  • @supergecko100 the guy scooped (gave up) cuz he saw no way he could win

  • when he was at 11 in the first game, why did the game just end?

  • @Supergecko100 Boggemes conceded because he couldn't deal with his opponent's threats. He kept a hand without lands that produce black mana and ended up not drawing any throughout the game, which I assume inhibited the plays he could've made. For the interest of time, many players concede when they know their opponents will win.

  • I'm glad that these two understand that winning is important but the main thing is to have a fun sportsman like time when doing so.

  • They should bring this to Canada! XD

  • Elspeth is still better than any other planeswalker.

  • @Valolth what about Jace?

  • I didn't even know these even existed! Thats pretty cool.

  • so is there any formats that you can use your own deck? or do u have to do the whole thing where they give u the packs then u gotta make the deck out of the cards you got..

  • @reaperjc002 Constructed uses your own deck (Constructed can be Standard, Vintage, Legacy, ect), sealed uses packs where you construct your deck on-site, and draft would be cards being passed around and being picked out of the ones offered. That's the easiest way I can think of explaining.

  • @reaperjc002 the only gametype where you use opened packs ins draft and sealed, and the rest you use your own deck. the other formats are: legacy, vintage, standard, modern, extended, and some others i prob forget lol

  • can you make money playing magic???

  • how old do u have to be to get in pro tour?

  • @geckoboy485 in any pro tour and tournement is 13

  • whats the price people pay for cards , and pay in total for decks ?

like , more of an answer than "a lot" or "not a lot" :D

    Thanks all .

  • @TheGenetic1

Alright, your boster pack will run you about 3 bucks, a fat pack will run you, about 20, and a deck bulder will run you 40. ( at the place i go to, i dont know if its different in other places) the value of a deck depends on the cards that make it up, lands are usualy free, and the value of a card depends on its rarity and how good it is.

  • @1223339 ok thanks

  • @1223339 It's 4 dollars for a booster here, 20 for a deck builder, 40 for a fat pack here.

  • Magic the Gathering emerged in lieu of the Baseball card crash.

  • @redcat608

wrong, the two had nothin to do with eachother. It actualy emerged with the rise of video game conventions, the game was designed to be played in down time at gaming conventions.

  • what sensational micro they have

  • Black and red combo all the way.

  • yu-gi-oh is just a fuckin' copy of MTG. ....

  • beavus, i lol'd

  • @blackmetalcowbell sure thing man xD

  • Ahem, Mass Calcify. That is all.

  • this is really cool thing to play...but on the other way,i see that magic the gathering is a copy of yugioh traiding card game...don't get me wrong but i thinink that this game have all the same gameplay as yugioh soo..... :)

  • @beavus1000 magic has been out WAAAAY before yu gi oh

  • @TheSuperAnarchy seriously??!! give me that information

  • @beavus1000 Funny story, yu-gi-oh came out after MTG. MTG 1995 and yu-gi-oh 1998 (in japan) and 2000(in amercias)

  • @beavus1000 ! lol magic has been out WAY LONGER than yugioh hahaha i think magic came out early 90s?? mybe late 80?? dont know for shure but yugioh came out late 90s to early 2000s :)

  • @SampleMehard

    magic came out in 1993

  • @beavus1000 Magic was actually the first trading card came in the world. =]

  • @RectumPilum i didn't have no idea about it...thanks x( ... xDDDD

  • i like lands cards

  • Why is the video quality so poor? Just wondering lol

  • to be honest i like casual magic play better, imo of course.

  • i really don't get this...isn't it the best deck and lucky draw wins? How can you be good at this?spent a lot of money for good cards and everyone can be as good right?

  • @Dialga355 well u gotta kno when to play a card an wait an sandbag it for something that might win u the game or lose u the game...magic takes alot of skill about thinking what ur gona do but also thinkin about what ur opponents gona do....u can have the best cards in ur deck an not win u have to have some type of skill..i made a deck based off of nuttin at all an i let my cousin use one of my actual thought an made out decks an i destroyed him because i know how to use the deck better then him

  • @Dialga355 there's always some luck involved, but skill will usually beat luck, most of the time. the skill is in building a winning deck & a winning sideboard (the hardest part). Then of course there's knowing what's the best card to play each turn, when to play & when not to, when to attack, when to block, and probably several more aspects of the game that I'm not thinking of, off the top of my head.

but a skilled player will beat an unskilled player probably 8-9 times out of 10

  • @Lightmane321 yeah my comment was before i started playing :) I get it now

  • @Dialga355 LOL. I thought the exact same thing when I started playing.

