Maybe if tenten could understand that her team consists of close range fighters, and that they're going against a long range fighter she would've stepped it up to actually do something. Considering she's long range as well:P You can say team gai sucks, But they're always going against long range fighters. If someone decided to fight them upfront, it'd be over. It's like a suicide mission trying to take them all on close up. Deidara was smart enough to dodge and run.

I mean, Deidara truly is amazing. He had just fought Gaara, lost an arm, sealed the kyuubi in 3 days, fought Kakashi, got another arm blasted off, and managed to survive Gai's team continuously though he was probably extremely low on chakra. He would have beaten Sasuke easily if he had some form of self-preservation.

@willferrelsux True that. Basically, if anyone has been shown to have great stamina, strength and rather misplaced intelligence in the show, its Deidara. Sad though that most of the times his achievements seem overshadowed. Mostly he's just ultimately cool so there :)

Even Rock Lee and Sasuke could not do it despite their formidable offensive jutsus. Naruto w/ Great Mountain Toad could only manage a draw with Gaara after the chuunin exams.

Deidara - a long range fighter - has no problems at all dodging all of Team Gai's attacks with nothing but a kunai in his mouth. He would've killed them all aswell if it wasn't for Kakashi's mangekyo sharingan. Deidara is pretty awesome. ^_^

Well it would be rlly hard for Deidara to kill Neji, especely when also Tenten, Gai and Lee is there. I mean Tenten can all the time use long range combat to make Deidara vulnerable and slow down his bomb making.

Gai, Lee and Neji are taijutsu specialicts. They can attack Deidara as fast as they see an opening.

Neji has also the byakugan that can see trough where the bombs are flying/running. he can also see the C3 bombs wich no one else can see.
