They don't sound Swedish at all , that's why I asked in the first place , and actually the "ig" you're talking so lightly about could be the prevention of lawsuits on copyright infringements :)

@thelegend255 The Nobel Prizes have been, and continue to be, awarded in Sweden. The Ig Nobel Prizes have always been awarded in Cambridge, Massachusetts. These two award ceremonies are not the same thing.

@Dragongo No, for the most part this is real research, sometimes research that has actual value really sounds silly when you describe it out of context.

All the scientists I know have an incredible sense of humor and also love to talk about science, and it's incredibly refreshing to be able to make jokes about science topics in a room full of people who don't just go glassy eyed when you do.
