The Hitman would often knock himself out with his hits at Iowa. The Hawkeyes miss him. He was THE model Kirk Ferentz player. Definitely not the cookie cutter player but he played his ass off. 4.3 speeds and a 40 inch vertical really helped too.

The reason sanders is hurt so often is because he does what some of other NFL players do not do and that is go out and put it all on the line for his team even if he does get hurt....but when sanders is in the game the other team seems to notice the difference.
Sanders can hit hard but his hands arent the greatest. The biggest negative on him though is that he only plays less than half a season typically , heck Ronnie Lott showed up every week and even lost a finger during a game and went back out and played !!! No shit !!

Yeah, but what people don't realize is that for much of last season, 3/4 of the starting secondary was out, leaving ONLY Ed Reed (McAlister- IR, Landry- IR, and Rolle missed about 8 games) and they STILL finished number 2 in pass D...The best help to a pass d is a pass rush, and the colts pass rush is better than the ravens. Thats why the steelers finished number 1 in pass d...not because of they have a great secondary, but because they can rush 4, drop 7 and still get a lot of pressure.

Sorry, buddy. The Tampa 2 does produce stat crazy safeties. John Lynch, Nick Collins, Darren Sharper, and Mike Brown are just a couple of Tampa 2 Safeties that were very successful. Bob Sanders is very talented, but he isn't on the same level as Reed, or Polamalu. The guy has 5 career interceptions. Reed, Collins, and Polamalu beat that last year alone. He could be great, but we will never know if he doesn't stay on the field...

The reason sanders is hurt so often is because he does what some of other NFL players do not do and that is go out and put it all on the line for his team even if he does get hurt....but when sanders is in the game the other team seems to notice the difference.

Sanders can hit hard but his hands arent the greatest. The biggest negative on him though is that he only plays less than half a season typically , heck Ronnie Lott showed up every week and even lost a finger during a game and went back out and played !!! No shit !!

ED REED is the best safety ever to play the position. The man MAKES things happen. Makes the important tackles, interceptions, returns. Last year he had 9 interceptions.........IN 5 GAMES. Your boy sanders put up 2 all season.......

Ed Reed is without question the best safety in the league right now..He's on pace to set the ALL TIME int, return yards, and defensive td records and he is also either the hardest or second hardest hitting safety in the league right now...When Reed played SS (his first three years in the league)he was better IN EVERY SINGLE STATISTICAL CATEGORY than Polamalu AND Sanders..if Reed played for a team with more fans, espn would be wondering if he will be best ever, and all u wouldn't be so delusional

yeah dude josephFbroseph is right. the ravens have an overall dominating defense. the colts are known for their offense and their shit defense. that whole defense has 3 solid players. mathis and freeney at ends, and sanders as a safety....meaning they only have one real player in the pass coverage. i cant rly say whose better cuz their teams are so different but they're both incredible safeties

Yeah, but what people don't realize is that for much of last season, 3/4 of the starting secondary was out, leaving ONLY Ed Reed (McAlister- IR, Landry- IR, and Rolle missed about 8 games) and they STILL finished number 2 in pass D...The best help to a pass d is a pass rush, and the colts pass rush is better than the ravens. Thats why the steelers finished number 1 in pass d...not because of they have a great secondary, but because they can rush 4, drop 7 and still get a lot of pressure.

Sorry, buddy. The Tampa 2 does produce stat crazy safeties. John Lynch, Nick Collins, Darren Sharper, and Mike Brown are just a couple of Tampa 2 Safeties that were very successful. Bob Sanders is very talented, but he isn't on the same level as Reed, or Polamalu. The guy has 5 career interceptions. Reed, Collins, and Polamalu beat that last year alone. He could be great, but we will never know if he doesn't stay on the field...

Thank you! he played 15 games last season and still didn't get 100+ tackles or even more than 2 picks.........People use the defensive scheme as an excuse, but even his team mate Bethea has a career high of four picks in a season, and has at least one 100+ tackle season.

You don't know what you're talking about...I watched every single sean taylor game..he was a liability in coverage..he was getting better at it, but still a liability...There was a stretch of about four games in a row his last season where he gave up a td, oh, and Taylor was also without question a harder hitter than Dawkins....Reed is much better than both of them

the reason ed reed doesnt get as many tackles as bob sanders is because ed reed is a free saftey and he is always 20 yards deep before the ball is snapped bob sanders is a strong saftey and his job is to stop the run so thats why ed reed doesnt get as many tackles
