should i be adding subculters (pirahna, taranchila, voodoo, ect.) to my resivior before my bases and micros or after?or in a completely diffarent seperate watering?i like the idea of letting the micro organisms gain a foothold for a day or two before watering.should i add any nutes to this solution?please help!
personally i would add them first. i wouldn't want the beneficials to come into contact with concentrated nutes;like when they are first added to the water, this way they are diluted before the microbes touch them
yes in a feed, feed, water regimen adding them on your "water" days, as well as your feed days helps ensure maximum population levels. so, start adding them on your first water day then follow up with them in your feedings
adding H-2 and Carboload will help the microbes flourish
I also am new to all of this, After your soil nutriants have burned off how often should you been feeding? and your mother earthssuper tea, Is this something that will be ok to feed all threw
the Veg. state ? When and how was this product ment to be used?
Usually, most soils/soilless mixes that have some levels of nutrients included in the mix start to need supplementation after about 10 days. However, be careful not to over-fertilize; it can be worse than under applying nutes.
Mother Earth Organic Tea is great stuff, especially in soil. Start at about 1/2 strength, and apply 1-2X per week. As the plants get bigger, start to increase the dose rate. Blackened leaf tips are a sign that they are starting to get overfed. Feed, Feed, Water works.
Check the online nutrient calculator at Advanced Nutrients website for guidelines. How strong to feed often depends on the size of the plant (number of leaves, stems, shoots, etc). Underfeeding is much easier to fix than overfeeding. If your plants have grown a few sets of new leaves after rooting, you could probably go 0.8-1.0EC and gradually go up from there. Watch for tipburn on the leaves (overfeeding). Try Sensi A+B or Conni with Big Bud, Voodoo Juice, B-52, and Overdrive. Cheers Mate!
Im using Big bud in the flowering period(first week) and feeding with an EC of 0.4 or 0.6 I was wondering whether its ok to feed them every day(as it is hot in the grow room) like this with about 1 litre of solution for a growing medium of 25 litres (soil). Thanks
1L of solution doesn't seem like a lot in a 25L container, on the other hand, if the plant is still small, it makes sense You can feed Big Bud anytime in flowering, right up until the flush period. Some growers only start using it one week after flowering has started
An overall EC of 0.4-0.6 seems pretty low.The EC will be at least 1.0 (all nutrients in the solution)in the first week of flowering. The plant is the boss however. An EC of 0.4-0.6 is what Big Bud typically adds to the solution
if you are using a variety of additives like in Advanced's Plus Program, you would use them in equal amounts, i.e 7.5ml (1.5 TSP) of each per gallon. With NO additives in flower, you will use the 3 parts in a 3-2-1 ratio of bloom: micro: grow. If only feeding once a week in soil, feeding 12ml of bloom, 8 ml of micro,& 4ml of grow (per Gal)is a good place to start. You will want to make the sure the pH is about 6.8 for plants in SOIL. There are LOTS of ways to feed, just don't over-do it!
Hi, i was wondering how to mix the nutrients, i have the 3 parts for soil, bloom, grow and micro. how do i add them my plants are 3 week old clones that are well rooted. they are in flowering stage since they are from mature plants. I'm planning on adding the nutrients to a gallon of water. how do i do that?
I'm a newbie, but when I mix-up my mixture I usually mix the Tarantula/Piranha/Voodoo into the water with some Carbo-load and let it sit for at least a day because...
- Tarantula and Piranha are harder to mix
- Allows the microbes/fungi to reproduce and multiply a bit (correct?)
- Allows the Chlorine in my tap water to dissipate.
Now that I think about it - would the chlorine hurt the bacteria/fungi? Should I let the chlorine dissipate first before I add the Tarantula/Piranha/Voodoo?
Sounds like a good idea, letting the microbes get "charged-up" before introducing to the plants.
H-2 would further help the process. Voodoo Juice would make the mix even more potent!
Yes, it would be better to dissipate any chlorine out of your water (24hrs with aeration) before adding the beneficials. Extreme chlorine levels could harm them.
In the next show, I am going to talk about some of the great tips coming in, including this one!
I was wondering if it was normal when mixing Piranha and Tarantula into the solution for these products to not fully dissolve. More so with Tarantula I find I can stir for 5 minutes or more and there will always be some larger particulate at the bottom (I stir it good just before I water so all the particulate is evenly distributed in the water long enough to water.) I've started crushing the powder a little finer - but is this necessary?
The powder is really more of a carrier and food source for the microscopic beneficials the product contains than anything, so it is OK if there is a little particulate.
However, if you want to have no sludge, you can add the Piranha and Tarantula in a "tea bag" to keep particulate out of the solution while the beneficial microbes are being activated.

Cool, I really look forward to seeing what you learn about the mixing order of additives.
I've always just kind of randomly dumped them in after the base nutes were mixed and never gave it much thought.
