The horses that do get mistreated are usually from owners that don't know what they are doing. There are ways to handle horses that don't require being rough.
I have a mustang that was caught in new mexico, and I some what agree that some horses are mistreated, but alot aren't There are ways to train a horse with out being rough or hard handed. I have trained horse for several years, I have also rode bareback horses in rodeos. Alot of people think rodeo stock is miss treated, but they are usually treated very well. That's a stock contractors bread and butter. Without the stock he would not make no money, they do not mistreat their animals.
@cornhippycowboy "Without the stock he would not make no money, they do not mistreat their animals." Huh? There is a double negative in your sentence... If there's no mistake there, you're saying that without stock they make money? Makes no sense to me sir.
Horses were here long before humans, and the amount that they have always done for us and what they still do, and the stuff we expect from them, just for them to be treated like s**t. Horses have more right on this earth than us!!! anyone who could even think about hurting ana nimal is just sick in the head, there must be something wrong with them, its like they enjoy it or something!! sick freaks who dont deserve to live!!!
You do know that they wil become like deer.. Over populated and numbers out of control.. I do agree that the way they are treated are horrid, and there could be better ways.. But would you rather the population be controlled or see on get hit by a car and possibly killing whomever is inseid the car?
I honestly think that if you're going to put the time into catching a 'wild' horse and breaking, I think it's fine. These aren't wild guys. They're released domestic horses. Some may be born into the wild, but they're still domestic. So if you're gonna break bones over breaking a horse, then by all means, do so. I think the're meant for humans to ride. They're better off with good owners rather than in the wild.
The horse is the most intelligent animal and beautiful, we had a lot of steppe herds of 1000 horses, fermented mare's milk (Kumys) it has no equal among dairy products, horse meat is a delicacy not him over, we still do konskuû sausage (kazy) Hello from Kazakhstan.
These poor horses should just be left alone! its different if they are yours, and you ride them, and they get sick, you can put them down. But things like this are just really wrong!
But if i asked you where you were from, what would you say? (if you are from the US) You would say "Im from *City*, *State*, United States. Your ancestors aren't originally from here either! But if someone asked you where you were from you would say you were. What's the difference? that one's a horse and one's a human?
Catching wild horses shouldnt happen. The REAL ones, that is. Not those let loose. ANY animal can starve out in the open ranges, expeccially here in Arizona. There's not a lot to eat, which is why the horses stay up in the higher country, near Kingman, and not down on the flatlands. They're just fine.Let them alone, everyone.
Even PETA knows that horses are domestic animals! But they also know that there are wild horses which they are the "MUSTANG" and the Przewalski's horses of Mongolia. And many people don't even know about it..
@Bigstallion099 You are retarded. Dogs are domesticated animals, they don't hunt, no wolf pack will accept them. They don't form their own packs, they would starve. The wolves usually hate dogs, dogs are inferior mongrels.
@3choBlaster You're RETARDED!! Horses are domesticated too! Same as fucking dogs you moron look it up google for more info, there are more than 300 breeds of horses in this world! Typical city ignorant people like you and others don't know anything about equines!!
@Bigstallion099 So what you retard? Wtf are you getting at? I never said we should leave domesticated horses in to the wild. I said catching wild horses shouldn't be a problem. idiot
@Bigstallion099 Actually, if you actually did research you would know that horses really arent "Domesticated" you could let one go in the wild and he would know exactly what to do. Horses that are in stalls 24/7 might not do as well but still.
@EricaAmazing1 Is that so? Cool, did you know that dogs aren't really "domesticated" too?...They attack people! You could let one roam free in the wild with coyotes, wolves and other wild canines. Many people treat them bad, they are force to fight other dogs for profit and etc..Here it comes the insults.
@EricaAmazing1 By the way, I just heard the news that many horse corpses were found somewhere in the desert south west and they've found horseshoes which came from the dead domestic horse. And scientific has proven that domestic horses can starve to death if left abandon in as isolation environment ( The "WILD")....That's why there's this law called "it's illegal to abandon an animal". Here it comes the excuses.
@EricaAmazing1 They're companion animals. Do you even know much about them? If you can't afford food or care for your lovable family animal ( Horse, cat, dog, etc) would you let it be free in a near by brush? Or give it at a local shelter? Letting ANY animal lose or abandoned leads to death ANYWHERE in the world. Explains a lot of numerous death tolls each year of dead horses and other animals in 36 states each year due to lack of care, shelter, water, food, etc.
they catching horses cause the groops are too big and they dont want that te male fighting but really in my country whe got wild horses too every year some taking away or they whill die all cause they got not enough food
@jAnastasiaM Hey I want dogs to be free!! We don't need dogs in captivity anymore!! Let them be WILD with the pack of wolves and coyotes in the wild!! And some people treat their dogs bad!!
@jAnastasiaM By the way.. Do your research before leaving negative comments! Letting a DOMESTICATED horse "free" would put the horse into starvation which causes DEATH obviously! It's saying that like if I should let my PITBULLS roam free with the wolves in the wild and let them get killed by them or just let them die without food and etc. It seems to me that you don't much the difference between wild and domestic animals.
What most people don't know when they watch these kinds of videos is that a law has been passed so no more wild horses ar ebeing harmed unless done illegally. But yet there will always be people who break the law. its the way the world works sadly. Despite the fact that if it didnt happen then you wouldnt have your mustang today. If it didn't happen mine wouldnt be here, but it did, and it won't any longer unless done illegally. Don't beleive me? Go look it up.
horses are evasive and if theirs to many then they start starving and then hippies will be up in arm spending tax dollars to try to save them when we could catch them and make a decent horse out of them
helicopters are the easiest way, and i believe the mmost humane. helicopters can see farther out than anybody on land could. imagine if the horses were being driven towards a ravine and whoever was on the ground didnt know it? the horses would be so freaked they would probably commit suicide just because they had no other way. i dont think there is a more humane way (even if you guys dont think its humane at all).
Catching wild horses should only be done if it is in the horses best interest. In some cases its better than dying. Unfortunately horses, like many other animals, are losing their freedom, domestication is a life and it's better than none at all.
@horsesrocks12345 i believe that too, but if the BLM didn't round up some mustangs, my Mustang/Paso Fino (who i love more than you can even imagine) wouldn't be here with me today. I think that it is humane to round up a few every year, but they shouldn't chase them with helicopters! What if you got one, trained it, and you were on a ride, and a helicopter was flying, your horse most likely would freak out, dump you, and run away, thinking it was being chased!!
