@BlackhawkBrown God only presents Himself to those who will submit to Him. He doesn't waste His time with those who will not submit to Him. He's not going to put up with, "Oh, Boo-Hoo. Why do you let children starve in Africa? Oh, Boo-Hoo. Why can't guys fuck other guys in the ass? Oh, Boo-Hoo. What right do You have to tell my poor little self what to do? Oh, Boo-Hoo. You're so mean. Oh, Boo-Hoo....BOO the fucking HOOOOOOO". There, does that answer it?
Questioner: Since there is such inexplicable degree of human suffering, such as poverty and violence, how can there be a benevolent God watching all this.
Ravi's answer:: I know a person who is suffering, and he still believes in God. This proves that is true !!
In other words the proof for God is faith in God !!!
lol thats cool you can just e-mail me when u get the chance servantsofchrist7@yahoo.com thats my websites e-mail address if i dont respond today i will definetly respond tomorrow.
@ServantofChrist007 i want to know a bit about you (just for curiosities sake). which country do you live in and how old are you? and if you dont mind me asking, male or female? i presume male but base that on absolutely nothing. i just like to know what kind of person im talking to- im sure you re a decent person. when i said i think you re misguided, i did not intend to offend.
@ServantofChrist007 i cant reply to you, it says there was an error with validation and that i must use a comma-seperate with the users? im new at this
@GOOdGuyGreg1 lol thats cool you can just e-mail me when u get the chance servantsofchrist7@yahoo.com thats my websites e-mail address if i dont respond today i will definetly respond tomorrow.
To be honest i dont think any biblical facts would be sufficient for you. The issue is not evidence because there is plenty of that if you look at it with an unbiased opinion. A good source if you are really interested is my website: wix.com/servantsofchrist7/truth I have a History and science section that deals with different evidence that i think you will find quite interesting and maybe answer some questions you might have.
@ServantofChrist007 i will probably look at your website if i have time. but i want to say, theres no difference between facts and biblical facts. either its true or it isnt. yes some stuff in the bible is true. yes some prophecies did come true. but also some isnt true. some are straight up wrong. some prophecies didnt come true. the bible contradicts itself on many occasions. if it truly is the word of god then he did a lousy job didnt he, or he chose the wrong people to spread his word.
@GOOdGuyGreg1 You know you seem like a good guy greg LOL no but really If at anytime you want to go over some of the biblical prophecies that you think did not fulfill themselves or some of the "bible stuff" you feel is not true then I am completely willing to spend time dealing with those questions one at a time with the best answers i can.
@ServantofChrist007 ok, lets start with a very simple one for you- the earth being flat. i dont want to hear that it is a metaphor because it is used too many times, some of which not in context. it can be applied when satan and jesus are talking and they are looking over the lands of earth-that can be a metaphor, but it cannot apply when it says the earth is a circle. or it is as if one casts a tent upon it. and i was originally christian so i do approach with an open mind.
@GOOdGuyGreg1 Also i agree with you there is no middle ground; either the Bible is what God said it is or it isnt. Facts are facts, but if you dont give it an honest approach how can you ever know.
@ServantofChrist007 How do you honest approach :?Witches, kill them. Homosexuals, kill them.fortunetellers, kill them. those who don`t listen to priests, kill them. those hitting their dad, kill them. those who curse their parents, kill them, adulterers, kill them. fornicators, kill them. people who believe in other religions, kill them. non-believers,kill them. fals prohets ,kill them. blasphemers, kill them. those who work on the Sabbath, kill them. This is the word of Jesus( god
What am i on about? thats just a simple question. To call me a mindless sheep because I follow the word of God is a very ignorant statement. I have taken the time to research what I believe in detail not because someone told me too. I read it with an opened mind and realized the truth that it contains. so again what is your intent? is it to find a way to bash the word of God or is it because you are seeking to understand? because no matter what answer i provide it would not be satisfactory toyou
@ServantofChrist007 if you gave me facts then i would understand them for what they are. i could list a lot of things that are wrong with the bible's teachings. a lot of things have been disproven. i am fine with having faith. what i do not like is when it obstructs progess and adds conflict to the world. when they argue evolution shouldnt be taught, that gays shouldnt have equal rights. when they say that noahs ark was true- all of this is harmful to humanity
@Strefanasha 1 piece of evidence that god exists please then 1 piece to justify why the christian god is correct and all the others have it wrong. thanks
really? atheists have higher moral values statistically? Why then is it that Russia has the highest murder rate in the world? A largely atheist society.
@keepseekinghim well why (take america for example) do atheists contribute a fare lower percentage (0.05%) of the prison population whereas christianity is much higher? why are countries like sweden which are atheist dominated countries as well have an incredibly low crime rate. do not pick and choose countries without looking at the average statistics. and that is atheism shows a far less crime rate per capita.
@keepseekinghim Wrong. Russia does not have the highest murder rate in the world. Nonsense. It's not even in the top 20. You have no leg to stand on in this. Religious people are undeniably less tolerant, more violent, more bigotted and just simply bad than those without belief. Please point to an example of a bomb being set off to encourage people to stop believing in some god. Please do that.
"...the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." 1 Corinthians 2:14-15
The good news is you dont have to remain that way. Just accept the gift that Christ offers freely and you will understand; the things you once perceived as foolish is in reality the very foundation of wisdom. Also read Proverbs 18:2
@ServantofChrist007 Your answer is breathtakingly circular and so is really not an answer at all. How would you respond to a quote from the Koran? Or from Harry Potter, for that matter? Nonsense! you'd shout.
@hairyreasoner What answer? i did not attempt to answer any question. I simply made an observational statement to your comment. as to how i would respond to a quote from the koran and harry potter....none of those books have the historical backing that the Bible has and you know that. I would like to respond to a comment you posted concerning violence in the name of Atheism/non-belief read this book: "Tortured for Christ" you will see what kind of "Bomb" was set off. 1 name Stalin
@ServantofChrist007 stalin was atheist yes, but people didnt die because of his atheist belief. they died because of famine due to his attempted rapid industrialisation. thats like blaming christianity for hitler as he was a roman catholic. what you can blame christianity for is mass genocide, rape, slavery, the crusades, witch hunts, the spanish inquisition and all other inquistions for that matter, the dark ages, the balkan ethnic conflict and prejudice against gays.
