Speakers are OK..not horrible. They get the job done..and if you want some high end speakers then this wont have that. A solution many be some headphones or external speakers. If you are a sound enthusiast then you wont like them..for the rest it wont be huge issue worth throwing a fit about.

Got my laptop last week, very happy with it. My big problem was that they sent me a dutch OS first even though I specifically asked for an english OS. Took me almost 2 months and 15+ hours on the phone with sony customer service to get my new one, and they still haven't picked up the old one. All that is just sony stuff though, my experience with vaio is that they're not too difficult with getting it fixed (they had to build me a new one) and the laptop itself is awesome :) Use it for 3D a lot.

i had acer aspire 5920g omfg the left side is buring you can cook eggs on there. when i play fps games online you use buttons WASD and bus fucking palm is buring i usually stop and put my hand up and its freaking hot no matter where i put the laptop. on the table in the bed the fans are soo shit. i have this laptop and its really good. i would never buy taiwan acer ever again

In my case F11 is already calibrated, I have fabrics color profil and I think calibration is not needed. In this video you make widest colour dynamics and this coulours are better for looking like HDR images. I will not change my profile, when I looking in pictures from my cam colors are 100% real, its a sony! ;)

Hi, I bought a F11S1E this week, largely because of the videos you made, so thanks. :) When you did the clean install, did the program that dimms the screen work properly? And the blueray player? I had/have some troubles with the battery checker you can get off VAIO support europe. I also have some problems with strangely low download speeds. Have you experienced either of those problems? Great review UK friend. I am currently on a Dell XPS16 (1645) and you are indeed correct that the XPS has some problems. It is a very nice keyboard, just like that Sony Vaio F.

Hey there. If you have the XPS, call Dell and make sure they send you a 130W power adapter. Then update to the latest BIOS to resolve your throttling issues. For more info see the notebookreview forum XPS owners lounge.

It's i'm guessing 5 cm to the left of the webcam and the official specifications list the mic as stereo.

Sent. It comes with no driver disks at all, though it gives you the option of making your own recovery dvd's (you'll need two blank dvds for this).

Yes just download them from the Vaio Support website. They're all there.

Sent. I personally performed a clean install and i had no hissing noise.

If you keep the default installation and have a hissing noise, go to the sounds options recording properties for the mic and check "listen to this device". Should stop it.

I have the F(X). I would opt for that due to the screen, though technically I didn't NEED an i7 I also still wanted one :)

I wouldn't know about the quality of the F(V) screen, but a lot of US users are unhappy with their glossy screens. If it's the same one, I'd steer clear.

Thanks for putting up a review video, was useful. I've received the same UK laptop yesterday. But i've noticed, compared to my Dell Inspirion 6400 laptop which is 4 years old, the screen is corrible. I was streaming youtube videos and the colours are terrible, overly rich and not sharp at all compared to the dell which is nice, sharp and clear, perfect. Is this my laptop or normal? Sending you the colour calibration in a moment. Which exact model do you have? Only the F11(X),(Z) and (S) have the premium screens and the profile will only apply to them.

The colours on mine are easily the best i've had on a laptop yet. Keep in mind it's not glossy, so if that's a requirement for you then this laptop won't suit.

I'm sure you can find a reseller online who will be willing to ship it to you, just keep in mind it will be A LOT more expensive even at standard UK prices than the American models. You will also have to add shipping and additional import duties/tax ontop of that.

I'm almost sure the profile won't work for you, since it's a completely different model and (most likely) screen but I sent it to you just in-case.

You'll need a Spyder or other brand calibration tool to create one specific to your screen and ambient light requirements. or maybe a fellow FW user who has set one up.

I downloaded all the drivers on a USB hard-drive and booted up. Some are not included in Windows (such as the Intel 6200 Wireless). I installed everything anyway, even if Windows had a default.