None of those horses are actually wild. They are escaped domestic horses which have gone feral, and they still have the genes of domesticated horses. Feral domestic horses (like Mustangs, Brumbies, etc.) are often called wild, but this is a misnomer. They often cause damage to native species when they are introduced into new environments, which is why their numbers need to be controlled. The only truly wild horses are the Przewalski's horses of Mongolia.
@maximum411 They have been wild for hundreds of years. While they do not have wild origins, they are still considered wild because they have adapted to their environment and developed instinct on how to survive in the wild. They ARE the native species to the area. Im sorry, but cattle bred for meat processing to feed fat Americans at McDonalds arent native species, but they get priority over mustangs because they provide money for some rich corporation.
A few hundred years of living as a feral population does not make something a native species. Plant species in the area are not adapted to cope with them.
Considering cattle outnumber wild horses almost 100:1 on range that was designated primarily for the use of the horses, the mustang is the BLM whipping boy. Cattle eat more, drink more and stay within a mile or two of a water source, whereas wild horses are nomadic and travel 10-20 miles a day. The horses have been on some ranges for 500 years or more, have survived and adapted and lived in harmony with their surroundings. The BLM treats the roundups like covert ops. Why?
I said nothing about cattle, although I do think that we eat too much meat in this country (and that the way meat is currently produced is very wrong). I just said that these are not wild horses, so they should not be subject to the same protections as true native species. They are pretty, but they are really no different than stray dogs or cats and it makes sense to keep their numbers under control (in humane ways).
@maximum411 woooo wooo woooo wooo u don't know what your talking about i read all about dinasours and stuff and there were animals that looked like horses just were way bigger like the wild ''ass'' i know but its a real animal
@maximum411 Whether with domesticated genes in them or not "Wild" refers to an untamed creatures.in which case would refer to those horses so Yes, they are still Wild Horses.
No- a wild animal is an animal which is genetically not domesticated. Feral animals are not wild since they are genetically domestic- that is why we have a special term for them. A feral cat or stray dog is not a "wild animal," nor is a feral horse.
@maximum411 No one wants to control the mustangs' numbers for the sake of native species. They want to control them for the sake of cattle ranchers who graze their stock on public lands - a practice which, by the way, does far more damage to native species and the environment than the mustangs do. The culling of mustangs has been a cruel and barbaric practice. They may not be truly "wild," but that does not mean that they do not deserve our respect and protection.
@maximum411 Sort of like..umm...the way we invaded North America and damaged the life of the Native American people who were here before us? Maybe we should of "controlled" YOUR birth.
One of the reason people catch wild horses around here is because they are starving to death due to the grass plains becoming less and less fruitful. If you adopt a wild horse they can be extremely wonderful companions. (If you know how to train a horse) And before you think you can handle a horse the first time you tell it to give to pressure, your crazy. That would be like an Alien putting a rope around your neck and started pulling you with him, would you go? I dont think so.
@slipknotgirl06 It's not always on all land where there is no grass. Most land has enough grass. It's pure nature that they die but when they die they die free and their offspring will live the same free life. Let nature take its coarse and people that illegally catch them disrupt it.
@7leggedfox Yes I know. I was just telling people why they are catching them here in Oklahoma, they are dieing of starvation, and then they are sold to people who take them and make them great horses. So they are saved and live a great life.
@slipknotgirl06 If it is legal and has permission then I have nothing against it but I still think that you should leave a horse to live and die naturally. It can be turned into a kids best freind and etc. and be saved but at the same time it seems better to just leave them be. I would understand catching if the populatin grew rapidly but now its not so high.
Hope you like it? Hope you know there's no such thing as a wild horse. It's the people that makes a horse wild. Just by not knowing how to handle suck beautiful creatures.
@Kiimberly333 And how exactly do you explain the wild horses in the wild? There's no such thing as a domestic horse then because they were all bred from wild horses. You may have it backwards.
Horses that are wilod stay wild. They are never changed. You could take a totaly wild horse and train it dead broke...but the first chance it gets. I bet you that it will run for it's life like it's tail is on fire!!
I love horses, I love riding them, but if they're wild, leave them wild. They have a family, then they get taken away. I don't think they're men't to be ridden - Meanwhile, yes I do ride- They're men't to be free. Its like takeing a human some where different and saying they'll be fine in a few days, or weeks, or months, or years. They'll just forget all about they're past, no biggie. We'll, they could be emotionaly hurt. Their outer appearance looks good, they're good. Wrong. It could hurt them.
@MissGooglization Yes, leave them to run free in our super-industrelized world, were their physical harm would leave them far worse then their mental "damage" would. Are your domestic animals mentaly damaged? No they aren't, and neither are these horses. Horses don't have the same emotions as we do, that means they can't feel 'love', even for their own family. Don't put human emotions in animals, it only leads to disaster.
That's terrible. Just think, those horses will never see their families/herds again. Would you like that if you were a horse? Being forced to compete in rodeos or competitions, and being enclosed in a small field or barn for the rest of your life? Being worked, or whipped after having so much freedom? Being ridden because your "owner" is too fucking lazy to walk? I wouldn't like that.
@annie10103 - Come on, after a horse grows up a little bit, they don't even really know who their "families" are. Horses are meant to be ridden, and that was what this country was built upon! Don't be ignorant now...Be somewhat openminded please. :)
@MeganLoves2Rope Hm that's kind of sad. That's like saying if a little kid gets abducted, they'll be fine in a few years. They won't remember their family, no big deal. Doesn't seem right. :/
Sure they're meant to be ridden, but I don't know about you, I wouldn't want some fat jerk sitting on my back all day. (I'm not saying that all horse riders are fat...or jerks :D)
I am, but I just think that taking away a horse's freedom is really upsetting.
yes somethings people do to horses is unbelieveabl but chatching wild horses isnt wrong some of the mustangs make amazing horses very strong and beautiful animals
If no one believes the cruelty done to these animals by the BLM watch the video titled "Is It Bad Enough For You? Wild Horses" This isnt the "romantic" wild west where people think you go humanely catch a wild horse and tame it to be your bff - mares spontaneously abort foals, which are trampled, stallions put together fight, horses kick in confinement and break legs...thats the real wild west you think mustangs come from.BLM pressured by cattlemen and politicians to remove them for their greed.
people need to respect others opinions on here! just because you believe in something doesn't give you a right to be pig-headed, and think everyone should believe what you do.if we did that this entire planet would be screwed up. Grow up a little, show some intelligence and respect each other!
