My father is an original Renegade and we have the single. It reached number 8 in the charts in 1964. It was also re-released by Glenn A Baker on an LP call 25 Rare Recyled RCA Rock Relics in the 80's. The sheet music for Kahuna pictures the original Renegades.
I bought the single when it first came out but had it stolen from me about 30 years ago. Thanks so much for posting one of my all-time favourite instrumentals !
This is not actually The Renegades but a break away group called The Charades playing The Renegades hit single, Kahuna. They played on Saturday Date on the Nine Network.

@MegaDee888
I went back to the original "Sing,Sing,Sing" footage,and JOK introduces them as
"Five young men from the North side of Sydney,making their TV debut with their big hit
"Kahuna"....the Renegades.(applause)
So that is why i labeled the video as the Renegades.
I have no knowledge of the group themselves.
