And he gives help to people who get turned away and disregarded by everyone else (autistic kid from "Line in the Sand", for instance); when it comes down to it he does help people. He was even helping Tritter; rather than let the man wait around in worry for a useless test, he gave it to him straight.

@CrazyIdiot44 Cuddy only lied about the Oxycodone; as for the Vicodin it was just a case of No One Cared. Tritter only did what he did because House hurt his pride and wouldn't apologize, I'm sure there was hypothetically some real crime going on in Princeton that Tritter could have investigated.

Sometimes, but not always - he sticks his neck out occasionally.

Tritter physically assaulted House, harassed House's friends, damaged Wilson's practice (and his patients in the process), and wasted a great deal of tax dollars for a case that got thrown out anyway.

Tritter knew nothing would happen? Yes, House caught himself on the door, but he could have caught himself with his face as well as his hand. The fact is putting your hands on somebody else isn't justified, and Tritter as police should be held to a higher standard.

Not to mention House's life is certainly not all roses without Tritter getting involved. I mean, he got shot - then, post-Tritter, he loses two (three, for a time) important people in his life, has a breakdown, etc... But TRITTER KICKED HIS CANE. If House had split his head open would Tritter still be justified?

@CrazyIdiot44 Yes, him hurting Wilson was a big deal, but Wilson forgave him (as he always does). And House did kick his addiction for a time (season 6-7)... He didn't really steal from the hospital considering he did presumably pay for the Vicodin, he just didn't have it legitimately prescribed.

Tripping someone is always wrong if the other person didn't put their hands on you first. House could have been seriously injured, considering his bad leg.

And, no, it is never acceptable to use someone's disability against them. It's just cruel. House nearly fell; he was also humiliated. Nothing House said prior to the cane-kick made that an acceptable action.

Yes, House steals drugs, but he does it because he needs them for the pain - no one other than him really knows his pain levels. Does he overdo it on the Vicodin? Yes. Does he need the Vicodin? Yes (though it's been established at least some of his pain is psychosomatic).

I didn't think Tritter was really all that bad, he was doing his job with getting House in trouble. The point where I didn't like him though, was when innocent people started getting hit. The doctors that worked for House weren't able to get to their accounts, Wilson was getting punished......I just think he should have kept them out of it, they weren't the ones who did anything wrong.

David Morse is such a good actor. He creeped me out in Disturbia (which I watched before I'd seen an episode of House) but I've seen him in other shows where I didn't think he was creepy at all. The reason people hated Tritter was because he pushed his game too far. Yes, House is an addict, but Tritter became obsessed and hurt everyone around him. It wasn't along the lines of who was right and who was wrong. They were both in the wrong--Tritter just had the law on his side.

Interesting comments. No one has said that House is in the wrong and the cop is in the right. House is a junkie who breaks the law so I didn't find Tritter at all creepy - I like the police to persue law breakers. But it could be a cultural thing - I'm English, not American so I might be missing some subtlety.

The case against House got dropped. So, Tritter failed in his attempt to put House behind bars. He wished House goodluck at the end of the hearing and ... presumably just got on with his life, carrying on as a cop.