@elspajamas How can they respect each other - they cant even respect a dumb animal - and no, Im not calling animals stupid for those of you who want to jump on that. And Im all for respecting others opinions, but I dont have to respect their condoning of cruelty.
@Singforlife101 Mustangs are actually just as domestic as the horses you own. They've just simply never been handled by humans. A true wild animal does not possess the domestic genes. It's actually something that's bred into a species. The Mustang's ancestors were domesticated for thousands of years, therefore Mustangs are feral, not wild. They're just as easily trained and gentled as horses that were around humans from birth. I currently own a BLM Mustang and he's very happy.
Love how people don't seem to know the difference between wild and feral. All horses in the USA are either domesticated, or feral. Your feral horses are escaped French, English, Spanish, German, Dutch etc horses, mainly Spanish, English and French. The only true WILD horses these days are przewalski's horse and a few others spotted atound Europe and the Near East. Wild horses have NEVER been changed by man, feral horses escaped or descended from escaped horses. Mustang are not wild
most countries on this planet was made on horseback, horses originally were wild. without us, they could be endangered. all the beautiful horses that we have discovered and completing families is an amazing feeling, without then.. who knows what this fucked up planet would look like.
Wild horse populations have to be controlled or they'll grow to large for the amount of land available and they'll starve! Would that be better? They make great and loving additions to families. My profile pic is My daughter at age 4 riding our BLM mustang around our yard all by herself! I can promise You Tuff is very happy to have all the hay he can eat, shelter, and grain!! All things he didn't have in the wild!
oh come on you moron bloddy hell..hardly anyone (if they are against animal crultey) wants 2 see a complete idiot take a wild horse away from its home...you are sick to put up this video you are
Most organisations catch horses from the wild because it's just not safe for them anymore! There are roads being built and cars travelling all over the world so imagine how unsafe it is for horses running around the roads! At least people who want to HELP them are catching horses. I agree that horses and other animals should live in the wild like before but until the government of the country makes the suitable changes it's just like sending them to slaughter-houses.
mustangs should be free, the BLM is taking them off cause they are ass holes who keep giving the horses land away to ranchers. they mustangs will go exstinct because of them and they are feral. not meant to be tooken from their home and exspected to work for man with out any problems unlike ademestic horse. some people just dont see it but i hope you under stand some day when their are no mustangs left and it will be the BLMs fault!!!!!
@sajelt15 Actually, Mustangs are domesticated animals just like any other horse. It's in their genetics. Their ancestors were domesticated by humans for thousands of years. A couple hundred years of living ferally won't breed that out of them. Right now our problem is *not* that Mustang numbers are dwindling, but that there are too many Mustangs as they have no natural predators in the US and they're starving themselves because there is little food left when there are so many of them.
@sajelt15 By sterilizing and capturing them, we're keeping them from starving to death from overpopulation. However, keeping all these Mustangs and adopting them out is very expensive for the government which is why they've been working on developing a way to keep the Mustang numbers under control in a humane way. It's not cheap and it's not easy but they're continuing to work on the problem. I actually own a BLM Mustang and he's been quite a happy horse for the 7 years I've had him.
Mustangs are native to the US.... That's why they're called AMERICAN MUSTANGS. Yes, their ancestors were from Spain, but they don't live in Spain now. They are born in the US so they are native to the US.
@Izzadorable So since I was born in American that makes me a Native American? I think you misunderstand the meaning of the word "native". Modern horses are actually a foreign species to North America so there is no such thing as a horse that is native to America. There was once a very primitive ancestor of the modern horse that roamed what is now America but they went extinct from hunting nomadic humans. Any horse that is now in the US is not a native.
I've always lived in the city, bit U've also always adored horses. I've admired them for their beauty and strength. I don't know how I feel about taking horses out of the wild, but as long as they're in god living conditions, then I don't really have too much of a problem with it. But I do feel a little bad about taking them out of their home to come to out ranches and such :/
@Loveyann1234 Agreed, but unfortunately my friend...The government is killing wild mustangs and wild burros because they are harming the environment in the south western states including Nevada. 80-90% are sent to slaughter houses in Canada and Mexico. On the other hand, there are good organizations out there that are rescuing them from being butchered up at slaughter houses. So don't just think they're just being taken out of the "wild" because of their "beauty"....It's a whole different story.
No, I don't think they're being taken out of the wild because of their beauty, per se. More that a lot of people hear about how wonderful horses are. There's always going to be that lure of freedom around a horse that I've always tied to them. People will usually crave that or their companionship. I'm sad to say that I may never get to understand that feeling of connecting with a horse, either, since I don't see myself moving to a ranch around Nevada anytime soon :)
Funny comments and funny people...Should we let dogs roaming free with a pack of wolves and coyotes in the wild? Dogs were wild weren't they? Why won't people talk about that? Psssh, ...Let's get real here, horses ( Domestic ) are companion animals as cats and dogs are. There are more than 200 breeds of horses out there. Some people just don't understand because they never had a horse. By the way..Who would want to catch a WILD mustang????
@Bigstallion099 The thing is Mustangs aren't wild at all. They're feral. Look up the definition. There's a big difference. Feral animals were bred domestically once and then released into the wild. Wild animals were never domesticated. The problem is that Mustangs have no natural predators in the US so they're becoming too overpopulated and starving to death. The government is sterilizing and adopting them out to cut down on their numbers which is a GOOD thing.
@jjahcspringer5 Actually, the very reason why Mustangs are here in the US in the first place is because humans brought them here. They're not native to this region so the ecosystem hasn't adapted to them yet. They have no natural predators and they're starving to death from overpopulation. By sterilizing, capturing, and adopting them out the BLM is saving them from a terrible fate and fixing the mistake that mankind made by releasing a non-native animal.
Why are people so against catching and training wild horses? your acting like training them ruins them and that its cruel. I'm a firm beleive in natural hormanship, and it is not cruel or mean its all about trust.
When you own a horse a create that special unbreakable bond, its magical, there is nothing better. the horse trust you, you trust the horse its the best feeling in the world :)
@NikkiErinYall Not always are these horse broken with trust. There are many videos of making a horse obay you with cruelty and that's why so many people are against it. If everyone cared and tryed to do the best for the horse this problem wouldn't exist, but unfortunatly some people who shouldn't own horses at all still decide to have them..
