This song makes me so calm, I never understand why, but it's so nice, like an orgasm on a rainy day with some aliens while we enjoy delicious sugar water under the sun. i love it.
@JackTheStriker How can you not like this? I do not understand why people cannot appreciate certain types of music, and appreciate other types. What is it in music that makes it good or bad to people? Assumingly, it is the basis of what they are conditioned to. However, does that mean you can be conditioned to like it? And what is it about it you do not like currently?
@MyChannel6096 It's just not to my taste. I don't enjoy listening to it. Is that wrong? I appreciate music, really I do, but that doesn't mean I have to enjoy listening to every piece of music there is out there. I personally don't like this music, sorry for having an opinion.
@JackTheStriker It's not bad having an opinion, lack of judgement and respect is, music isn't meant for everyone to understand it, that's why some people do not like listening to jazz or even Rachmaninoff, but saying something is crap just cause you can't percieve it properly is playing the immature ignorant, it ain't bad you don't enjoy it, it is bad you don't respect it, for instance, what would you think if I said football is only apes chasing a ball? (Which it is + strategy)
@JackTheStriker Well firstly, your opinion doesnt make it good or bad. Its basis is neutral. You simply cant appreciate it. Because you cannot appreciate it doesnt mean its crap in any sense. It just means you cant appreciate it, im sure there are many things you cannot appreciate. I never said you arent entitled to an opinion either, I simply asked why dont you like it. You assumed I said you shouldnt have an opinion.
@MyChannel6096 we all progress at a different rate than others, and some people are not in the proper state of mind to appreciate tool's more esoteric music. That doesn't make people who are any better or worse, just in a different place in their life, and their perception.
Tool when they first started out were really heavy and probably would have laughed at this music but they grew and changed. There is no right or wrong, only change and perception.
Believe what you will , That is all that matters If you have to argue your beliefs , then you most have doubt within your heart you will never be free
@ciquri mmm, again...all matter is condensed energy ≠ the total of energy is condensed matter. When you understand basic set theory you realice that the matter set is contained within the energy set and that, since the energy set is wider than the matter set because of the 2nd law of thermodynamics, there is plenty of energy to float around.
If any of you got the message of this song, I truly doubt you'd be arguing over its meaning or anything that Tool is trying to convey through it... We are all one consciousness, this universe is energy, energy is everything, and everything is energy. Stop arguing about spirituality and learn to understand it enough to not argue about it. And for Christians who believe in "God" arguing over this song, you have your commandments to abide by. You do things your way and spiritualists another. Amen
What makes our enviorment thrive and function my friend? Energy. The sun, in our case... There is no God. If you're seeing my comment as a religious piece of propaganda read again. "Everything" as we know it started from a single atom, or so the theory goes. If we are all truly "conscious" how would we all be experiencing it separately? All matter is condensed energy, and we are experiencing this "life" subjectively. May peace within yourself be on your path.
@MetalxN00b actually, to say that all matter is condensed energy is incorrect. A lot of energy does move to a state of concentration, but if you understand the second law of thermodynamics then you understand that a good deal of energy moves toward a state of diffusion (as opposed to concentration).
So crucify the ego before it's far too late to leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical. And you will come to find that we are all one mind capable of all that's imagined, and all conceivable.
You: Hey doc, I've been talking to this ghost. He's been telling me how to live my life, and how I've been wrong the whole time, and how we as people need to change.
@kileyboo1998 Actually yes he does, Satan believes in God because he knew God, I'm not trying to start a religious war on youtube or anything, I'm just saying.
@thatbastardson I guess I don't fit the typical "Tool fan" description because I am also a Christian. But I am also not the typical Christian either. I love and accept people of all backgrounds and religions, but I also strongly believe in God. I think God wants Christians to love and accept people regardless of what they believe, because THAT is what being a good Christian example is. Anyway, my point is, I don't know what you believe but if you like Tool you're automatically cool (continued)
@thatbastardson in my book. But I hope you also know that God loves you and I hope somehow you find your way to him one of these days. In regards to your comment, Us as humans...we are wrong. We will always be wrong. We DON'T know how to live our lives and we do need to change. Because we aren't perfect, and never will be. But we can try with each day to better ourselves and be a better person.
I master myself to this track, bait others with it too. I master myself and bait others with this song. Bait others, master myself. Master myself, bait others.
The first letter of a sentence should be capitalized. Also, a question mark should be used in place of a period so the reader can identify the sentence as a question, instead of a statement. You're welcome.

