  • I use Hitec HS-5965MG in my Predator Gasser cyclic. The Hitec has 3 metal gears and one metal-karbonite gear. These are digital, coreless, ultra speed servos, will suit up to 1/4 scale. Never had any problems so far.

  • ds 8717 is the way to go, metal gears and plenty of power and speed for that big gasser of yours.

  • Hi buddy :)

Your issue is very clear. Your servos Futaba S3152 are very weak for gasser. They have nylon gears and only 3kg torq. when you make full collective , all the three of servo's gear stripped and you lost all of control on main rotor :( You should use JR Ds 821 at least. I have two Raptor 90 Gasser and using them withoun any problem. :)

  • correct !! the preditor is a heavy machine you need quality servo;s with no less than 15kg torq DO NOT USE DS821'S there prone to stripping . Align DS610 at least .

  • You are right buddy. I checked it after some hard turning . I made a crash cause of DS821 dont use them on your heavy machine. I must have metal gear at least. Align Ds610 will be very usefull for your heli..

  • Hi Mate,

I love your video. Where do you live?

Did you manage to get your Predator back in the air.

I live in Australia and fly a Logo 500. If you are ever over here let me know and we will go flying :)

    Paul.

  • On my opinion na pwersa yung collective control servo mo dahil sa biglaang bigay ng collective pitch. kaya naging dead weight. then the landing couse the other servo to be stripped down and also the battery due to hard landing.

  • Hi Ellion. I experienced a battery pack disconnection after the very few seconds of the first flight of my Predator Gasser. Fortunately nothing bad happened bacause it was only a few centimeters high. Maybe this was the cause of the crash. Vibration is very high in gasser engines, it is neccessary to be extremely careful with it. Thank you for sharing your experience and good luck fixing your heli.

  • i think you somehow stripped all 3 servos in the air when you pulled full collective to arrest the fast descent... from experience i strip gears in a servo when there is load or power to the servo... that's my 2 cents for today!

  • yah sana na record sa video sir.. by the way sir are you planning to fix it or buy a new kit?? goodluck sir..

  • hi ellion, most gas helicopters are well known to disconnect during flight especially when doing hard solid crack movements, e.g from a low collective pitch, to full conective pitch straight away, thats why most people go for the new electronic ones.

im not really sure what happened, it could have been radio interfierance, im not sure at all.

good luck getting it fixed ellion. must be expensive!

  • ouch!sayang sir hindi narecord sa video?