@NikkiErinYall it may be the best feeling for you but your not a horse and you don't know what the horse is feeling its just wrong to take a horse from the wild if there in the wild then leave them be !!!!!
@NikkiErinYall My horse was wild until she was 3 years old, when she was caught and broken in. She had a bond until someone abused her, when she stopped trusting people. She's 13 now, I own her, and she loves me like nothing else. I use natural horsemanship on her and I can walk around outside of a fence without a halter or lead. I've taken walks down the road with me, with cars passing by, and if she ever got frightened she'd stick close to me. She's never run away from me. You're right.
@NikkiErinYall Yeah, these horses Love being terrorized and corralled and the image at 13 seconds is a yearly event in spain where they pen wild horses -the purpose is to go in and hit the horses with an objects - bats, clubs, etc., all while most of the men are drunk, just to prove their machissimo - rodeos are no better, a lot of animals die in the process, or are so injured they have to be put down - thats "killed" to you, so, nothing like developing a trusting bond with a club or rope right!
catching wild horses and breaking them in is how this country and world was build and the fucked up government we have now was also built on the back of a horse. how the fuck do you think they got messages acoss states and to other people.
@hoop10chick So, are you for or against this kind of treatment? I have no prob with horses being used by people, but a great deal of disgust for the abusers - Horses and other animals have been exploited by humans, and a great deal of good has come from using them, but a great amount of horror and suffering has been allowed to happen as well. Use horses - ok, abuse horses - NOT ok!
They are only 28,000 Mustangs left in the wild down from 2 MILLION in 1900, 1 MILLION in 1980 and the BLM wants to remove 12,000 more in 2011/2012! PLEASE CALL, WRITE and E-MAIL your Senators and demand they support and pass S.1176! The ILLEGAL activities against our Mustangs MUST STOP NOW!!!!! AND THIS BILL WILL ALSO STOP THE NEEDLESS AND INHUMANE SLAUGHTERING OF ALL EQUINES!! Here in America WE THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN, WE WANT COMPANION RIGHTS FOR OUR HORSES!!
-closes eyes- each horse shouldn't be a pet nor a object to use to over powered each and every horse (mustang) should live free as if they are alive and the best they can be.....-opens eyes- dont say anything bad about this video i think it was a very best of all animal video and i will discribe
You motherfuckers! Cows aren't native to the U.S either but horses came first and PEOPLE THINK THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO STEAL THESE ANIMALS' HOMES SO THEY CAN MAKE A FEW DOLLARS! THESE PEOPLE BREAK A HORSE'S SPIRIT. I'VE WORKED WITH TONS OF HORSES. OF ALL ONLY ONE HAD NO SPIRIT AND I'LL TELL YOU IF I WAS THAT POOR CREATURE I WOULD WANT TO BE PUT OUT OF MY MISERY! LET THEM RUN FREE STUPID DICKS!
@animalcrueltyisevil wild mustangs have no dollar value since the closure of the slaughter plants. You can buy a well breed quarter horse colt right now for under 100 bucks.
Oh and no one was native to the U.S. except maybe the indians and they probably crossed a land mass that connected Alaska to Russia at one time
you stupid fucks horses a amazing creatures they were put in this earth to be companions to us humans, i myself personaly train, not break horses, a horse can be a partner if you train it right and he will work with you not for you . but you have to catch them one way or another.
@chicopolevault11 no they were not. they were put here to walk all lazy like and graze all day free to come and go as they please. if they were meant to be with us then their ancesters would have lived with ours. but they came first so they were all ready doing what they were made to do before we ever came about. we should have let all horses be free or at least not ride them with a saddle or bit. but that ship has sailed so now i think we should just let the free horses be free
@1233Maya Actually, the domesticated ancestors of the Mustang were brought here by humans. Mustangs are not wild animals at all. They're feral. There's a big difference. Because they're not native to this ecosystem they have no natural predators and are starving to death from overpopulation. By sterilizing, capturing, and adopting some of them out the BLM is helping them survive and adapt. Any non-native animal has to go through that adaptation when introduced to a new region.
@genevievedee no amiamal is "Domestic" until we catrue it and make it that way. A Lab or Pit Bull or any dog breed could live in the wild if it was born there. Yes if you took my 1 year old pup out and fed him and treated him like a wolf he would probly die from the food change and all but if he was born in the wild he would be fine and would/could easaly kill a 6ft man if he really needed to. Oviosly some would do better than others but Chiwawas and other small dogs could eat rats
@genevievedee and small stuff like that, and ik this is about horses but if a dog can do it a horse easaly can. Mustangs are harder to tame from what i've heard... a trainer ik says she got 2 horses from the wild, they hav the tattos and everything, one is a mustang and idk what the other is but its pretty tall. It took her 2 days to be able to call the tall one and she'd come happly for a treat, the mustang tryed many times to kill her and one time if her foot hadent goten---
@genevievedee caught in the lead line she would have done it. Its been like 2 years and the tall one is a pretty good drasage horse and her like 5 year old son rides Mia (the tall one) The mustang is usally nice and ridalbe but far from broke, she will acpet an intermedite rider now, on a good day but she has all the spirt and sass she had on day 1. I also know 3 mother/daughters mustangs that are out where i keep my horse, The mother is Tip Top, she is a cowboys horse.---
@genevievedee she is anamazing horse and shes beautiful but if the last time she was used for a lower level rider shee bucked him off and broke his leg in mid air with a hard kick to the knee. One of her daughters is Buck-A-Roo she is pretty and sico like her moma, shes a cowboy horse and shes perfect untill about 30 min in then shes like naawww u need to get off like NOW. Then theres Bell... Really a goruous black mare but meannn you walk by her and she'll put you in the dirt.
@genevievedee I asked if i could brush her, the owners respones? "HAHA Sheuttt that ol thing? Ha well if u do i say good luck to ya, and dont send me your hospital bill. if you even make it." *as i walk away to brush her* "Such a shame... shes such a sweet girl." I got half way down her neck and if i hadnt ducked her open mouth would have slamed into my juguler... probly ending in death or a broken neck cuz she was aimin to kill... When she means bissness, she means BIG bissness.
IDIOT HUMANS!!!!!!!!!! Horses are supposed to be wild and free, not locked up in a stall!! How would humans feel if horses came up to us and took away all our freedom by putting us in a confined space like a stall??? I like horses, but I like to see them FREE!!!!!!
@deonanna80 there's nothing wrong with putting a horse in a stall as long as they get out in a pasture often and are with other horses.. There's absolutley nothing wrong with taming a wild horse and having them as your pet..
@deonanna80 What is up with all this crazy hippy talk about horses being WILD AND FREE. If you take a look at the majority of wild horses, you will see they all have one thing in common. Spirit. Any mustang's got it, even after being captured...They'll always have a wild heart, so to speak. But, another thing you see sometimes is a starving, unhealthy animal. That's cause the horses eat down all the 'grazing land' and then they run out of grass! So if someone adopts them, it's a favor to them!

