The movie was ok. But unfortunately missed out so much from the far-superior novel. They messed it up. I actually spoke to Dan Millman himself and he "wasn't happy with how the film turned out" - his words. Real shame.
I dont think ist a good idea making a movie from this novell, people who dont read the book will never understand the mattet of this ;-) But, i hope im wrong...
A agree and disagree. The movie is a GREAT visual adaption of the book. I was moved... However the movie does not have the powerful impact as the book. the book didn't move me, it threw me off my feet
the muvie sorta confused me and idk it wasnt great but it definitly wasnt bad just odd and it makes u think about life and time and clearing your head and not wasting moments in life- good but very confusing movie
ryangrayson, I lost my Sadie to bone cancer, April 6, 2006 at 5:05pm. And Iam looking for a reason to keep going on. Would the book and movie, be able to help me,see life in a better light then the darkness I have seen for 1 year,8 days, just looking for some hope, MARK
I don't know you, and I didn't know Sadie. I know a bit about loss. What do you think Sadie would want for you. Try "Happiness Now" by Robert Holden. To tell the truth, I don't know what to say. I'm trying to come up with something... living with pain, letting go?, i don't know. We have a choice. Remember, and feel what you feel. Maybe in time, you will have some more insight. Give yourself that time. Be gentle with yourself.
it has been a year since your remark, hope you are still going on. the most important thing to know is what Sadie would have wanted, they would have wanted you to be happy, so honor that and live the moment and be happy.
interesting, i thought soc went from the ground to the roof? he didn't jump from the roof and "land un injured on the ground". this is stupid, i'm not going to watch a review that isn't even right.
Phenomenal? why? There were so many unanswered questions. On a spirtitual level almost no anwers,No insight on meditation, prey, how did he get on the roof, who was he? his name, why was he in his dreams? ect. I feel the movie didnt do the book any justice.
There's too much in the book to ever capture in a movie.
But then again I loved the movie, which made me read the book.

And YangGuardian is right, it is a visual feast but lacking in substance. Kind of like teenagers ;-)
