Fair enough that PR gets down shields faster then AR, but I still would prefer to use AR because all you need to do is practice your frag techniques and then you use frag grenades to get rid of shields toen finish with AR. Just like the grenade and shoot with the BR. Just one good grenade and the BR is an instant kill with headshot. God i love the BR :) lol

@gamerx112 dude you can take out a guy faster with a frag and a magnum. Just throw a grenade and get a headshot just after it explodes and it really seems like an instant kill. 1,000,000 times faster than taking down shields with plasma rifle.

@gamerx112 lol dude i am sorry but you are such a moron XD If you can throw a good frag, even if they dodge it it will still hit their shields. The magnum overall is a 5-shot kill, and witha grenade it can be 2 shot. BR is much better, though. Just a good grenade and 2 shots will ALWAYS kill a person lol. It takes too long to switch between pulse rifle and BR to get th kill, so throwing a frag is much easier. Plus, PR's aim sucks lol

plasma rifle takes out a shield faster than you can throw a grenade. when the grenade explodes, you will be getting t-bagged.

If they are far away and the PR cant hit because of the random firing, BR and grenade is much better. i guess maybe if they're closer and too close to grenade PR is better... So i guess we're both right in a way :D

Did you know...

If you tap the trigger when wielding the plasma rifle, you can cause it to shoot up to twice as fast?

When you tap it, the game doesn't count the time from the last bullet fired to the bullet fired when you pull the trigger again into your rate of fire. It looks like your wielding one of the brute plasma rifles in H2 :o

I just went online in a local game. The AR kills faster then the Plasma Rifle by itself. And its harder to hit people with the PR bullets, so you're better off using the AR if your not in beat down range.

Actually, if you are holding a Battle Rifle, you can drain shields with 3-4 shots from the plasma, switch to the BR, and finish them off with a headshot much quicker than either AR spray, BR Four Shot, or even Carbine 7 shot.

nice weapon review TMP , however when im in a team match , i like dualing with plasma pistol AND plasma rifle with a BR as my second weapon. At least when im in team slayer. The trick is to get used to dropping the dual weapon and throwing nades and then picking it back up. Well it makes for very interesting gameplay anyway , i love it!

I would have suggested a pistol as a good weapon to duel with the plasma rifle. 3 plasma pistol shots and one pistol to the head. It also gives you a defence if your attacked from range because of the pistols range.

ever since TU2 came out i started using plasma rifle duel wield with the pistol if i dont have a br, the duel wield plasma rifle is still better than assult rifle in terms w/o close range

I may have to start swapping the plasma rifle for the assault rifle more. Assault was made for medium range though, the plasma rifle was only made for close range. Say someone is holding a plasma rifle within AR range, the AR would probably win. But the Plasma Rifle is still good for close range. Time to start grabbing it on Guardian.