A fifteen year old did win it all, after playing for just 1 year, so it can happen.

Lets see. 1 out of how many million? ; )

  • what decks are they using? i saw black red and green mana on one side

  • blue cards ftw

  • the only thing i didnt like about this is that almost all of their decks are the same ya know ??? i understand whats good is good but it still sucks ta see repetitiveness, great decks tho!!!

  • @drk6969 All the competitve play down to the FNM level everything is the same, thats why EDH is very popular among competitive players, if you want to enjoy something different try EDH

  • BLACK AND GREEN MANNA ALL THE WAY

  • how can u qualify for a pro tour???

  • @AnvilWitch There are a few ways of getting into one: * By finishing in the Top 50 of the previous Pro Tour. * Through a Pro Tour Qualifier (PTQ) tournament, a tournament open to those not already qualified. * By finishing in the Top 16 of a Grand Prix, a tournament open to all players...

  • @Alicabob wow i thought this would be magic tricks, but no, grown men playing with cards that children normally play with...

  • @aceofclubskid wow i thought this would be a useful comment but instead its a grown man trolling over the iternet..........-_-

  • @crazedcody1 actually I'm 14, and not a troll but i really am surprised that someone could play with cards with pictures on them for fun at such an old age, why is it fun, i am interested.

  • @aceofclubskid I stumbled on a Yu gi o/ MTG tournament, and saw a bunch of grown ass people play. I can't wrap my mind around how they could play this game for fun either. I still have decks of MTG from the 90s bc I liked the art not to play though. It's just weird to me. More so the Yugio one

  • @AnvilWitch

    * By finishing in the Top 50 of the previous Pro Tour.

    * Through a Pro Tour Qualifier (PTQ) tournament, a tournament open to those not already qualified.

    * By finishing in the Top 16 of a Grand Prix, a tournament open to all players.

  • @AnvilWitch

    * By being at least at level 3 in the Magic Pro Players Club. Players qualifying this way are said to be on the "Gravy Train."

    * By having a top 100 DCI rating either in the Total category or in Category which corresponds to the format, the Pro Tour Qualifiers were held in.

  • When does this take place ( I wanna know when to watch it next year)

  • @Ktsumi101 Here are the dates for the 2011 pro tour season:

    Paris, France: February 10–13

    Nagoya, Japan: June 10-12

    Philadelphia, PA USA: September 2-4

San Francisco, CA USA: November 17-20 (Worlds)

  • @Alicabob

    Thank you very much ^_^

  • @Alicabob thanks alot

but which format will be playied at the pro tours this year?

are PTQs open to everyone, and are there PTQs in every country or region?

    u gonna post the tours

    thanks again

  • @Alicabob i think the nagoya japan one will be called of lol

  • @shoobibear44 awww dude that was baaad XD

  • i've run tests of my Green Red deck, and my finisher with devour 2 can get up to and well over 400,000/400,000

  • @darknurd78 Doesnt matter Jund aint in standard anymore. At the time of playing however Jund would have topped Vampires. Bloodbraid elf was just TOO good.

  • lol

  • gotta love goblin ruinblaster

  • Are they both using the same decks?

  • @6161vincent basically yes they are both jund decks (:

  • Damn this dude is like the jesus of magic ( the germain guy )

  • What would be a good beginner's starting deck?

  • @hocplyr98

see one you like, if its more then one, flip a coin.. lol i suggest a M11 starter.. Scars suck ass

  • @hocplyr98 go with the phyrexian poison deck in scars its amazing.

  • Every time he threw down a ruinblaster the other guy had "you son of a bitch" on his face lol

  • What are they noting?

  • @jilloplo life totals

  • It reply bothers me when people bash magic for being "boring." I find baseball and football unbearably boring to watch, yet it's all anyone in my school ever talks about.

