Use short swords against the kreights. In the same time you can kill them with one hit and have a shield. Also there is no need for archers, you just get in castle as fast as you can and start hitting enemies.

I like playing as Nord, especially on Sieges because the Huscarls make a great siege force :)

Typically, I tell them to Hold Fire so they don't expose themselves to archer fire by attempting to throw axes at the walls - once the tower gets to the walls I tell them to fire at will