@GOOdGuyGreg1 The "catholic church" is responsible for the crusades, witch hunts, inquisition etc. acting under the disguise of being Christian. If you check out some of the history Christians were actually slaughtered by the Roman Catholic church for not following the doctrines of the church which stood for biblical truth. check out my website as I have plenty of info on this very topic. Wix.com/servantsofchrist7/truth i believe you will b blown away by what you find.
@ServantofChrist007 the catholic church was not responsible for the balkan ethnic conflict was it? majority christians are prejudice against homosexuals arent they? no all branches of christianity have done their share of evil
@GOOdGuyGreg1 I have to say i have never heard of the balkan ethnic conflict but I will do some research. Either way you should never judge a system by its abuse but rather by its foundation and teachings. For example the bible says "do violence to no man" so if anyone is doing contrary to that it is not Christian whether they say they are or not. For example If i said i was an Atheist but I believe in God would I truly be an Atheist? of course not, even if i called myself one. ----continued
@ServantofChrist007 yes i dont judge by extremeists but the reason there is conflict is because the bible is very contradictory. it says not to be violent yet god ordered 7 genocides, 5 of which were his doing personally. that is where people get confused about what is right and what is their belief. that is why (take the balkan ethnic conflict)- i know it was nationalism etc but orthodox serbians thought that they were pleasing their god because of their xenophobia. the bible is dangerous
@GOOdGuyGreg1 I hear this retort alot when dealing with the judgement of God. For example, When people say that God ordered the destruction of different nations no one ever says why. Do you know that the the nations that were commanded to be eradicated were nations that comitted such abominations as sacrificing their children in fire, murder, etc. Also dont forget the Lord is no respector of persons he also allowed his own people to be punished for these acts.
@ServantofChrist007 and ive heard that same reply so many times. think of it this way. if the entire city was a bunch of child sacrificers and murderes, then the population of that city would die out after a few generations. so therefore there were some innocent people. so god's solution to stop them from killing each other was to kill them all. thats like going up to a suicide cult and saying 'if you dont stop commiting suicide then ill kill you and that'll teach you.
@GOOdGuyGreg1 You know better than that; if the violence is allowed to continue it will do nothing but spread look at our world today Thats why Jesus came to stop the evil and save us from this mindset that this world is prone too. "if you dont stop committing suicide?" and not just each other those practices would have surely spread and I think you know that.
@ServantofChrist007 what are you on about? i want a straight up answer, yes or no (and this is what you think, not what your bible says). was that the BEST solution to stop people from sinning? do you think that it was morally just? lets use the egyptian first born case- was that the best solution? i dont want to know what the bible teaches/says, i want to know what you think. if you can think for yourself then you re just another mindless sheep that needs to be told what to do.
@hairyreasoner ahah probably the most stubborn of all the creations. i really dont like it for what it does to people. where they believe that virgins bear children, snakes talk and that some guy called noah made a boat to hold over 10 million animals from a flood where all the water mysteriously disappeard.
@GOOdGuyGreg1 As for the homosexuality issue the Bible clearly teaches that it is against God's will and an abomination for which i do not apologize, but it also speaks against beastiality, murder, adultery, drunkeness, etc. These are ALL sins before The Heavenly Father. He sent his son to save the world from all sins including homosexuality. I am prejudice i admit....but to ALL sin not just homosexuality just as im sure you are prejudice against pedophillia.
@ServantofChrist007 and on that note of prejudice against homosexuality is where i am against christianity. simply because the bible says its wrong, you just go along with it because that is your belief. if the bible said it was ok, then you'd be fine with it. you discard rational thought simply because you do what you re told. there is not a single reason why homosexuality should be looked down upon. you just do not think for yourself. i ask you, why are YOU against homosexuality?
@GOOdGuyGreg1 We could argue on what "WE" think is right all day long but it wouldnt go anywhere because its too subjective there are too many opinions. But we must be humble enough to Go to a higher power above us that sets the standard. For example you and I could argue whether a line is straight or crooked all day long but until we get a ruler we will never know. That ruler tells us what is straight no matter our opinion.
@ServantofChrist007 thats just foolish. genocide is any regard is evil and when oyu start saying that 'it doesnt matter what we think' and that 'its what he deems right and right to be', that is dangerous thinking. that type of thinking is only harmful to the human race because that is basically saying, if god says its ok then it is. thats brainless. think for yourself. if you disagree with what is good then that proves that god is simply a tyrant and a dictator. because we have no say
@GOOdGuyGreg1 I have a quick question because i actually like addressing these types of questions because they seem like they are coming from an honest place inside you and these are questions I believe anyone should ask. When you speak with a Christian like me what is your intent? I dont mean that in a negative way at all im just really curious.
@ServantofChrist007 well its not as if i want you to wake up and suddenly differentiate fact from fiction. im not sure how old you are, im just a teenager. but i think there are three types of christians (scared, misguided or stupid). i do not think you are stupid, i think you re either scared or misguided. for the misguided you present with reason and logic (like im doing). for the scared you simply pity them, and for the stupid you just walk the fuck away.
@GOOdGuyGreg1 Well im definetly not either of the three. its sad that you think along those terms. It shows me that either you have not studied the bible in context or you submit to what popular athiest say is true. To say someone is misguided you would have to in turn understand what they are misguided on and since we have not gotten into any real conversations about theology i dont know how you have come to your conclusions.
@ServantofChrist007 im not just against christianity, im against religion in general. either 99% (assume one is correct) or 100% of all religions are false. and when you look at all the hornedous things that have occurred because of it. and you wonder why im against it? and of course, you think that your belief is special. you think that your book is right and all others are wrong. if a god did exist, why wouldnt he just stay out of our affairs? let life be by itself? no you have to assert.
@hairyreasoner And had not left any clues such as prophecy, fine tuning, intelligent design, a number of empires denying him in shambles, a resurrection and a billion of people in personal contact with him.
Why don't religious people ask God to cure Downs Syndrome? Or to physically regrown limbs? Why do people tend to ask God for things that naturally occur in the first place? Why, for instance, has there never been anyone cured of a genetic mutation? Yet, we give praise when head aches go away (after taking advil, of course). This is not an effort to debunk your belief, but a serious question that must be answered by anyone who takes their own faith seriously.