  • I like it when they gather the magic

  • They play magic like they are zombies... all their moves are calculated and stiff... sorta creepy.

  • @The0Burger0King thats the way anyone thats good at anything does something. its called concentration

  • Im from the U.S., fuck gall

  • ive been playing this game for a solid week so I have little to no clue whats going on

  • @jrckr1 there are totoials on youtube and tons of stuff on the wizzards of the coast website in case you dont already know. i was confused when i first watched a match. just keep the rules in mind and try to follow along.

  • the only thing that sucks about magic, is the drafts... i never get to build a good deck... but some how i get fairly far in tournaments.. its such a good game

  • They should use those tables like they do in poker, so we can see (and read) their hole cards. I don't know all the cards out there. Would be so much better.

  • @tomdewilde1 would be nice if they had like floating stats over the cards on the table like 3/3 etc :P a bit of CGI but would make it alot more fun for spectators to watch

  • it's too bad all these videos are so low-res i can't see any of the cards

  • thumbs up if you like black cards

  • @Trooper19783 my fave colour :D

  • @Trooper19783 i LOVE black cards. almost every deck i make is black or black/X color

  • Won two of three games today with a deck I just threw together with all my Black cards, minus creatures without abilities. Felt good against his Burn deck he had so meticulously set up.

As for the video, I wish the quality was better so I could see the cards.

  • Won two of three games today with a deck I just threw together with all my Black cards, minus creatures without abilities. Felt good against his Burn deck he had so meticulously set up.

  • Look at these hot strapping men. I bet there's more sex here than Las Vegas. Fuck!

  • LIGHTNING HELIX OH MY GOD!!!!!!!

  • them boys looks like them murderers i tells yah!@

  • I've been playing Magic since Tempest game out which I believe was somewhere between 95-97 but I been hooked. I love the gameplay and the artwork

  • @MightyMightyJuggalo Have you read any on MTG novels? They're really good.

  • @xXinsaneboyXx Yes I have. I have three of them from the...shit I know I'm gonna spell it wrong but from the Lorwn set...it had Shadowmoor in it but I have the three books from that block if you know what I'm talking about but yeah they are actually pretty good, I thought it was just gonna be a crappy book for them to make money off of but they actually did really good with them.

  • @MightyMightyJuggalo Well i currently have agents of artifice which is the jace beleren novel and purifying fire which is chandras' novel.

  • the tournaments would be much easier to watch if there was an HUD of some sort, showing the cards in both hands, and whats on the table.

  • This is a great game. It's as good and as strategic as chess or Go. I wish I could play more and play in all of these cool tournaments! I think there are hundreds of thousands of dollars in prize money!

  • @924142707 Not to mention WAAAAAY more strategic then poopy Yu-Gi-Oh for the love of God I dont know why I stopped playing magic to play that stupid game for a year...what was I thinkin

  • what do the 5 guys standing behind the table do?

  • @iansquared3 judges, recording etc etc.

  • how much cash do you get for winning?

  • @EziixPked at a pro tour, there is around $230,000 in cash prizes and you can win up to $40,000..

  • @EziixPked I think it depends on the tournament, though I cant say for sure because I never been in one but I know I got one of those cards with a pro player on it and on the back it said he had accumalated over 100,000 bucks. Not to shabby for a card game

  • wtf just happened lol

  • was this on tv and if so what network?

  • what the minimum libray size these days?

  • @kriliden 60

  • @triplemrc thanks my nooby friend said 80 i didn't believe him

  • how did the first game end?

  • @DrZiggyzoo

Too bad you will have a hard time going to all the places than people who "Haven't done anything with their life than play some card game." Idiot and loser fit the bill for you.

  • I love football, baseball and MTG.

    Screw the haters.

  • @Exesta definatly not for you then, the game is very fun to p[lay though if you know wat oyur doing

  • @DrZiggyzoo lol they make more money playing magic than you do going to your job

  • mana rapped! turn 1..its the worse jund ftw

  • @DrZiggyzoo Bro, I'm a pre-med student. I've dabbled in day trading as a way of making money. I've literally been EVERYWHERE in the world. I can say I've done more in my life then you. I still feel that MTG is an interesting game and I wouldn't mind playing it when I have time.

