no actually it is the battery i have curosion on my bat and it sounds exactly like that when it dies and then i get a boost it starts right up drive for 20 minz and its good
Its not the battery because u can hear that the car turns on and the dash lights up! I have a 2001 Hyundai Elantra and mine just started doing the same thing 3 days ago. I tried jumping it just to rule it out. I had just put in a new alternater less than a year ago. Its the stupid starter try banging on it a little and see if that gives her a go. If not a new starter is about 150-200. good luck
@meggyewill Its the Battery notice at the end when nothings showing none of the dash lights are on. Its a Battery issue I have a 2006 Elantra it was the battery that went bad not the starter.
it may not be his battery this happened to me once, i went under the hood never knew what was wrong, so jiggled my battery wires banged on the fuse box a couple times and sure enough she started and has ever since.
it sound like the battery is really low or your starter's solenoid as failed. most likely the starter though. since it sdoes sound like its sending power then it rules out the switches ans fuses.
Charge the battery up, then start it. I heard they have all sorts of problems. I worked on different vehciles, americans, euros, koreans & japanese. TOYOTA is the best, number one in the world.
A dead battery and you may want to check the Starter to make sure that It's working right and not needing replaced. Also make sure the wheels are Straight, because sometimes that will keep your Car from Starting. :) Good Luck and I hope It runs again. ^^
battery issues, or maybe a bad stater. but most likey cause for that sound is a dead battery, depends on how long you have had that battery most last 6 years or so.. if it was new and it died either you left something on or something is wrong with the battery not holding its charge, i had the same problem with a new battery i got a few times, it didnt hold charge
yeah, i would say its your battery, because the relay for the starter, stutter's slower and slower as the voltage from the battery decreases, plus like the comment below, if your alarm isnt working, it's just more indication that leads to the battery....

Battery, or starter solenoid. I would have to shoot that car if it made that noise every day. 0:01 - 0:04!

My mustang had that... turns out it was the battery. Then a couple months later the alternator blew... After changing both, never had a single issue.