Zacharias way of reasoning is unusual, he does not structure his argument the same western way, but neither did Jesus, and his effort to understand the question behind the question put is admirable. And John Lennox in the background taking notes!
@CJFCarlsson He didn't get to the "question behind the question". He dodged the question, i.e., "Why did God not seem to care about most of humanity for most of human history?" Instead of answering this embarrassing question, he just deflected it with some pathetic and amusing anecdotes. I suppose this is "admirable", if you admire evasiveness.
@CJFCarlsson I don't believe that Christians know anything of a God and I'm not evil. I despise wrong doing by anyone. I'm a pacifist actually. I don't even like political conflicts no matter what the reason or outcome. Your statement is extremely ill-informed, prejudiced and judgemental. Being judgemental is a practice that your own faith and God have a real problem with you partaking in. If you must be faithfully righteous, understand your responsibilities to your own God.
@13eyeofthebeholder I was not even talking to you, was I? Atheists may have morals or they may not. They lack a moral foundation and they lack a belief in that that there will be a judgement. Note that how I see things is NOT the final verdict. And certainly not yours.
@CJFCarlsson By making statements such as "How come atheists allow themselves so much evil" on a public, answerable forum. You actually were 'talking' to me and anyone else who'd like to read and reply.
Not everyone requires a fairytale to have a grounding in moral behaviour. Religion doesn't own the rights to being moralistic. Being moralistic is a choice that many including myself choose to accept through their own doing. Yr judgemental attitude spits on Matthew 7:1 and Luke 6:37
@13eyeofthebeholder The bible says atheists are fools if you want to read the parts that apply to YOU. How come atheists allow themselvesso much evil?
@CJFCarlsson "The bible says atheists are fools if you want to read the parts that apply to YOU. How come atheists allow themselves much evil?" -YOU
An atheist believes that there could be no God. I don't claim to know such things. My original statement was "I don't believe that Christians know anything of a God". I'm not atheist. more Agnostic if anything. Of course the bible will call any one a fool who doesn't believe. How do you think that it got so many to believe? So much has been proven
@CJFCarlsson wrong in the bible that it could not be considered by an intelligent person as a credible source of information. So many completely wrong facts that all it's apparent 'factual' information is rendered null and void by default.
@13eyeofthebeholder And do you believe that I was impressed by the way you read the bible? You have to read ANY text with a positive intention to understand, rather than to try and find errors. A lot of extremely intelligent people read the bible and understand it. Even you could if you read with the right intention, fool.
@CJFCarlsson I was raised in what could be considered an extremely devout household. The bible was basically the only reading material I was allowed access to for a long period of time. As you can imagine. I thirsted for knowledge once I hit my late teens. Despite being on my own and being able to read what I liked at 17. I still studied various religions, coupled with scientific publications. As a child, the bible was indoctrinated within me as positive. Not my fault it's nonsense.
@13eyeofthebeholder But it would be your fault if it was not and you made no sense of it. So if someone understands it and you make bleeting noises the question is settled.
@CJFCarlsson Judging something as nonsense and not seeing the sense in something are two completely different things. A very Christaian argument your choosing to use against me. When you can't defeat, simply claim ignorance.
@13eyeofthebeholder I have little interest in defeating you. I just stated that if you can make no sense of the bible and I can the argument is settled in my favour.
The same way if you have no argument for your faith. Then there is no argument. Logic is that way for a reason.
@13eyeofthebeholder I thought only wifes told other people what they were thinking. You should look up William Lane Craig or John Lennox and compare your scholarly achievements with theirs. They seem to have convinced a lot of others about having used logic.
I can understand you are thinking about this discussion in terms of being "defeated" or not. It is not. It is about life and death. Wether you want to live a life with a set of morals you made up yourself.
@13eyeofthebeholder Why should anyone be comfortable with someone walking the same earth with him, believing himself to be just a blob of atoms without purpose of responsibilties? I bet you get asked this question a lot after you gave up becoming a christian.
@CJFCarlsson have purpose. I'm a member of the most intelligent species in a whole solar system. My responsibilties are too educate and raise my children with morals and to value their own lives and what they make of it. Who needs more? I never get asked the question you posed. Obviously I'm not as weak of a human as you are. I'm comfortable with being me. I'm sorry that you don't have the same feeling. BTW, Your take on religous morality is skewed. Religion is responsible for more
@13eyeofthebeholder That sounds oh so wonderful- didn't atheist regimes murder way more people than anyone else?
And wether you say you have a purpose is not very relevant. If you lie you believe you are answerable to noone. and if you like many atheist fry your children unborn then that is OK with you too, Isnt it? And if both alternatives are OK then there is no porpoise.
@CJFCarlsson No, they didn't. People who didn't believe in a god may have killed people, but you know what every mass-murderer in history also had in common? None believed in Zeus. Shall we start listing all the things they didn't believe in as the cause? These were dictators who ran their countries like religions. They didn't kill in the name of "no god."
@TurboFool I bet someone is thankful for your try at defending Zeus for whatever reason. The worst massmurders were violently against christianity. Like the commies and nazis. Atheist. Everytime you give up the rock foundation of morality culture goes that way.
Christianity is the only religion that counts, really.
@CJFCarlsson Except that's provably false. The safest, cleanest, healthiest countries in the world are the LEAST religious. Wouldn't work that way if what you were saying is true.
And most mass murders throughout history were carried out in the name of a religion. Those that weren't had nothing to do with trying to spread atheism. Nobody cares about spreading atheism enough to kill over it.
@TurboFool We were talking mass murders and not cleanlyness. The cleanest and healthiest countries were overwhelmingly christian and nothing else. Only Japan comes to mind as an exception. And the communists cared about spreading atheism enough to kill. Are you socialist?
@CJFCarlsson And usually atheists just do not care about others and kill because of that. Not to proselytise, just to gain an advantage that they believe they can get away with. Like abortion. It is nice and hygienic. Unless you are a phoetus.
@CJFCarlsson Where on EARTH do you get these lies? Atheists DO care about others, and they do NOT try to kill because they don't. Atheists are some of the most law-abiding, respectful, caring citizens on the planet. Do you bother to read and learn at ALL before you make up facts? Check the stats. Atheists continually outrank all other beliefs in crime, education, and other stats. Where does this garbage come from?
