That doesn't make sense. Ever since I first started church nursery school, I was taught that God loves me just as I am, just as my mom and dad love me, no matter what. So why on earth would a good and loving God create ten percent of people with a sex drive oriented toward the same gender, and at the same time condemn them for hell for it? The logic of condemning people for how they were born is just backward.
It's like when they used to blame lepers or mentally ill people, claiming that God was punishing them. Why should I believe that I'm sick or sinful or going to hell for something I didn't choose and can't change? I don't buy that. It's not proven that people are born gay, but it's also not proven that people are born straight, either, but no one challenges them about it. And it's not unnatural, there are 450 animal species that parcipate in homosexual courtship, mating, and parenting.
God doesn't punish gay people, not that I've seen. A lot of people think that AIDS is God's punishment, but I don't believe in a sadistic God who thinks up ways to punish us. He doesn't tell us when we're doing something wrong through cruelty. That's the wrong image of God, the one that Jesus came to correct. I believe that suffering is a sucky part of life, everyone's life. AIDS also hurt alot more straight than gay people, including millions of childrens.
And that "Go and Sin no more" phrase, which applies to God, others, and yourself, as hurt, doesn't seem to link to homosexuality: How is love between two people a sin? Love isn't about gender; it's about two souls uniting. Think about John's story with the woman taken in adultery. I assume you know Genesis Nineteen? That's the most common story that people view as homosexuality and link it to sinning. But, you know what I think? I think it more of the story not being about homosexuality, but about rape. If the angels in the story were female, and the men of Sodom said they wanted to 'know' them against their will, would people claim that story shows heterosexuality is a sin? I don't change the way passages are, Yungin, I am just looking at it without a homophobe bias.

It's a great song, that shows - of a child's point of view, which I like the most - that gay men can be good fathers too, and that, if a child is raised like that, can handle the bullying and be quiet all right with the situation.

That doesn't make sense. Ever since I first started church nursery school, I was taught that God loves me just as I am, just as my mom and dad love me, no matter what. So why on earth would a good and loving God create ten percent of people with a sex drive oriented toward the same gender, and at the same time condemn them for hell for it? It's not proven that people are born gay, but it's also not proven that people are born straight, either, but no one challenges them about it. And it's not unnatural, there are 450 animal species that parcipate in homosexual courtship, mating, and parenting.

God doesn't punish gay people, not that I've seen. A lot of people think that AIDS is God's punishment, but I don't believe in a sadistic God who thinks up ways to punish us. He doesn't tell us when we're doing something wrong through cruelty. That's the wrong image of God, the one that Jesus came to correct. I believe that suffering is a sucky part of life, everyone's life. AIDS also hurt alot more straight than gay people, including millions of childrens.

And the same would go for couples who have sex before the wedding, who betray each other, or people who sin and don't go to confession (which, as far as I know, only catholics do).
So hell must be very crowded.
And Heaven very empty.

I understand, the Bible claims it as an abomination: It meant unclean and impure. Leviticus describes and ancient code of cleanliness and ritual purity. It forbade sex between men because Jewish people of that time thought it was unclean - Not because those things were evil or wrong in themselves. St.Paul, Romans Fourteen-Fourteen: "I know and am persuaded in the lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it unclean."

I'm catholic as well, or at least I was raised that way. But I feel that being homo- or bisexual is not a choice for most people, and its something you're born with. So, if there is a God (I'm still a little undecided towards my faith due to it being ruined by the fire-and-brimstone teachers at a private school), I believe that he would make us how he wants us to be, and perfect in His eyes. You should love who you love, because love has no gender.