  • god damnit jund vs jund. so boring

  • im bit drunk but im pretty sure i love mtg

  • horrible lighting

  • @DrZiggyzoo Ok, that's nice. People are enjoying their life playing this game. There is no need for you to diss them.

  • its really unfortunately that ther will always be people who r so insecure about themself that they have to diss people who plays card games or do activities that are "not cool". like srsly u need to grow up.

  • @DrZiggyzoo lolumad?

  • they have commentary? lol.

  • I want one of those tables that they are playing on. Probably only for tournament play though.

  • I want to start playing this game. What the fuck is going on? It looks fun though

  • @NickTKazmierczak its more fun building your deck than playing trust me....you will enjoy magic sooooo much

  • @NickTKazmierczak It is. From making decks to goin to events its the shit. If ur thinkin of goin into it, definitely do.

  • why do the games look like shit of it's 2010..

  • lol so im watching this and i have never played magic so im sitting here thinking what the hell is going on? i want to learn how to play =]

  • i rather waste my time on this than on xbox live sitting in a bean bag chair making my brain melt play Halo. In MTG you have to think thats what cool

  • @atariman7 i agree 100% with you, you don't have to be smart to play a video game.... if you are stupid in magic you lose, hardcore, all the time.... i have seen it happen many time

  • this game was epic. I own a pure white soldier deck but got knocked out at the begining of tournament.

  • Actually MTG is very very nerdy, but why is that so bad? I play it often. I don't mind being a nerd. Besides, if you get good enough at this game and start winning big tournaments, the less nerdy it seems.

  • This aint Nerdy AT ALL! I luv it!

  • Yay This game is cool I actuly own a black lotus^^

  • @Raudszusable Your a noob.

  • It's like football (or soccer for you US guys), it's so extremely boring to watch 'less you enjoy it and know the rules. I for one cannot stand watching football; gall rises in my throat as soon as I even think about it, yet I can watch this without feeling even a tad bored. It's quite amazing how far interest will repel boredom.

  • @OrganicShade

I just like down talking mexico. GERMANY FTW.

  • @OrganicShade im from US and i have no idea what gall means

  • @OLAxD1sTanc3

That would be "bile" for you americans.

  • @OrganicShade lol

  • @OrganicShade I live in america and hate football :D

  • @OrganicShade wow this game is still around i remember going to spencers in the mall and stealing packs of cards to play this game back in 1994....

  • @DarrenMason31 petty theft you must be so cool!!!!!! Not.

  • @OrganicShade

I agree. Its fun to get on youtube/tv and watch the tourneys but some things like soccer for me (except for world cup) are extremly boring.

  • I agree with Nisslas90

  • the great thing about the 40k purse is that it is reasonably cheap to build that deck

  • MTG is an awesome game. Every singel part of it is fun. From unpacking u'r booster packs, customizing ur deck to playing. I love it.

  • @Nisslas90 agree!!!

  • @Nisslas90

i just got back into it man, purely cause of they reason...plus i won £500 in a kamigawa tournament years ago, but your the type of guy that makes the game worth playing, im spending £100 on boosters/decks from the legal sets tomorrow man, while magic is considered "nerdy" i feel privileged to meet people like yourself because everyone i've came across in tournaments gets a long with each other, cant say the same about football(or soccer if your american)

  • @Nisslas90 its not fun since tarmogoyf.

  • Love MtG...I like watching Pro Players especially, but I showed this to my friend, and he was like, "Jesus dude, this is boring." ._.

Well,I guess it really is, but I think its interesting to say the least. :3

  • @JohnForester15

Ya, it's only interesting if you know the game. I for one ENJOY watching these.

  • @JohnForester15

It's so slow paced. I put a magic card, I end. I put another magic card, I end. I put another magic card. I summon, but I can't attack, I end. I attack for 3 points. Wooooo. Oh wait, you blocked, noting happens.

So we just wasted 20 minutes to decide nothing happens to either of us.

  • @anthcybo

The strategy behind these games is unfathomable.

It's hard to say that nothing happens when both of these great minds are pitted against one another.

  • Idiot.

  • Comment removed

  • Hogan actually calls the match. Something hardly ever did.

  • @bjjartist bad grammer, but other than that u have a great point