@CJFCarlsson You're completely wrong. Look at ALL of the top-ranked countries now. They're secular in nature, and predominantly atheist and agnostic. Do you just make things up? And no, the communists did NOT care about spreading atheism, they cared about spreading COMMUNISM.
@CJFCarlsson Well, you'd make a valid point if almost any of it were true. If you bothered to actually learn statistics about crime rates, fidelity, marriage success, teen pregnancy, etc., you'd find atheists are doing far better. We base our morals (well, ethics) off of what's good for society, not an ancient book.
@TurboFool If we do not share the same values it is perfectly OK for you to say that atheists do better statistically. I would still have to check what you mean. And if you base your morals on what is good for society then you ARE socialist. That book is not not only ancient but burried by now.
@CJFCarlsson Are crime, fidelity, marriage success, and teem pregnancy relative? They have nothing to do with our values. They're pretty easy to determine. And you need to look up the definition of socialism, my friend. I do not think that word means what you think it means...
@TurboFool I have seen it in practice and I have seen the ruins of the old soviet union. If the practice differs so much from the words then it is a lie.
@CJFCarlsson communism is not anti religious! it is not linked with atheism. just because atheists dont believe in an afterlife, doesnt mean we have no moral code. otherwise you would have elderly atheists going around killing people for fun. that is a stupid generalisation. we arent out to get you. i can name countless events where christianit has fucked over millions of people yet i dont generalise the entire christian populace as extremists and murderes. stop being retarded
@GOOdGuyGreg1 I am to believe it was just for fun Marx called religon opium for the people and all communist regimes have persecuted christians. Communists have a moral where they can victimize whomever they please for the "good of the people" and ordinary atheist have no declared moral and believe that whatever they get away with will go unpunished. Either is crap.
@CJFCarlsson communism is a political and economic stance, like capitalism. do you associate capitalism with religion? communism doesnt allow people to victimize whoever they please for the good of the people. stop lying. just because atheists believe there is no afterlife doesnt mean their actions will go unpunished. we think there is one life and why waste that life in prison. we also have a conscience which means i wouldnt do to others what i would want them to do to me
@GOOdGuyGreg1 Communism is a grabbing of the individual freedom. Not an economical posture. It is the belief the individual is subordinate the governement. Capitalism gives me freedom to worship and to produce. Erich Honecker ended up with 50 cars where it was lucky to have one in eastern germany and Leonid Breshnew had a fair bit of gold when ordinary people had trouble finding enough to eat. Communism is particular who is persecuted.
@CJFCarlsson what? "Communism is particular who is persecuted."? what does taht mean? what does the wealth of people have to do with religion? yes communism is linked to a lack of religion. how is it anit religious? how is atheism anti religious? and yes communism is an economic stance you twat
@GOOdGuyGreg1 If you force someone to live according to what you believe is best for them and they lack food, clothes and basics of life because you are unable to understand what they need then that is a problem. Same think if you start forcing people to think thoughts you believe are good for them. There is where christianity and communism clash.
@CJFCarlsson so the necessities for living and religion are intwined how? they didnt die because of their restirction of faith. they died because of famine. not the prohibition of religion. and not all communism restricts religion. communism relates to state owned property. it means that all industries are owned by the government and all proceeds go to the government to be evenly distributed. not all communism is anti religious. that is again an unfair generalization.
@GOOdGuyGreg1 We are talking about communism, a mixed up ideology that lays claim to humans as slaves to the state. And if you believe communism is able to distribute wealth then you really should come up with a better explanation for China becoming vastly richer through liberalisation and Russia, unfree but freer, coming back from the ashes of the Soviet union.
@CJFCarlsson the ideals of communism arent thats bad. the idea of equality and no heavy distinguishment between the rich and the poor. in some cases its better than capitalism like how somebody can earn more for doing less. or that someone can get a better job through people that they know. the reason why it doesnt work is because it limits productivity and provides no incentive to work any harder. communism is not an evil institution, its just not practical.
@GOOdGuyGreg1 The idea that you can force results of labour or property from one person and give to another is evil and the condonation of force over right. Putting yourself in the place of God.
@GOOdGuyGreg1 And do tell me what part of the bible has "fucked over millions of people". Or did you mean something else? Like "I do not like to be held responsible for my actions".
@CJFCarlsson well i could draw mention to the slavery condoned in the bible. i could mention the incest that was forced through adam and eve and through noahs ark. i could argue the 7 genocides in the bible which also was followed by mass rape in some circmstances. i could even argue about what christians have done in the name of god, saying condoms are bad thus promoting aids in africa, mentioning the crusades, the spanish inquisition and the balkan ethnic conflicts, homosexuality etc.
@GOOdGuyGreg1 You are inferring incest and do not know anything. And what do you have against voluntary slavery, which is what the bible talks about throughout the new testament? You really are stretching the letters and still will not get to the billions that atheist regimes have oppressed.
@CJFCarlsson and when you make reference to the billions of people suppressed under atheist regimes, that is a fallacy. you re reffering to stalin and Mao as I presume, yes they were both atheists but atheism had nothing to do with their deaths of the people. atheism is a lack of belief in god. people died because they tried for rapid industrialisation and failed and went itno famine. thats like comparing christianity with hitler because hitler was a roman catholic. that is wrong!
@GOOdGuyGreg1 Atheism is the belief that if you can get away with evil you are home free. Of course you have a conscience. Or maybe not. Anyway whatever you do from a position of power or unnoticed you can get away with. Which explains communism and most youtube atheists as well.
@CJFCarlsson thats not atheism. im done with you. im over arguing. you re truly lost. by your logic, if im certain i can get away with a crime, ill do it if it gives any benefit to me whatsoever. thats a lie. why is atheism in america only 0.05% which is far lower than the christian percentage. why does sweden have an incredibly low crime rate per capita? when is is atheist dominated?
@GOOdGuyGreg1 You might be a good person but then again perhaps not so good that you are able to answer for ALL communists and atheists? And the basic, basic faith of atheism is that there is no afterlife= so the conclusion is valid that if you can get away with something during your life time, you are home free.
As for Sweden. We don't have an incredibly low crime rate. We used to have that historically. These days we have tribal warfare in many places.
