Loving these videos, I'm an apprentice cutter at a local meat dept, I enjoy it and enjoy learning about where all the portions come from and more of the specific technical aspect of butchering..
Seriously meat in the US sucks balls. Don't know why that is so but when i went there you couldn't get any good beef. US industry in general could learn from a country like Australia, look at your economy its fucking weak.
"when i went there you couldn't get any good beef"
I don't know what backwoods area you went to... at the butcher near my flat I can get grain or grass fed beef butchered on the spot from 7 farms ranging from prime well marbled dry aged beef to less marbled select meats. I'm curious how that "sucks balls".
Sorry to say it sucks balls i guess that was a bit harsh. I should have just said it doesn't taste very good. Yes you can get all that beef here too. I know this as i work in the beef industry. Australia is the number 1 beef exporter in the world. Now go print some more money to pay off the Chinese.
And China is the #1 exporter of consumer electronic goods and toys. Yup, export sales are clearly a good measure of quality.
Speaking of China, if we were to do something so stupid as to print more money to pay off the cheap money they're willing to lend us, we'd easily have at least a 4.40% inflation rate... like Australia.
So you have given up on the beef thing? Yes our inflation rate is going up. Seems to have happened after the US economy got itself in trouble. Hows your dollar these days? Seems to be taking a bit of a pounding lately.
No, it's you that I've given up on, American beef speaks for itself. It's just *hillarious* though when someone from a country w/about half the GDP of California and about 1/4 the nat. debt of the US (Nat. debt per capita: US:$39,161.13, AUS:$146,907.45) calls our economy 'weak'. It's like comparing a slingshot to a sniper rifle. If your economy really mattered, it'd get much more negative press than ours. You've got an anti-US bandwagon to catch... Don't worry, they don't fact check either.
Mate everyone is on the anti US bandwagon now so you better get used to it. Yes we'll see what happens to the US economy over the next few years. I think you will find it's over valued. Your big companies are folding and the government bails them out! What a joke pumping tax money into failing businesses, they are bound to fail again. Your country is sinking lower and lower every day.
You're missing the point. Regardless of how our economy changes, as far as "power" goes (your assertion was that our economy is weak), you're is still a drop of piss compared to ours. It's still the most powerful economy in the world. How long will it stay that way? Who knows. Will Australia's economy *ever* touch it, short of there being a nuclear holocaust in which AUS wasn't touched? Not a snowball's chance in hell.
Hmm must be some sort of invincible economy. Seems to be getting worse every day. China and India going to be the next economic superpowers. Will Australia's economy ever touch it? Seems to me that depends on what you can trade with China and India in the future. Lets see, as we've already discussed Australia has the worlds finest beef. Also has shitloads of uranium and other minerals. For high end manufactured goods they will go to Europe. Good luck!
Don't sell yourself short! A few minutes on google showed you were the largest exporters of: Lead, Goat Meat, Wool, Iron Ore, Wood Chips, and Zinc... that's about all I could find though.
The US exports more in products and services than anyone else in the world. We also export more food, manufactured products, and agricultural products than anyone else in the world.
Intellectual Property, New Technology, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, Surgical and Dental Instruments, Human Plasma, Educational Services, Entertainment, Petroleum Coke, Phosphates, and the list just keeps going.
Haha this is getting comical mr research man. Used clothing? Keep scratching. Maybe you can find some stats on how many times you've been owned in this discussion.
Ooh, a personal attack... based on the fact that I actually back up what I say with hard facts rather than just stating broad generalizations, baseless speculation and generic arguments that you've heard other people talk about but haven't actually bothered to research. You're out of pre-fab arguments, and out of your league.
I don't think so when you're comparing uranium to used clothing. Nothing much more to say really when you're digging that deep you seem pretty desperate.
Hahaha, fail. Perhaps you didn't read any of the rest of the list? Exactly how much uranium do you think the world buys every year? Australia exported 1 billion dollars in uranium in the 08-09 fiscal year. The US exported $4.34 billion in *poultry* last year... come on man...
Australia doesn't export much uranium because we are currently refusing large exports to countries such as China and India. Of course that will change as soon as the US is losing its grip on the world. Didn't google tell you that? Maybe you need to improve your research and statistics skills. Take a more holistic view and you will see more. Its not all about narrowing things down to a stat. The world is more complex than that. Good luck with your chicken.
You're using meaningless pre-fab buzz-phrases like "losing its grip on the world" without actually knowing why something like this is at risk of happening, what the repercussions of such a non-event might be, or even the ways that the US would have a "grip on the world" in the first place. Does that mean nobody else has such a grip? Would not having that grip preclude someone from being a superpower? Would someone else having that grip mean we would produce less... or Australia produce more?
Simply that you think that you're Uranium industry, which your government says could net 17 billion (~2 percent of YOUR GDP,) would get you anywhere close to even a catastrophically failed US economy shows that you're either being willfully ignorant of the discrepancy in how much our two countries produce, or you have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. When you say my view isn't holistic after you tried to compare Uranium to used clothes, I'm really not sure which is the case.
I can certainly understand why you'd shy away from things like "facts" and "statistics" because they simply don't support your world view. You're not actually talking about using a holistic approach, you're talking about looking at the whole situation to cherry pick tiny bits of info that point to weaknesses in the US and strengths in Australia to support your completely skewed view of your and our position in the world economy. Holistic vs statistc is a false dichotomy. You're rejecting fact.
Haha now your starting to lose it again. A holistic approach to the future of any economy has to take into account other countries positions and possible future positions. Simply digging up some current stats on export levels doesn't mean much in terms of future levels. Anyway maybe an example you can understand is the beef industry. US used to be the number 1 exporter & now Australia has been for a number of years. Has the demand for Australian beef gone up? Have our supply levels gone up? Yes
There are plenty of other mining ventures to be exploited here. Uhh you compared Uranium to used clothes. By holistic i was trying to show you how google stats on current export levels do not show future levels. You need to try to think ahead a little. Now quit using your 'buzz words' like 'pre-fab' haha. Here's a new one how about 'catch phrase' lol
Basically its happening already. Yes it is going to be a non event as its not really a shock to anybody. Yes the grip as we have already discussed is moving towards China and India. Economies work in a supply and demand basis. Of course Australia will sell more uranium when we lift current embargos. I like how you didn't run to google stats this time very nice. Now your starting to sound less like a bot. By the USAs grip on the world well thats a simple idea really. Economic & military power.
Well describing the world economy in terms "grip" rather than actually trying to describe the activities of such supply and demand is going to make things significantly easier for the world's economists. There are literally dozens of complex questions and measurements they can avoid now!
Of course things change (we see this with *statistics*), but what you still fail to recognize is the absolute catastrophic failure of the US it would take for Australia to come anywhere close to touching it.
So let's say someone blows up our a few of our coastal cities meaning that our GDP is going to be reduced by say, to pull an arbitrary number out, 70 percent, which would trigger a collapse in the world economy. AND let's say we DOUBLE Australias growth rate to 7.36%... It would take TWENTY YEARS for you to catch us. Our economy is literally 15 of your economies. That's right, 15 Australias we have here, in this one country, with significantly less debt compared to the amount of production.
I know that you prefer to talk about things in high level concepts that aren't mucked up with facts and research. It certainly is much easier to attempt to discredit someone if you don't hold yourself to any standard of proof. It doesn't actually mean anything of course but you'll certainly feel a lot better about yourself afterwords. Let's see what other arguments we can dumb down by trimming out the facts and proof and just go based on our impressions from what we gleaned from the news.
By the way, to put your Uranium industry profits in perspective... you currently export 1 billion, your government estimates that it could baloon 1700% to 17 billion. Microsoft made $13.65 billion... last quarter.
My personal favorite but unfortunately you haven't used it is 'synergy'
Yes the failure will be castastrophic. Your recent collapse may just be the start of bigger failures. It certainly was castrophic enough for the world to take notice.
"A buzzword (also fashion word and vogue word) is a vague idiom, usually a neologism, that is common to managerial, technical, administrative, and political work environments"