@Bigstallion099 Actually, if you actually did research you would know that horses really arent "Domesticated" you could let one go in the wild and he would know exactly what to do. Horses that are in stalls 24/7 might not do as well but still.
EricaAmazing1 1 month ago
@EricaAmazing1 Is that so? Cool, did you know that dogs aren't really "domesticated" too?...They attack people! You could let one roam free in the wild with coyotes, wolves and other wild canines. Many people treat them bad, they are force to fight other dogs for profit and etc..Here it comes the insults.
Bigstallion099 1 month ago
@EricaAmazing1 By the way, I just heard the news that many horse corpses were found somewhere in the desert south west and they've found horseshoes which came from the dead domestic horse. And scientific has proven that domestic horses can starve to death if left abandon in as isolation environment ( The "WILD")....That's why there's this law called "it's illegal to abandon an animal". Here it comes the excuses.
Bigstallion099 1 month ago
@Bigstallion099 Horses and dogs are totally different? And ya something would starve if you left in in the desert...
EricaAmazing1 1 month ago
@EricaAmazing1 They're companion animals. Do you even know much about them? If you can't afford food or care for your lovable family animal ( Horse, cat, dog, etc) would you let it be free in a near by brush? Or give it at a local shelter? Letting ANY animal lose or abandoned leads to death ANYWHERE in the world. Explains a lot of numerous death tolls each year of dead horses and other animals in 36 states each year due to lack of care, shelter, water, food, etc.