@youracocksucker I agree. Reflecting into myself present the greatest moments of my life. You don't need to be religious, spiritual... anything. Rofl have you even meditated? Wow it's people like you who helped TOOL become a band to point out your kind 90% of this planet full of fucktards with no personal motivation to reach inside and discover the true meaning of life... So sad this nation was based on advancing free spirit and we gave up spirituality all together and gave the government 115% command over us lets stop bickering over uneducated thoughts and fight for our rights as a species!!!
Categorize my kind. If you've discovered the true meaning of life, by all means, all of us fucktards are all ears. This nation, assuming that you're talking about The United States, (Youtube, and the internet in general are multi-national, incase you didn't know) is based on personal freedom and liberty. I'm not aware of any United States document that covers, "free spirit". Spirituality and government should be separate, and for good reason. Every thought is educated.
@crescendo2020 you speak of your own personal category you defend yourself using the intimidation method of your childhood from what you learned from your parent's own issues.
Do you get the feeling that I was attempting to intimidate you? I don't speak of any category. I was replying to your statement in which you used the phrase, "...your kind". I was curious as to what my kind was. Any parent issues that I have haven't came alive in any Youtube discussions. Sorry to disappoint.
It's sad to me that people think that they need to be impaired by drugs to enjoy music as good as this. No matter what anyone tells you, drugs are impairing you, not enlightening you. Sure, it might be fun, but that doesn't change the fact.
@crescendo2020 lol what are you talking about? i do lots of psychedelic drugs and i smoke weed everyday and im a hell of a lot more aware than half the blind fucking pieces of shit i know, the ones who dont use, who follow society's rules, who do exactly what there told. not saying anyone whos sober is blind but drugs have absolutely nothing to do with it. all they do is give you a different perspective and expand your concious thought.
If you think that drugs don't impair you, you're lying to yourself. I don't have any moral issue with drugs. I merely see things as they are. I never said that LSD makes one less aware, however, it does while someone is under the influence. I said that it permanently scars its user's brain. Decreased awareness could be a side-effect. An unwanted risidual acid trip could be another. Certainly I don't believe that non drug users are always more intelligent.
this songs meaning is constantly being interpreted ive something completely different by idiots. ive been listening to this song since i was in the fourth grade. this song plays every single day in my house. t00l's song's were written from maynard's thoughts, and chapter's from roman/ egyptian lore, and satanic bibles. then from lateralus to 10000 days maynards song were begining to practice more literate perspectives on life. so leave the thinking to the thinkers an just listen to the music
@MasterTheScape provide some further insight please on satanic bibles and lore, I would like to see you provide proof and show us all how enlightened you have come to be in understanding the music so much more than the rest of us.
Try reading the Law of One if you are into the meaning of life and meditation, its all on lawofone.info. Approach it with an open mind, it was an entity called Ra being channeled in 1981 to 1984.
I've got to get me some acid this year, time to trip...
Tool is a band that redefines and recreates a story that was in the past, and adding a sound a melody which we can define it easily. so, its like a guide, a manual, A TOOL.
@WhereTheyAre i can assure you i'm not adding nor making any ridiculous statements. im just inspired by Tool, and their music just revives me every time i feel down. thats it.
@iamacookie6 Tool borrows a lot of riffs from Rush and Black Sabbath. I wouldn't put them in a "genre of their own." Doing so requires you to ignore the great bands that came before them.
Tool is a continuation of the bands that came before them. They aren't bringing anything that new to the table.
@cestoiber117 Okay, man. Whatever you say. The members of Tool in interviews have stated that they were influenced by Rush and Black Sabbath, but I'm sure you're right. They were just lying.
@crescendo2020 These guys make it sound like they're playing underwater, which is especially awesome since themes like water and swimming often crop up in their songs (flood, swamp song, aenema, others that i'm blanking on).
They have many intricacies that go un-noticed. I realized that I've even missed a bunch, when I was listening to some of their songs with crisp headphones. It's extra amazing when a group brings more to the table for you, on songs that you've been listening to for sixteen years.
@crescendo2020 So true. I imagine someday I'll be some 80 year old grandma rocking out to Tool and still finding more things inside their songs to amaze me.
Pitch black room.....volume all the way up....laying on the floor after a solid night of working then drinking/smoking (the leftys of course)....this song....then this backdrop at fullscreen?! Fucking serenity defined.....
drugs are amplifiers - whatever your thoughts are about them or surrounding them, these are the thoughts which are amplified. Good advise below to be in comfortable surroundings as you are at ease. Use them sensibly and you may attain their full intension.
Maynard's music and his lyrics helps my emotions, as times I can feel sad I listen to A Perfect Circle, and when I'm angry I can just listen to some Undertow or the Opiate Album. Puscifer at times is funny but very different form all his other bands.
@kocaelwe88 yes but maybe in a controlled enviroment with a few close friends unless you wanna step it up a notch and just got for the full blown dmt experience you will leave the face of the earth and shit your pants but at the end of it you'll feel so privileged to have done so =)