4) Arbitrary: A term given to choices and actions which are considered to be done not by means of any underlying principle or logic, but by whim or some decidedly illogical formula. Certainly not an idiom and given the definition of the word, kind of ironic that you'd assert that it's vague. Your assertion that these words are buzz words is, in fact, completely arbitrary.
5) Dichotomy: Dichotomy is any splitting of a whole into exactly two non-overlapping parts. Not an idiom, not vague.
And then you just go on to reassert what you've been saying all along without any more supporting evidence or presentation of "logic" to support your assertions. Look back and notice how when you realize that you've run out of anything "substantive" to say, you just start (poorly and incorrectly) attacking my style... just like every other 12 year old who doesn't even realize how deeply in over their head they are in an argument.
Wow, a star trek reference... uh, ok... some of our classic American entertainment. Believe it or not, using logic isn't an alien concept. In case you haven't experienced it a lot before, the more you interact with the general public, the more you will run up against logic in discussions. As a butcher in Scotland the primal cuts are broken down so much a cant believe it! but in a sense thats how a would like my meat! USA is a consumer lead market unlike hear! Very interesting thanks buckheadbeef. PS the name sounds sort of Scottish???
yeam im an aussie slicer of 4 years but i was a bonner for 6 and these guys are as slow as shit hahahaha these yanks should try working for teys if you ask me see how good they are at bonning then hahaha
i am in the industry and as informative as it is vegetarians need to have a good hard think humans are carnivors and just because you don't eat meat doesn't mean less animals will be slaughtered. if you really wanna help em stop buying supermarket shit and shop at your local butcher we need your support.
I love animals and would never want to hurt one and I am going to school to be a Butcher. I think the meat industry does NOT need to abuse the animals to get the meat. I loooove my steaks and my job, but the abuse is unnecessary, Great video as always, Buckhead!
Why should a person be "hooked" up for doing their job and feeding their family????? There are thousands of products that are used everyday that must use animal bi-products in them...i.e. Gum and Jello use animal bone - Cotton processors use animal fats......
and besides that - it is kind of hard to take the hide off an animal for your leather belts/shoes or what have you, without harvesting it first....
But i guess we are a very hypocritical society........just a thought
thanks for posting these videos. they are really informative (I'm not even in the industry, I just think it's interesting to know how the meat winds up on the butcher's counter)
dude go take your hippie ideas and stick them up your ass you and every other vego out ther are fucking retarded HUMANS ARE MADE TO EAT MEAT!!!.... ever wonder why you vego hippie fags are so pussy ass week? because you get no iron... your fucking stupid
That's right the ball tip looks like a bald head.