@CJFCarlsson i never said i can answer for all of communists and atheists. all im saying it dont generalize! dont think that whether or not i believe in a supernatural deity or not, that doesnt affect one's character. and your tribal warfare is not due to atheism is it? and i cannot reiterate tis enough, a lack of incentive punishment for a crime does not mean there are no repucussions.
@GOOdGuyGreg1 Of course you can not answer for them, whereas christianity actually is a lot better defined. All atheist atempts at running states find this out.
You are right about the swedish situation that there is a lot more to it than just the shift from absolute morals, economics and ethnic situations have also changed.
@GOOdGuyGreg1 I should mention that before we secularised we had a couple of murders per year. These days it is a couple of hundred and we lead the league for rapes. Not to mention youth suicide and abortions.
The answer is not only because we are now officially evil but in part Sweden today is a more evil place than when we were a christian nation.
@CJFCarlsson all governments should remain secular. you cannot argue against that. and a secular government has absolutely nothing to do with atheism! the controversial topic of abortions is also a matter of opinion. i for one am for it as long as it is in the early stages. no i dont enjoy killing babies but i have my reasoning for it.
@GOOdGuyGreg1 And Hitler believed in aryan power, that right was subjugate to force. That is not roman catholic. He committed suicide which is a non-christian act. You do not commit suicide believing you will end up answering to God.
@13eyeofthebeholder ".....So many completely wrong facts that all it's apparent 'factual' information is rendered null and void by default." in this case you should provide example - that would add credibility to your assertion:-)
I saw this too. Praise the Lord and giving love to the beggars... and making them walk. He will grant you his gifts if you believe in him, His generocity is endless.
Been an entire week trying to find Jesus after kneeling and praying. Found nothing. Maybe I'm just not insane enough to see God, what with him being so imaginary and all.
@boosie007666 God doesn't work like Amazon.com, you place on order and it arrives on your doorstep in a couple days. God isn't too mighty to act with subtlety, so if you're waiting for a dream or a booming voice to come down from above, your focus may be in the wrong place. Also, as I've experienced, if you say to yourself, I know God will not come, then He'll give you your privacy and will not come. If you open up your heart and mind to Him, then at the perfect time, He will make you understand
You know there's this thing called a magic flying unicorn who created the universe? You can't see him, test for him or ever experience him. Although, you will experience him if you absolutely 100% believe in him. We know he exists because of a book, one out of many, that says he does, plus the universe proves it. The only way to know he's real is to 'open your heart and mind'. People say that just means ignore all reality.
@boosie007666 By repeating my words in a satirical way, you haven't proven that there is no truth in them. You seemed to be seeking God (you watched this video after all), so what I offered was helpful tips that you might find Him. You might not want to mock my advice before you even try it. If you aren't going to try it and aren't seeking God, then I guess we have nothing to discuss together. So, nevermind. No one's making you try it, or watch Ravi's videos.
@ShanghaiHilltop It wasn't satire. It was merely pointing out that there is as much truth to your view in a god as there is to anyone's view of anything else that can't be proven. 'Opening up your heart and mind' is the same bullshit as 'you'll know when you're dead', effectively saying you must blindly believe.
Believe me when I say I'd love to find some evidence for a god. I'd be rich as all hell if I had it. Sadly, in reality where I live, we can't have evidence for the non-existent.
@boosie007666 God can be proven and has been to people all over the world. Its something they know in their hearts, even though that's not physical proof to show others. We don't need physical evidence. But we don't blindly believe. I don't. I never endorse blind faith.
Just because you haven't found proof that He exists doesn't mean He's not real. I'm not dead, and I know He's real, from experience. I can't prove Him to you. You have to find Him yourself, I was just trying to help you do that.
@ShanghaiHilltop That's exactly the nonesensical stuff I'm talking about. Feeling something in your heart is not proof. It's mental to even say 'well I felt something, it must be god!' especially when there's thousands of gods to pick from.
So your god exists just as much as any other god does, since they all feel the same. Welcome to the world where Zeus, Thor and Allah are real. It's mental there.
@boosie007666 All I can say is, when the spirit of God lives inside you, its not just a feeling. Its everything, it's the only thing, it's ultimate truth. You won't know what I mean until you experience it. Only Jesus can show you that.
There's no point in me saying anymore, because you'll just look for ways to shoot it down. If you want to find God, then sincerely look for Him. If you don't, then don't. There is nothing else to say. We won't change each other's minds this way.
@ShanghaiHilltop And I'm sure all the other people with all of those other gods who feel exactly the same as you are all wrong and you're right. Since their ultimate truth isn't quite as ultimate as your ultimate truth.
@boosie007666 If you aren't saved, you won't know what we are talking about because you don't have the Holy Spirit. John:10 26-28 26But ye believe not (unsaved people), because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27My sheep(Christians) hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
I know what's Yahweh and what's not, I delight in the Ruach HaKodesh =) Peace.
@killerproctologist88 Awesome. Sounds like the Bible is a right laugh, full of things that you can only understand if you're already part of that religion. Sort of like saying 'you'll won't understand delusion until you're deluded'.
@boosie007666 No, because if you're delusional that implies that you are believing a lie to be reality because you've either misinterpreted (you) or you've been taken advantage of (other religions) which means you would think you would have an understanding but really the delusional aren't even aware they're being deluded. I've already lived the delusional life of sin, and now I am a much better, happier person. By the way, Christianity is not a religion.
@killerproctologist88 Christianity is a religion. If you don't accept that then I'm afraid you've slipped back into delusional, if you ever left it to begin with.
@boosie007666 Christianity is not a religion. A religion implies you must do something religious to achieve salvation. When a relationship with Yahweh was religious, it was before Yeshua died on the cross and when that happened it shifted from Judaism to Christianity, from a religion to a relationship. Isiah 64 says, "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."
@killerproctologist88 You clearly don't know the definition of religion. Even taking your incorrect definition, you still need to 'accept Christ as your lord and saviour' to achieve salvation, therefore making it a religion.
Here's the real definition:
'A specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects: the Christian religion; the Buddhist religion. '
@boosie007666 This means that the only way we achieve salvation is by His grace. We get His grace by having faith that Yeshua was Yahweh come in the flesh to die for our transgression. You do not have to to do 1 religious act to get spiritually circumcised, therefor Christianity is not a religion, it is a straight up relationship with the creator of the universe. Peace be with you always.
