I'm a sight reader so it only took me an hour or so but I have been playing for many years and I was familiar with the music. I just asked a friend who also plays. She says it took her about a week. Thanks for writing.

Ahh I see. The reason I asked is that I've got the original sheet but the melody of the song doesn't really come through when you just play the piano lines. I was a bit disappointed because I love this song and it sounds beautiful on the piano! Your improvisation sounds great. =D

Thanks for writing. I'm using the standard Wicked Piano/Vocal book. I'm improvising with additional chords and notes which is why it sounds a bit more full. This definitely isn't the 'pure' version though and classically trained pianists might not be too happy with me :)

I've been playing piano for most of my life, so learning didn't take too long. Being familliar with the music/cd makes it easier. The note/chords are also not too complicated.

Interesting. You use the vocal line, correct? And I assume you improv with the left hand using the chord symbols? I do the same.

You definitely know what you're talking about... I use the vocal line and improv with the left hand, and from time to time glimpse at the treble for the piano part.

Ooh! That's what I do exactly! Whenever there isnt any singing I dip into the treble and play parts of that, but I primarily use the vocal line. I love this song and it's so fun to play.

I really don't like the Wicked Song/Lyrics book that they sell because they miss a lot of important parts in the songs. For good is one of the only songs that isn't changed. And I love it. although, I just improv the entire song using the chord symbols and the vocal line. i love wicked!

I just used the Piano/Vocal Wicked Music book and added a few notes in the left/right hand to mimic what some of the other instruments do in the orchestra; I've seen the play 9 times - but other than that I'm not using different sheet music.