helicopters are the easiest way, and i believe the mmost humane. helicopters can see farther out than anybody on land could. imagine if the horses were being driven towards a ravine and whoever was on the ground didnt know it? the horses would be so freaked they would probably commit suicide just because they had no other way. i dont think there is a more humane way (even if you guys dont think its humane at all).
MebeaCaliforniagirl 1 month ago
that is right at least just have them catch 10 horses a year
horsesrocks12345 1 month ago
Catching wild horses should only be done if it is in the horses best interest. In some cases its better than dying. Unfortunately horses, like many other animals, are losing their freedom, domestication is a life and it's better than none at all.

horsesrocks12345 1 month ago 80
@horsesrocks12345 i believe that too, but if the BLM didn't round up some mustangs, my Mustang/Paso Fino (who i love more than you can even imagine) wouldn't be here with me today. I think that it is humane to round up a few every year, but they shouldn't chase them with helicopters! What if you got one, trained it, and you were on a ride, and a helicopter was flying, your horse most likely would freak out, dump you, and run away, thinking it was being chased!!
Dandyizbeast 1 month ago
@horsesrocks12345
The only truly wild horses are the Przewalski's horses of Mongolia.
maximum411 1 month ago 50
@maximum411 That's a fact.
Bigstallion099 1 month ago
@maximum411 They have been wild for hundreds of years. While they do not have wild origins, they are still considered wild because they have adapted to their environment and developed instinct on how to survive in the wild. They ARE the native species to the area. Im sorry, but cattle bred for meat processing to feed fat Americans at McDonalds arent native species, but they get priority over mustangs because they provide money for some rich corporation.
AquaMustang 3 weeks ago
@AquaMustang
A few hundred years of living as a feral population does not make something a native species. Plant species in the area are not adapted to cope with them.
maximum411 3 weeks ago
@maximum411 imo horses should be left alone. People always have the need to have pets for some odd reason...
Bl4ckHawk1 3 weeks ago
@maximum411
Why?
Dart1311 3 weeks ago
@Dart1311