@killerproctologist88 It's a religious act to believe in a god to begin with. You need to blindly believe all of what the Bible claims about its god and his mortal form. To be christian you need to accept that Jesus was the son of god to be spiritually saved. I reject that Jesus was the son of god, I reject the existence of a god and I don't even think Jesus was the same person the Bible describes if he existed at all.
@boosie007666 Clearly, you are clueless to how religions function in contrast to Christianity . Religion ends up in 1 of 2 places, despair because you cannot possibly keep all commandments perfectly, or pride because you feel as though you are more "holy" than everyone else. Christianity avoids this paradox because it doesn't say you are saved by your good deeds, but by faith only. Which then begs the question, is there something one must do religiously to demonstrate that faith in this context?
@killerproctologist88 Clearly, you're clueless on what christianity even is. If you don't realise that your own religion is actually a religion, you're so deluded about reality you're not worth talking to. Enjoy the rest of your insane life.
@boosie007666 No my friend, you have just willfully hardened your heart from the truth. To give truth to he who loves it not is to give him multiplied reasons for misinterpretation. You won't admit Christianity is a relationship because then your whole view of what you think Christianity is crumbles. Clearly, your mind is closed to even the proposition of what it means to be a Christian. Peace be with you.
@killerproctologist88 I'd suggest you stop embarrasing yourself. You're sounding even more insane as each post goes on. You're actually saying you have a relationship with an imaginary person and that's what makes your religion not a religion (despite what the rest of the world defines it as).
@boosie007666 Oh you didn't know? See, my point exactly. You did not know Christianity IS a relationship! And there's a difference between praying/going to church/being a good person so that you go to heaven, and praying/going to church/being a good person because you want to strengthen your relationship with Yahweh, not to get saved. When it's under the premise of salvation, then those actions become religious =)
Just because Christianity or ANY religion causes people to use science to test it...that does not make the religion itself scientific in any way. Similarly just because people use science to try to figure out cancer or ANY sickness, that doesn't make the disease itself scientific in any way. The religion much like the disease has nothing to do with science.
@matreyia This video isn't about religion or science trying to prove religion or scientific religion. Its about God, and how he reveals himself to people, but not all people, because he doesn't have to, because he already knows He's real. The fact that science and history back up His existence is true but irrelevant. And if you don't believe that, you'll have to take your own journey to discern whether or not its false, as I once did.
@ShanghaiHilltop -"Its about God, and how he reveals himself to people, but not all people, because he doesn't have to, because he already knows He's real."
Your certainty in matters uncertain is very entertaining.
@matreyia This is something that is certain to me. What I meant was, I didn't receive a vision or dream from God or anything. I didn't need one to find Him, I just found Him. I'm certain He's real. There's nothing more to say. You don't have to believe or agree with me if you don't want to.
Certainty to you does not make it certainty in reality. Gravity is certain. Light, mass, laws of physics are certain - that is to say, they exist in reality EVEN IF you choose to deny it. That God is certain in your mind is fine, so long as you admit it is in your own mind. What do the things in your mind matter to me? Whatever u feel, think or believe is yours alone as it is with my own case.
@matreyia God is not certain to me just because I want Him to be. And you don't have to agree with me that He exists in order for Him to exist. He just does. I know it. Disagree with me, laugh at me if you want to, that is your right. Good luck in your search for truth.
@ShanghaiHilltop -"And you don't have to agree with me that He exists in order for Him to exist. He just does. I know it."
You know something that billions of people do not know. Congratulations, you are very special. Next, you will talk about knowledge of Heaven and Hell. Very special indeed.
"Good luck in your search for truth." ----There is no need to search, the Truth is right in front of all of us. Indeed, it is so obvious that many of us miss it though it is right under our noses.
If humanity is the end result of blind, indifferent, unconscious forces brought about by chance, with no stake in notions of truth or God, with no incentive whatsoever about anything, then how or why should we believe what they tell us? If you think that random chance allows us to question God, what happens when you question THAT? I think God is someone we have all seen, but none of us have seen.
Please visit my channel for the unpopular truth about homosexuality.
A person does not need hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important differences between heterosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption and homosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption. Even non-religious people know this.
Homosexual activists, with support from the media, have succeeded at framing themselves as noble victims; it's an effective way to push a social agenda.
Zacharias seems to be mentally retarded. It is these nice words and beautiful fairy tales that made ppl believe so blindly in god. if god exists? if he knows and controls everything ? why wud he kill so many innocent ppl every day ? these religious bastards want to gain fame and popularity and make money using d name of god and by saying some nicely carved stories. God is not hidden. God does not exist. The concept of god is just an illusion.
@realhomosapiens - The Abrahamic God's existence has no relevance to human existence. Nobody knows the mechanics of genesis. U either follow a book of tales or try to research methodically with data. Perhaps the data will show that there is a "god" which is responsible, but it is certain that "god" will not be the Abrahamic version. The Bible clearly shows this to be the case if u read it with objectivity and logical state of mind.
@matreyia Are you aware sir that for the majority of the existence of critical scientific thinking it has been championed by the religious, particularly Christianity? I am a historian at the University of Sydney, and the scientistic englightenment arrogance you are spewing is outrageous. It is unnecessary and unhistorical to create a false divison between science and Christian faith.
@Brightstar27 - You should get a refund for your tuition.
Genesis 2: 7, 8, 23
7And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground... 8And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
23And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman,...
Genesis 3:20 20And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
@matreyia "Perhaps the data will show that there is a "god" which is responsible, but it is certain that "god" will not be the Abrahamic version. The Bible clearly shows this to be the case if u read it with objectivity and logical state of mind."
> This is amazing. So what do you propse as an "objective" search into the meaning of Genesis? I suggest to you a historical-cultral and linguistic exegesis of the text in its own original context. If you understand those the text is easily sound.
@Brightstar27 - I have read the Torah in Hebrew no less than four times. You can suggest all you want about my supposed academic, intellectual shortcomings in regards to the Old Testament...it won't erase the absurdities of the writings. Your enemy is not myself...it is the writing itself. You just happened to believe in it and won't consider any other alternative because of your faith. - YES, sorry to say - FAITH...which has no place in logic and objectivity.
