I got a very dark purple dye (Special Effects 'Pimpin Purple') and I was to mix a tiny bit of it with a lot of conditioner to create a light pastel purple. Would that work?

In my personal opinion, hair colours like that only seem to work if you're beautiful. If I did something like that to my hair, everyone would cross the street to avoid me xD Anyway, you pull it off really well.

It's lucky you got ur shipment from extended lengths, there are soooo many complaints against them (bbb, even fb page) We didn't get our last order, no refund, NO response whatsoever to emails so I recommend any site but theirs. fyi, we use beauty bailout, took a while though. Just buyer beware. Great hair tho!

@mirrlove If you find the right bleach and don't rush the process, it's fine. Supermarket bleaches kill your hair (L'oréal, Garnier etc...) but Directions and Stargazer barely do ANY damage.

@mirrlove Actually, Manic Panic has a very similar color and the best thing about this brand is that the dye itself is actually beneficial to your hair so that even if you have to bleach it your hair will still be healthy.

@mirrlove if the hair isn't already overly processed, you can get it up to a level 10/11 over a couple of months. Double process lighten then shampoo cap every 2 weeks, tone with a violet/platinum color to neutralize orange tones, and get keratin conditioning treatments every 4-6 weeks. That should help the hair's integrity. I have black hair and my hair is pale blonde. I'm a hairdresser too.

So, either have a friend help u bleach it, after reading the instructions.. Usually equal parts bleach/peroxide... OR have a stylist bleach it and then use the pravana yourself. That would cut down the cost, but still have your hair in good condition. AND, u can keep growing it long! Lol! =)

Your hair came out pretty, with just winging it...cudos! However ( not to be that blah person on utube) BUT u must get your hair to a level 9 at least to have it look like your blond that u started with.... Not 7. 7 is dirty blond/ light light brown. 10 is the blondest blond. In the UK it goes to a level 12. I'm a cosmetologist, and just wanted to let those who try to do it themselves know.

@Smurfy281 Hey! yes, you do need to have a very light base for they dye for it to come out as well as hers did. Yes it is the purple that makes it grey, just make sure you only use a little because otherwise it will be more purple. Depending on your natural hair colour, it shouldn't be too hard to keep up. Let your roots get to about one cm then bleach them, the time taken will vary depending on how dark your hair is and then just top up your roots with the mixture :)

@Smurfy281 (ran out of room) also, if your hair has washed otu a lot, dye all of your hair again or if you like it lighter, then create a lighter mixture than you did before so that your roots blend in with the rest of your hair and depending on the previous state pf your hair, it's not too bad. If your hair is already blonde it won't be too bad but if you have dye build up, then it will be very hard to bleach through it. if your hair is natural brown, it won't be too bad.

@Smurfy281 It should bleach fairluy quickly just go easy on it and condition it loads afterwards. So leave conditioner on it for an hour. as for the dye mixture itself it's actually nourishing your hair as it's made up of mostly conditioner! So, good luck with it, i hope it goes well for you <3
