@csxcw44ac I know this train can be as short as a single light engine some days, but its longer out of Raleigh than the 42 cars I have here most days of the week. This week it was 50+ through NCSU most days. And I didnt just grab random cars and throw them together, I tried to put them in somewhat of a realistic consist, although I dont have any of the FBPX chip cars. And I wouldnt dare call if Q438, then CSX2665 will tell me its too short! Damned if you do, damned if you don't I suppose. Lol.
@ARandall70 It actually looks alot like F742 to be honest (except the grain hopper at :55 looks a little weird). Going to go catch 742 in a little though heard him call north clear somwhere. Just don't know where and what the lead engine was.
@csxcw44ac Not sure where they go north of Raleigh, but the Canadian grain hoppers are really common on these trains, as well as P-S covered hoppers of BNSF and its predecessors. They usually arent as clean as mine are but I dont have the time to weather the 400+ cars I have. I chose F741 over F742 for the name simply because the centerbeams on F742 are loaded, and I didnt have any loads for the cars. The trains are really similar, whatever goes north on one has to come back on the other.
@ARandall70 I missed F742 went to Apex and F729 was pulling in as F742 was leaving as I arrived at Apex. But 742 blasted it out of there and I couldn't catch him at Cary so...
From an old retired ATSF Locomotive Engineer. A beautiful layout. I saw a Coffee Pot Steamer in the background. 1948 to 1949 I use to throttle jerk an old 2-6-2 and 4-8-4 Baldwin Steamer. Great video :-)
Too long to be F741 lol more like Q438
