  • i did this to my car 5 years ago mounts are still strong. but man the car vibrates..

  • you can do the same thing to transmission mounts and subframe bushings

  • I only waited 1 day and some squirted out the side =]

  • Fuck we don't wanna see your face..... at least wash it beforehand.

  • honestly WTF is the point of this why dont you just buy some energy suspension pieces there cheap? this just seams like a waste of time

  • i like this guy..

  • THAT 3M STUFF MAKES YOUR MOUNTS STRONGER THEN THE ORIGINAL MOUNTS!!Put Your #M Filled Mounts In The Freezer Over Night And That Eliminates Waiting 3 Days Of Drying!!5 hrs Of Any Freezer Solve My Long Wait..Try It,It Works

  • @Raythizzel Sounds like a pretty good idea, hadn't really thought of the freezer.

  • @KawaTriple250 Yeah A Buddy Of Mine Put Me Up On It..That Or Blowin Heaters

  • @RSX250 On your Comment (Im not sure if thats a good idea... You want to dry out the resin right? all your doing is freezing the waster thats in it...) Your Right,The freezer Thing Didnt Work,But The Blowing Heaters Work Greeeat!!

  • i got two mounts for my car with the poly material how much of a difference should i feel after they get installed?

  • ok my question is, do you have to burn all of the rubber out of the mount? Or is it ok to just keep the remaining rubber and fill in the voids? Reason being is cause I would like to have the bolt guide in the middle of the mount to remain in the origional position.

  • @heartlessd83 honestly i've done a few since in different ways and its really impossible to get all the rubber out and burning off is pretty stupid. Cutting it out is also extremely hard. But from what i've noticed, if you tape it up with duct tape and leave a small hole to inject your stuff it works just as good. Besides, we are talking about cheap mounts, i mean unless you shell out money for inserts you probably won't find a difference in methods.

I would just leave the rubber and fill

  • @KawaTriple250... Aight, tell me this wasn't fate lol. To make a long story short, the reason for the motor movement was the rear mount bracket had snapped the two bolts holding it to the engine ( sapposed to have three so prob the reason it snapped in the first place ). Broke down omw home from work due to a bad coil pack. Went to the junkyard and paid $16 for a coil pack, trunk light, rear mount bracket, front and rear mount and both the front left and tranny aftermarket poly mounts.

  • @KawaTriple250 I would guess that the more of the original rubber you leave in, the less vibration is going to transfer too. Do you know if that's the case?

  • I just bought a tube of this stuff but on the bottom instead of the usual stopper that the caulking gun pushes on there is a pull tab like on a tube of grease. Is there anything under that pull tab that goes up against the caulking gun? I don't want to loose the remaining of the tube if I have some left over. Thank you.

  • the top of that mount is filled with silicon fluid....

  • Nice, you got a MX-6. I believe mine just went out on the driver side. It would make a clunk noise while idling on that side. It only does it in D, oddly enough. Anyways, can you just take it off or do you have to put something in the place of the mount while it's being fixed?

  • Great video, I just broke my engine mounts last week due to the installation of the supercharger last year, the motor moves so much under load and hitting/makes cIunking noise. Dealer wnats $1000 USD to replace all 3 mounts, but I'm going to fill my lower engine/trans mount and install an engine damper on the left motor mount, hopefully it will stop my motor moving so much and stop the clunking noise

  • I think next time i do this i will tape up both sides and on one side leave a hole just big enough to fill it with. This should fill up most of the air holes.

I haven't found a cheap supplier but if i do this next time that way i may also just go ahead and mix some poly resin myself. I've heard from many that window weld is pretty good for what it does though.

  • @KawaTriple250 So guess I will be trying this some other time with the four unused mounts I now have when I get some free time and cash. Def sounds like a great idea and thx again.

  • @KawaTriple250 The reason I searched for video's about this is that someone on a forum just told me about Loctite's polyurethane filler. They said it's about $4. Not sure how much you get for that, but if you leave all of the existing rubber in place, you wouldn't need as much.

  • haha