@matreyia Very well done you have read the Torah. That's certainly more than I have done with the books of Moses--I can't read Hebrew. But let's talk about the New Testament. You said, "FAITH... has no place in logic and objectivity."
Firslty, what is your understanding of the biblical definition of "faith" (pistis).
No offense but I'm still going to sleep in on Sunday morning.

Ravi's answer:: I know a person who is suffering, and he still believes in God. This proves that is true !!
In other words the proof for God is faith in God !!!

ServantofChrist007 2 weeks ago
@ServantofChrist007 i will probably look at your website if i have time. but i want to say, theres no difference between facts and biblical facts. either its true or it isnt. yes some stuff in the bible is true. yes some prophecies did come true. but also some isnt true. some are straight up wrong. some prophecies didnt come true. the bible contradicts itself on many occasions. if it truly is the word of god then he did a lousy job didnt he, or he chose the wrong people to spread his word.
GOOdGuyGreg1 2 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 You know you seem like a good guy greg LOL no but really If at anytime you want to go over some of the biblical prophecies that you think did not fulfill themselves or some of the "bible stuff" you feel is not true then I am completely willing to spend time dealing with those questions one at a time with the best answers i can.
ServantofChrist007 2 weeks ago
@ServantofChrist007 ok, lets start with a very simple one for you- the earth being flat. i dont want to hear that it is a metaphor because it is used too many times, some of which not in context. it can be applied when satan and jesus are talking and they are looking over the lands of earth-that can be a metaphor, but it cannot apply when it says the earth is a circle. or it is as if one casts a tent upon it. and i was originally christian so i do approach with an open mind.
GOOdGuyGreg1 2 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 Also i agree with you there is no middle ground; either the Bible is what God said it is or it isnt. Facts are facts, but if you dont give it an honest approach how can you ever know.

ServantofChrist007 2 weeks ago
@ServantofChrist007 if you gave me facts then i would understand them for what they are. i could list a lot of things that are wrong with the bible's teachings. a lot of things have been disproven. i am fine with having faith. what i do not like is when it obstructs progess and adds conflict to the world. when they argue evolution shouldnt be taught, that gays shouldnt have equal rights. when they say that noahs ark was true- all of this is harmful to humanity

really? atheists have higher moral values statistically? Why then is it that Russia has the highest murder rate in the world? A largely atheist society.
keepseekinghim 1 month ago
@keepseekinghim well why (take america for example) do atheists contribute a fare lower percentage (0.05%) of the prison population whereas christianity is much higher? why are countries like sweden which are atheist dominated countries as well have an incredibly low crime rate. do not pick and choose countries without looking at the average statistics. and that is atheism shows a far less crime rate per capita.
GOOdGuyGreg1 3 weeks ago
@keepseekinghim Wrong. Russia does not have the highest murder rate in the world. Nonsense. It's not even in the top 20. You have no leg to stand on in this. Religious people are undeniably less tolerant, more violent, more bigotted and just simply bad than those without belief. Please point to an example of a bomb being set off to encourage people to stop believing in some god. Please do that.

And I'd agree.
hairyreasoner 3 weeks ago
@hairyreasoner What answer? i did not attempt to answer any question. I simply made an observational statement to your comment. as to how i would respond to a quote from the koran and harry potter....none of those books have the historical backing that the Bible has and you know that. I would like to respond to a comment you posted concerning violence in the name of Atheism/non-belief read this book: "Tortured for Christ" you will see what kind of "Bomb" was set off. 1 name Stalin
ServantofChrist007 3 weeks ago
@ServantofChrist007 stalin was atheist yes, but people didnt die because of his atheist belief. they died because of famine due to his attempted rapid industrialisation. thats like blaming christianity for hitler as he was a roman catholic. what you can blame christianity for is mass genocide, rape, slavery, the crusades, witch hunts, the spanish inquisition and all other inquistions for that matter, the dark ages, the balkan ethnic conflict and prejudice against gays.
GOOdGuyGreg1 3 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 The "catholic church" is responsible for the crusades, witch hunts, inquisition etc. acting under the disguise of being Christian. If you check out some of the history Christians were actually slaughtered by the Roman Catholic church for not following the doctrines of the church which stood for biblical truth. check out my website as I have plenty of info on this very topic. Wix.com/servantsofchrist7/truth i believe you will b blown away by what you find.
ServantofChrist007 2 weeks ago
@ServantofChrist007 the catholic church was not responsible for the balkan ethnic conflict was it? majority christians are prejudice against homosexuals arent they? no all branches of christianity have done their share of evil
GOOdGuyGreg1 2 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 I have to say i have never heard of the balkan ethnic conflict but I will do some research. Either way you should never judge a system by its abuse but rather by its foundation and teachings. For example the bible says "do violence to no man" so if anyone is doing contrary to that it is not Christian whether they say they are or not. For example If i said i was an Atheist but I believe in God would I truly be an Atheist? of course not, even if i called myself one. ----continued
ServantofChrist007 2 weeks ago
@ServantofChrist007 yes i dont judge by extremeists but the reason there is conflict is because the bible is very contradictory. it says not to be violent yet god ordered 7 genocides, 5 of which were his doing personally. that is where people get confused about what is right and what is their belief. that is why (take the balkan ethnic conflict)- i know it was nationalism etc but orthodox serbians thought that they were pleasing their god because of their xenophobia. the bible is dangerous
GOOdGuyGreg1 2 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 I hear this retort alot when dealing with the judgement of God. For example, When people say that God ordered the destruction of different nations no one ever says why. Do you know that the the nations that were commanded to be eradicated were nations that comitted such abominations as sacrificing their children in fire, murder, etc. Also dont forget the Lord is no respector of persons he also allowed his own people to be punished for these acts.
ServantofChrist007 2 weeks ago
@ServantofChrist007 and ive heard that same reply so many times. think of it this way. if the entire city was a bunch of child sacrificers and murderes, then the population of that city would die out after a few generations. so therefore there were some innocent people. so god's solution to stop them from killing each other was to kill them all. thats like going up to a suicide cult and saying 'if you dont stop commiting suicide then ill kill you and that'll teach you.
