Wow, it's like this song and Generations are just meant to be together. I've always wondered why Generations isn't more popular...maybe because there are so many good Star Trek movies to pick from? But I've always really loved it. Nice work!!
Very nice choice of both images and music. I'm a fan of VNV Nation and currently working on a special project, i would like to have someone as talented as you to contact me for help on visuals. send contacts to: djboothmario@gmail.com best regards !
That is really well done! I can't say it's my favourite Trek movie, but VNN Nation set to images from any Trek movie is awesome. You did a great job combining images and music, I love the exploding Bird of Prey in particular and the view from the skylight.
Wow! Apparently I'm not the first to come up with the idea of making a video to VNV nation songs using clips from star trek movies. I always thought that star trek - nemesis would be a good starting point for the song "Electronaut"
I never did like the premise for the demise of the Enterprise-D. After their encounter with the Borg the shields were configured to auto-modulate and rotate frequency. With that, there would be no way a Borg tractor beam could lock onto the ship, much less a Klingon torpedo or disruptor pierce the shields of a Federation ship.
The song title IS Further and when Ted made this video it was out of print and hardly anyone knew what the correct name was, in clubs it was generally referred to as End of Days. Thanks to Amazon you can now download the entire VNV catalog.
and VNV IS still the best industrial/EBM/goth band on the planet. The 10,000 people I saw them with in Leipzig this summer agree.
the trek movie with the nexus bothered me somehow, if the planet they crashed landed on was the same picard and kirk returned to from the nexus, was the same planet the very nexus band went thru, would those on the planet still be in the nexus, so ... its just paradoxes and nexus fantasies?
That theory would only work if you hold the belief that time cannot be altered. Once a person from the future returns to a point in the past, physically speaking they are no longer a part of the future time line, they would exist solely in the past time line. Therefore any alterations they make to the timeline they now exist in, would not prevent them from having gone back in the first place.
Wonderfully chosen clips and assembly on this music video, congratulations. I think this vid is better than the Generations movie itself, which I liked only so-so. This and Saviour (Vox) are my two favourite VNV Nation songs.
Why wasn't Q in any of the new movies?? It would have made an amazing plot due to the fact they could have done anything , go anywhere travel in time ect ect., I just do not see how they could have left him out? hes basicaly a main character, 1st and last episode? could have put trippy scenes and good music like undiscovered country and wrath of khan
Well i think the song fit the movie to a T the song about end of days and everything coming to a end and with the Video you did just that i love VNV Nation and i Love Star Trek so putting the two together made me really happy at 5 am in the monring
Well the point of the song was about the end of the world, I felt the repeating parts were important to the point of the song. But thanks for the compliment. My other vids don't repeat anything haaa haa.
@thadiusblack The repeated chorus kinda reminds me of a radio broadcast that was put on repeat years ago even though there's no one to listen to it anymore.
I agree. That really irked me, too. The 1701-D could go toe-to-toe with the Borg, the Romulans, etc... only to be taken down by a single Bird of Prey.
They had to take it out though to make room for the E. After all, Paramont was going to allow the new movie crew to travel around in the same ol ship from the season.

Even though I'm not a fan of music vids, this was actually quite well done, and the song fitted the clips perfectly! Well done! :D
I really think the destruction of Veridian 3 (the planet) is one of the most shocking, haunting Trek moments. Ever.
And Kirk did die too easily.

After Generations, star trek TNG was never the same for me.
Alstom1995 4 years ago
Kirk's death didn't do him justice in the slightest and the Enterprise D, after everything it's been through was destroyed far too easily!