FallenTemptation 2 weeks ago
@FallenTemptation
No- a wild animal is an animal which is genetically not domesticated. Feral animals are not wild since they are genetically domestic- that is why we have a special term for them. A feral cat or stray dog is not a "wild animal," nor is a feral horse.

boxingBG 1 week ago in playlist Favorite videos
@maximum411 No one wants to control the mustangs' numbers for the sake of native species. They want to control them for the sake of cattle ranchers who graze their stock on public lands - a practice which, by the way, does far more damage to native species and the environment than the mustangs do. The culling of mustangs has been a cruel and barbaric practice. They may not be truly "wild," but that does not mean that they do not deserve our respect and protection.

I dont think so.
slipknotgirl06 1 month ago
@slipknotgirl06 It's not always on all land where there is no grass. Most land has enough grass. It's pure nature that they die but when they die they die free and their offspring will live the same free life. Let nature take its coarse and people that illegally catch them disrupt it.
7leggedfox 1 month ago
@7leggedfox Yes I know. I was just telling people why they are catching them here in Oklahoma, they are dieing of starvation, and then they are sold to people who take them and make them great horses. So they are saved and live a great life.
slipknotgirl06 1 month ago
@slipknotgirl06 If it is legal and has permission then I have nothing against it but I still think that you should leave a horse to live and die naturally. It can be turned into a kids best freind and etc. and be saved but at the same time it seems better to just leave them be. I would understand catching if the populatin grew rapidly but now its not so high.
7leggedfox 1 month ago

Kiimberly333 1 month ago

7leggedfox 1 month ago
Horses that are wilod stay wild. They are never changed. You could take a totaly wild horse and train it dead broke...but the first chance it gets. I bet you that it will run for it's life like it's tail is on fire!!
stuntgirl14 1 month ago
I love horses, I love riding them, but if they're wild, leave them wild. They have a family, then they get taken away. I don't think they're men't to be ridden - Meanwhile, yes I do ride- They're men't to be free. Its like takeing a human some where different and saying they'll be fine in a few days, or weeks, or months, or years. They'll just forget all about they're past, no biggie. We'll, they could be emotionaly hurt. Their outer appearance looks good, they're good. Wrong. It could hurt them.
MissGooglization 1 month ago
@MissGooglization Yes, leave them to run free in our super-industrelized world, were their physical harm would leave them far worse then their mental "damage" would. Are your domestic animals mentaly damaged? No they aren't, and neither are these horses. Horses don't have the same emotions as we do, that means they can't feel 'love', even for their own family. Don't put human emotions in animals, it only leads to disaster.
Idaho278 1 month ago
That's terrible. Just think, those horses will never see their families/herds again. Would you like that if you were a horse? Being forced to compete in rodeos or competitions, and being enclosed in a small field or barn for the rest of your life? Being worked, or whipped after having so much freedom? Being ridden because your "owner" is too fucking lazy to walk? I wouldn't like that.
annie10103 1 month ago
@annie10103 - Come on, after a horse grows up a little bit, they don't even really know who their "families" are. Horses are meant to be ridden, and that was what this country was built upon! Don't be ignorant now...Be somewhat openminded please. :)
MeganLoves2Rope 1 month ago
@MeganLoves2Rope Hm that's kind of sad. That's like saying if a little kid gets abducted, they'll be fine in a few years. They won't remember their family, no big deal. Doesn't seem right. :/

MCDLSG10 2 months ago
mustangs should be free, the BLM is taking them off cause they are ass holes who keep giving the horses land away to ranchers. they mustangs will go exstinct because of them and they are feral. not meant to be tooken from their home and exspected to work for man with out any problems unlike ademestic horse. some people just dont see it but i hope you under stand some day when their are no mustangs left and it will be the BLMs fault!!!!!
sajelt15 2 months ago
@sajelt15 Actually, Mustangs are domesticated animals just like any other horse. It's in their genetics. Their ancestors were domesticated by humans for thousands of years. A couple hundred years of living ferally won't breed that out of them. Right now our problem is *not* that Mustang numbers are dwindling, but that there are too many Mustangs as they have no natural predators in the US and they're starving themselves because there is little food left when there are so many of them.
genevievedee 1 month ago
@sajelt15 By sterilizing and capturing them, we're keeping them from starving to death from overpopulation. However, keeping all these Mustangs and adopting them out is very expensive for the government which is why they've been working on developing a way to keep the Mustang numbers under control in a humane way. It's not cheap and it's not easy but they're continuing to work on the problem. I actually own a BLM Mustang and he's been quite a happy horse for the 7 years I've had him.

Izzadorable 2 months ago
@Izzadorable So since I was born in American that makes me a Native American? I think you misunderstand the meaning of the word "native". Modern horses are actually a foreign species to North America so there is no such thing as a horse that is native to America. There was once a very primitive ancestor of the modern horse that roamed what is now America but they went extinct from hunting nomadic humans. Any horse that is now in the US is not a native.

Some people just don't understand because they never had a horse. By the way..Who would want to catch a WILD mustang????
Bigstallion099 3 months ago 2
@Bigstallion099 The thing is Mustangs aren't wild at all. They're feral. Look up the definition. There's a big difference. Feral animals were bred domestically once and then released into the wild. Wild animals were never domesticated. The problem is that Mustangs have no natural predators in the US so they're becoming too overpopulated and starving to death. The government is sterilizing and adopting them out to cut down on their numbers which is a GOOD thing.