this songs meaning is constantly being interpreted ive something completely different by idiots. ive been listening to this song since i was in the fourth grade. this song plays every single day in my house. t00l's song's were written from maynard's thoughts, and chapter's from roman/ egyptian lore, and satanic bibles. then from lateralus to 10000 days maynards song were begining to practice more literate perspectives on life. so leave the thinking to the thinkers an just listen to the music
MasterTheScape 2 months ago
@MasterTheScape provide some further insight please on satanic bibles and lore, I would like to see you provide proof and show us all how enlightened you have come to be in understanding the music so much more than the rest of us.

@MasterTheScape
Since the fourth grade? That's impressive! I've been listening to it since I was born, in 1982. I win.

T00L458 2 months ago 7
@T00L458 lol but the band is called tool cuz dicks are tools xd
MasterTheScape 2 months ago
@T00L458
What.
Can you elaborate?
(Just so i know you have a line of reasoning and not just putting random words together creating a mystery.)
WhereTheyAre 1 month ago
@WhereTheyAre i can assure you i'm not adding nor making any ridiculous statements. im just inspired by Tool, and their music just revives me every time i feel down. thats it.

@iamacookie6 i call this genre psychedelic metal
pipugwesajig 2 months ago
@iamacookie6 in fact, it pisses me off that I want to listen to more of this genre, but nothing satisfies me like them
InfinityDz 1 month ago
@iamacookie6 Tool borrows a lot of riffs from Rush and Black Sabbath. I wouldn't put them in a "genre of their own." Doing so requires you to ignore the great bands that came before them.
Tool is a continuation of the bands that came before them. They aren't bringing anything that new to the table.
EyeThirdThe 1 month ago
@EyeThirdThe From Rush and Black Sabbath? No. From King Crimson? Maybe. Just enjoy the music
cestoiber117 1 month ago
@cestoiber117 Okay, man. Whatever you say. The members of Tool in interviews have stated that they were influenced by Rush and Black Sabbath, but I'm sure you're right. They were just lying.
Retard.
EyeThirdThe 1 month ago
@EyeThirdThe Alright, you're right, sorry.
cestoiber117 1 month ago
Man, this shit is hard as fuck to play cleanly on drums. The drumming talent necessary to play it right is misleading to the way it sounds by ear.

@crescendo2020 danny carey...hardly able to be considered human.
ladicius 1 month ago
@crescendo2020 These guys make it sound like they're playing underwater, which is especially awesome since themes like water and swimming often crop up in their songs (flood, swamp song, aenema, others that i'm blanking on).
TehRavenclaww 1 month ago
@TehRavenclaww
They have many intricacies that go un-noticed. I realized that I've even missed a bunch, when I was listening to some of their songs with crisp headphones. It's extra amazing when a group brings more to the table for you, on songs that you've been listening to for sixteen years.
crescendo2020 1 month ago
@crescendo2020 So true. I imagine someday I'll be some 80 year old grandma rocking out to Tool and still finding more things inside their songs to amaze me.

drugs are amplifiers - whatever your thoughts are about them or surrounding them, these are the thoughts which are amplified. Good advise below to be in comfortable surroundings as you are at ease. Use them sensibly and you may attain their full intension.

So crucify the ego, before it's far too late
To leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical,
And you will come to find that we are all one mind
Capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable.
Just let the light touch you
And let the words spill through
And let them pass right through
Bringing out our hope and reason ...
before we pine away.

Maynard's music and his lyrics helps my emotions, as times I can feel sad I listen to A Perfect Circle, and when I'm angry I can just listen to some Undertow or the Opiate Album. Puscifer at times is funny but very different form all his other bands.
