

Also, as far as gambling goes, I knew elders that worked as stock brokers. I knew JW's who dabbled inb the stockmarket. I should say GAMBLED in the stockmarket, because that is really what it is.
So tell me, how is it a JW says they can't gamble, but gambles in the stockmarket. I have an elder uncle and asked if there has been a recent ruling on banning stockbroker as a JW job, or for any JW to stay away from the stockmarket. No such thing has happened, and I completely stumped him. LOL

The bible is actually a story of "God's" heavens, and many things in it are only representing the babylonian zodiac. In the book of Job, it's called the mazzaroth.
You can only see this if your willing to. Check out Ezekiel and Revelations' "vision" of the 4 living creatures. They came straight from the Zodiac, and I can explain it to you, quoting the bible. The bible villinfies many things, and makes it irony.

JW's told you that it was wrong to gamble. They base this on a scripture that talks about "the love of money is injurious", but they neglect that that only applys to someone who gambles in excess.
Looking at the account of Job, one can see that God himself makes a wager with Satan. The result is God allows alot of suffering to this man only to prove Satan right. Satan said man serves God because He gives him stuff. What happened at the end...God "blessed" Job with more stuff. Look at it good.

there's a difference between gambling and proving a lesson/point. satan challenged GOD like a student challenges a teacher the teacher is not gambling in letting the student make his point however long he takes, he is giving the class a choice, his way or the challenger's way.
it is wrong to gamble big or small...ppl who gamble in excess had to start from somewhere i.e small they weren't born gamblers

Here U R. You've only said that man has never had a period of time in which to prove he can rule himself. If Satan is ruling man, then how did man rule himself? You've made an assumption in stating that Satan or man at the helm will bring the same exact result.
Why would God take away mankinds eternal life, and sabotage us with an invisible evil guy that invisibly controls us--just to say that He proved that man can't rule themselves?

Well, Satan won this gamble, and taught God something he didn't know. Man ONLY serves a God because of what they feel they recieve from that God. That's why Job got "rewarded" at the end of the story. You've been taught to believe what you do.
You can only draw in new persons with "good news" & pictures of a new world. That is why, after they get convinced, people join JW. Then they stay in service out of a fear they won't make it to Paradise if their hours are low. All Ex JWs know this.

tht's not true at all. wht about the older congregation who cnt walk. they dnt have 2 go out on the ministry. God wont judge us by how many hour or by a scheme tht u think he's set up he judges us by wht's in our hearts. all we hve 2 do is accept him as almighty ruler. a relationship is a 2 way street, God gives u wht u wnt provided u glorify his name, accept him etc. so no satan doesn't win. not in my and most witnesses cases anyway.

once ur accept God as ur almighty father, protector nd ruler like Job did, u pour all ur problems onto him and u'll come out of things with a stronger relationship. read stories about witnesses in concentration camps etc. all these are modern day Job; they get rewarded b'se they trust God no matter wht, they didn't waver in the midst of trouble and tht's all God wnts 4rm us. God doesn't care wht if u feel we use him so long as glorify his name and accept him as God almighty tht's it

THANKS, so much for sharing this. Great you had to read the Bible all the way through first before going! I was "raised in the truth" but have left, but was zealous and always thought about Gilead and the missionary work. I pioneered a lot and went went to "where the need was greater" when I was young about 16 y.o. So I really enjoyed the tour.
I'm very interested in the Writing Commitee as well, who isolate themselves from "apostates" I think. They must know ALL the false teachings!

I just dont know anymore. I hate doubt and love God. I have studied with JW's but have'nt been baptised. I found them really nice and genuine people. Anyone with any reasoning in their heart can see that there is definatley some strange going on on Earth today. If satan's destruction is imminent it makes sense that he would be going around like a roaring lion trying to bring as many down with him as possible, after all..he was created for eternity but now has no hope of existence. Be careful. xx

For feeling "bad" that I had "run out" the JW that had come to my door the previous year, whose argument about the Holy Trinity was completely out of wack, when the same lady, "meek" as ever, audaciously graced my doorway to invite me to a Passover service the following year,... I went.
I did more! I attended one-on-one Bible Study classes and group Bible studies.
This went on for some 4 to 5 months, my curiosity satisfied that this cult is no more than a fraud!

You don't need to blindly follow and surrender your mind to twelve men in Brooklyn to gain salvation anymore then you need the the Vatican.

Why do JW always say 'we only made mistakes, like the apostles, who at times had some wrong expectations and made mistakes!' No wrong, the apostles were never so foolish and presumptuous as to set dates of when the system would end, and then publish these it worldwide as being dates from God. That is not a mistake - that is false prophecy.

very nice video EGM! i really admire your courage! you seem to be enlightened now. i have opened my mind and i've become a deist becouse i like to be an independent free thinker. i read all the comments here and i agree with your idea that bible is just an old book not inspired by god of course. the existence of satan is the main reason why i reject the contraversal logic in genesis and so i dont believe in a biblical god. but my bible knowledge lead me to a new conclusion about how life begun..

like you, after I had been a pioneer and ministerial servant, I resigned from Jehovah's Witnesses. It was a hard decision. I wanted to PROVE they were THE TRUTH, instead all I found was an organization built upon a false prophecy. I remembered Jesus' words about Beware of False Prophets. So to the horror of my family and friends I disassociated myself. I am happier now. I no longer live in fear and sadness. I learned THE TRUTH about THE TRUTH, and it set me free. Again, I am so proud of you!

Really So tell me where did it set you free. Back to the world. Nobody is perfect. and you cannot expect perfection from imperfect beings. When we fall we get up. When we make a mistake we learn from it and dont repeat it. The best thing about our cuts is that we can heal. When wrong you simply strive to do what is right. U yourself dont have a perfect past. So how could you teach others about the bible? because u changed. because u walked with integrity.

I just want to let you know that I think what you are doing is amazing. I am very proud of you. My name is Erin. I am from Arkansas. Raised by Witnesses (dad is an Elder). I wanted to go to gilead. I studied EVERY publication. Read all the Bible. I came to the same conclusion that you have reached. All I kept seeing were a bunch of cover ups for false prophecies. 1914,1918 1919,1925,& 1919 also 1975. They created One lie to cover up another lie. its like a snowball effect . When will it end?

Dealing with my own mortality was very difficult as a JW. It hit me when I turned 35, and I mourned my own death, and began to doubt the ressurrection. I became a JAW "Jehovah's Agnostic Witness"... after leaving, I questioned my belief in God, and found no proof of his existence (at least for the existence of the Biblical God). So no, I no longer believe in the anthropomorphic Biblical concept of God.