@genevievedee That's a huge fact. I agree.
Bigstallion099 1 month ago
leave the wild horses alone :) they r better off without humans interfering :)
jjahcspringer5 3 months ago

NikkiErinYall 3 months ago 21
@NikkiErinYall Not always are these horse broken with trust. There are many videos of making a horse obay you with cruelty and that's why so many people are against it. If everyone cared and tryed to do the best for the horse this problem wouldn't exist, but unfortunatly some people who shouldn't own horses at all still decide to have them..
Suxiis 3 months ago
@NikkiErinYall it may be the best feeling for you but your not a horse and you don't know what the horse is feeling its just wrong to take a horse from the wild if there in the wild then leave them be !!!!!
Candybabe516 2 months ago
@NikkiErinYall yes ...... its not like there making their life's hard ...... there making them easier
Ainee122 2 months ago
@NikkiErinYall My horse was wild until she was 3 years old, when she was caught and broken in. She had a bond until someone abused her, when she stopped trusting people. She's 13 now, I own her, and she loves me like nothing else. I use natural horsemanship on her and I can walk around outside of a fence without a halter or lead. I've taken walks down the road with me, with cars passing by, and if she ever got frightened she'd stick close to me. She's never run away from me. You're right.
CherubHorse 1 month ago
@NikkiErinYall Yeah, these horses Love being terrorized and corralled and the image at 13 seconds is a yearly event in spain where they pen wild horses -the purpose is to go in and hit the horses with an objects - bats, clubs, etc., all while most of the men are drunk, just to prove their machissimo - rodeos are no better, a lot of animals die in the process, or are so injured they have to be put down - thats "killed" to you, so, nothing like developing a trusting bond with a club or rope right!
bhamblin1 1 month ago
catching wild horses and breaking them in is how this country and world was build and the fucked up government we have now was also built on the back of a horse. how the fuck do you think they got messages acoss states and to other people.
hoop10chick 4 months ago 12

LET THEM RUN FREE STUPID DICKS!
animalcrueltyisevil 4 months ago
@animalcrueltyisevil wild mustangs have no dollar value since the closure of the slaughter plants. You can buy a well breed quarter horse colt right now for under 100 bucks.
Oh and no one was native to the U.S. except maybe the indians and they probably crossed a land mass that connected Alaska to Russia at one time

you stupid fucks horses a amazing creatures they were put in this earth to be companions to us humans, i myself personaly train, not break horses, a horse can be a partner if you train it right and he will work with you not for you . but you have to catch them one way or another.
chicopolevault11 5 months ago

1233Maya 1 month ago
@genevievedee and small stuff like that, and ik this is about horses but if a dog can do it a horse easaly can. Mustangs are harder to tame from what i've heard... a trainer ik says she got 2 horses from the wild, they hav the tattos and everything, one is a mustang and idk what the other is but its pretty tall. It took her 2 days to be able to call the tall one and she'd come happly for a treat, the mustang tryed many times to kill her and one time if her foot hadent goten---
1233Maya 1 month ago
@genevievedee caught in the lead line she would have done it. Its been like 2 years and the tall one is a pretty good drasage horse and her like 5 year old son rides Mia (the tall one) The mustang is usally nice and ridalbe but far from broke, she will acpet an intermedite rider now, on a good day but she has all the spirt and sass she had on day 1. I also know 3 mother/daughters mustangs that are out where i keep my horse, The mother is Tip Top, she is a cowboys horse.---
1233Maya 1 month ago
@genevievedee she is anamazing horse and shes beautiful but if the last time she was used for a lower level rider shee bucked him off and broke his leg in mid air with a hard kick to the knee. One of her daughters is Buck-A-Roo she is pretty and sico like her moma, shes a cowboy horse and shes perfect untill about 30 min in then shes like naawww u need to get off like NOW. Then theres Bell... Really a goruous black mare but meannn you walk by her and she'll put you in the dirt.
1233Maya 1 month ago

I like horses, but I like to see them FREE!!!!!!
deonanna80 8 months ago
@deonanna80 there's nothing wrong with putting a horse in a stall as long as they get out in a pasture often and are with other horses.. There's absolutley nothing wrong with taming a wild horse and having them as your pet..
LandLoop 6 months ago
@deonanna80 What is up with all this crazy hippy talk about horses being WILD AND FREE. If you take a look at the majority of wild horses, you will see they all have one thing in common. Spirit. Any mustang's got it, even after being captured...They'll always have a wild heart, so to speak. But, another thing you see sometimes is a starving, unhealthy animal. That's cause the horses eat down all the 'grazing land' and then they run out of grass! So if someone adopts them, it's a favor to them!
MsHorsecrazycowgirl 5 months ago
@deonanna80 Hey I like other animals including DOGS and I'd love to see them FREE!!! LIKE T