Apparently, you don't know what a buzzword is.
"A buzzword (also fashion word and vogue word) is a vague idiom, usually a neologism, that is common to managerial, technical, administrative, and political work environments"
icankickyourasshole 2 years ago
1) pre-fab: an abbreviation of pre-fabricated. It means you didn't make it, other people did and you're using it. Not only is it not vague, it's not an idiom.
2) Cherry Pick: In a discussion, it means that you carefully pick things that support your point of view amongst many things that dont. This is an idiom, but it's not vague.
3) Buzz Word: specific non-vague definition given above.
icankickyourasshole 2 years ago
4) Arbitrary: A term given to choices and actions which are considered to be done not by means of any underlying principle or logic, but by whim or some decidedly illogical formula. Certainly not an idiom and given the definition of the word, kind of ironic that you'd assert that it's vague. Your assertion that these words are buzz words is, in fact, completely arbitrary.
5) Dichotomy: Dichotomy is any splitting of a whole into exactly two non-overlapping parts. Not an idiom, not vague.
icankickyourasshole 2 years ago
And then you just go on to reassert what you've been saying all along without any more supporting evidence or presentation of "logic" to support your assertions. Look back and notice how when you realize that you've run out of anything "substantive" to say, you just start (poorly and incorrectly) attacking my style... just like every other 12 year old who doesn't even realize how deeply in over their head they are in an argument.

i am in the industry and as informative as it is vegetarians need to have a good hard think humans are carnivors and just because you don't eat meat doesn't mean less animals will be slaughtered. if you really wanna help em stop buying supermarket shit and shop at your local butcher we need your support.

I love animals and would never want to hurt one and I am going to school to be a Butcher. I think the meat industry does NOT need to abuse the animals to get the meat. I loooove my steaks and my job, but the abuse is unnecessary, Great video as always, Buckhead!

That is horrible!!! those butchers should be hooked up, not beef! go veg !
