  • Who was that gunnery sergeant?

  • @FubbyDoo at 0:38, you forgot to add the sear and disconnector.

  • I love Colt M1911!

  • Superb modelling!

  • Not a 1911 fan, but nice animation.

  • No recoil!? CHEATER!!

  • Does the program handle the physics of the bullet moving from the clip to the chamber?

  • @lehman

Not quite, just keyframe animation using a spline as a path.

  • That's Suck, Make me Sleep :D, Buut Really Nice :D

  • Cool vid love the 1911 just think this gun was out before the Titanic.

  • Nice, a good mixture of precision parts with artistic scenery and movements.

  • @ydna2

Thanks , glad you liked it.

  • An awesome video showing off an awesome handgun. Got to love the M1911A1!

  • @ithpally

Thanks. I agree, best handgun ever made.

  • That is very cool :)

  • Wow! I am not familiar with those programs, just began learning solidworks, but I guess it has a different scope than what you are working with.

  • this is amazing!!! How long did it take you?

  • @bmanky

There is about 25 hours worth of work on the model itself. The animation took another 10 hours or so to model , animate and texture plus the afterburn effects. The renders in total probably took about 12-15 hours. I have a couple more hours in putting it all together in Vegas Movie studio.

  • awesome vid thanks man

  • @velikismajlic

    Thanks for the comment :)

  • that music is marching me up the wall

  • I think us gun nuts/tech geeks want more of a look inside the gun and how it works. So slow down at the looks inside. Thanks :)

  • Great video. Wish it was slower. I liked the music.

  • @tikelis

Thanks for the comment. What do you think needed to be slower?

  • Stupide music...

  • this is not a real 1911 as the grip is squaire and john browning made a pantent on it with it cut off. do reashearch no bullshit but either which way nice vid

  • time to watch worst nipple piercing reaction ever

  • To think John Browning did this with a pencil and a piece of paper....

  • When you xrayed the internals, a few shots slow mo would be awesome. But I am being picky, this vid was excellent. Thank you.

  • @TheTundrawolf

    Thanks for the comment!

If I ever do this again I will add that for sure :)

  • Nice fucking job, dude!

  • Now take it to a 3D printer, make molds out of it to make the metal parts and PROFIT :-p

  • @GR8TM4N

LOL! if only is was that easy. Thanks for the comment :)

  • @GR8TM4N Search for the 1911A1-REDUX.pdf - it's a full CAD blueprint for the 1911A1.

Some people have made their own 1911 frames, but it's an expensive and bothersome process. (mating the slide with the frame requires a lot of precision if you want the best reliability)

  • im in the process of making one of these in 3ds max too. I was wondering how you created the body of the gun the trigger area. I basically got all the inner pieces done but Im trying to figure out what the best way to make everything else would be. thanks for the info thatd be great

  • @gogetitlady

The large chamfer in the trigger area was very time consuming. No real trick though. I just used the cut tool and then moved the vertices around until I got it looking right.

The frame started out as a spline with an extrude. It helps if you have good reference images and blueprints.

  • like for the animation...doesnt explain well though

  • @Cyan3boN

Thanks for the comment. It wasn't supposed to be a tutorial, what did you want explained?

  • Very nice render. Great presentation.

  • @TheSeoulTrain

    Thank you :)

  • well when ur in war i dont think u need to know what the function of a gun is. great vid man :D

  • @legopercyjacksonfan1

    Thanks! Glad you liked it..

  • @FubbyDoo glad i could watch it....so....do u like wafflez :D

  • @legopercyjacksonfan1

  • you should make weapons for video games

  • @bubba062393

Thanks for the complement, now just share that with someone who's hiring :)

  • How long to make this, What was the final render time?

  • @GrimReaper160490

There is about 25 hours worth of work on the model itself. The animation took another 10 hours or so to model , animate and texture plus the afterburn effects. The renders in total probably took about 12-15 hours. I have a couple more hours in putting it all together in Vegas Movie studio.

  • thats a great model. Great work :)

  • very nice sir!!