GOOdGuyGreg1 2 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 You know better than that; if the violence is allowed to continue it will do nothing but spread look at our world today Thats why Jesus came to stop the evil and save us from this mindset that this world is prone too. "if you dont stop committing suicide?" and not just each other those practices would have surely spread and I think you know that.
ServantofChrist007 2 weeks ago
@ServantofChrist007 what are you on about? i want a straight up answer, yes or no (and this is what you think, not what your bible says). was that the BEST solution to stop people from sinning? do you think that it was morally just? lets use the egyptian first born case- was that the best solution? i dont want to know what the bible teaches/says, i want to know what you think. if you can think for yourself then you re just another mindless sheep that needs to be told what to do.

ServantofChrist007 2 weeks ago
@ServantofChrist007 and on that note of prejudice against homosexuality is where i am against christianity. simply because the bible says its wrong, you just go along with it because that is your belief. if the bible said it was ok, then you'd be fine with it. you discard rational thought simply because you do what you re told. there is not a single reason why homosexuality should be looked down upon. you just do not think for yourself. i ask you, why are YOU against homosexuality?
GOOdGuyGreg1 2 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 We could argue on what "WE" think is right all day long but it wouldnt go anywhere because its too subjective there are too many opinions. But we must be humble enough to Go to a higher power above us that sets the standard. For example you and I could argue whether a line is straight or crooked all day long but until we get a ruler we will never know. That ruler tells us what is straight no matter our opinion.
ServantofChrist007 2 weeks ago
@ServantofChrist007 thats just foolish. genocide is any regard is evil and when oyu start saying that 'it doesnt matter what we think' and that 'its what he deems right and right to be', that is dangerous thinking. that type of thinking is only harmful to the human race because that is basically saying, if god says its ok then it is. thats brainless. think for yourself. if you disagree with what is good then that proves that god is simply a tyrant and a dictator. because we have no say
GOOdGuyGreg1 2 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 I have a quick question because i actually like addressing these types of questions because they seem like they are coming from an honest place inside you and these are questions I believe anyone should ask. When you speak with a Christian like me what is your intent? I dont mean that in a negative way at all im just really curious.
ServantofChrist007 2 weeks ago
@ServantofChrist007 well its not as if i want you to wake up and suddenly differentiate fact from fiction. im not sure how old you are, im just a teenager. but i think there are three types of christians (scared, misguided or stupid). i do not think you are stupid, i think you re either scared or misguided. for the misguided you present with reason and logic (like im doing). for the scared you simply pity them, and for the stupid you just walk the fuck away.
GOOdGuyGreg1 2 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 Well im definetly not either of the three. its sad that you think along those terms. It shows me that either you have not studied the bible in context or you submit to what popular athiest say is true. To say someone is misguided you would have to in turn understand what they are misguided on and since we have not gotten into any real conversations about theology i dont know how you have come to your conclusions.
ServantofChrist007 2 weeks ago
@ServantofChrist007 im not just against christianity, im against religion in general. either 99% (assume one is correct) or 100% of all religions are false. and when you look at all the hornedous things that have occurred because of it. and you wonder why im against it? and of course, you think that your belief is special. you think that your book is right and all others are wrong. if a god did exist, why wouldnt he just stay out of our affairs? let life be by itself? no you have to assert.

@CJFCarlsson He didn't get to the "question behind the question". He dodged the question, i.e., "Why did God not seem to care about most of humanity for most of human history?" Instead of answering this embarrassing question, he just deflected it with some pathetic and amusing anecdotes. I suppose this is "admirable", if you admire evasiveness.
mjhden 1 month ago
@mjhden If you accept the direct answer then it is: God can repair anything to beyond new.
But that answer will not help you a lot if you are really looking for an alibi to commit sin, be denying the existence of God, will it?
CJFCarlsson 1 month ago
@mjhden You do not believe in God so you had better put the right question: How come atheists allow themselves so much evil?
CJFCarlsson 1 month ago
@CJFCarlsson I don't believe that Christians know anything of a God and I'm not evil. I despise wrong doing by anyone. I'm a pacifist actually. I don't even like political conflicts no matter what the reason or outcome. Your statement is extremely ill-informed, prejudiced and judgemental. Being judgemental is a practice that your own faith and God have a real problem with you partaking in. If you must be faithfully righteous, understand your responsibilities to your own God.
13eyeofthebeholder 1 month ago
@13eyeofthebeholder I was not even talking to you, was I? Atheists may have morals or they may not. They lack a moral foundation and they lack a belief in that that there will be a judgement. Note that how I see things is NOT the final verdict. And certainly not yours.
CJFCarlsson 1 month ago
@CJFCarlsson By making statements such as "How come atheists allow themselves so much evil" on a public, answerable forum. You actually were 'talking' to me and anyone else who'd like to read and reply.
Not everyone requires a fairytale to have a grounding in moral behaviour. Religion doesn't own the rights to being moralistic. Being moralistic is a choice that many including myself choose to accept through their own doing. Yr judgemental attitude spits on Matthew 7:1 and Luke 6:37

13eyeofthebeholder 1 month ago
@CJFCarlsson wrong in the bible that it could not be considered by an intelligent person as a credible source of information. So many completely wrong facts that all it's apparent 'factual' information is rendered null and void by default.
13eyeofthebeholder 1 month ago
@13eyeofthebeholder And do you believe that I was impressed by the way you read the bible? You have to read ANY text with a positive intention to understand, rather than to try and find errors. A lot of extremely intelligent people read the bible and understand it. Even you could if you read with the right intention, fool.
CJFCarlsson 1 month ago
@CJFCarlsson I was raised in what could be considered an extremely devout household. The bible was basically the only reading material I was allowed access to for a long period of time. As you can imagine. I thirsted for knowledge once I hit my late teens. Despite being on my own and being able to read what I liked at 17. I still studied various religions, coupled with scientific publications. As a child, the bible was indoctrinated within me as positive. Not my fault it's nonsense.
13eyeofthebeholder 1 month ago
@13eyeofthebeholder But it would be your fault if it was not and you made no sense of it. So if someone understands it and you make bleeting noises the question is settled.
CJFCarlsson 1 month ago
@CJFCarlsson Judging something as nonsense and not seeing the sense in something are two completely different things. A very Christaian argument your choosing to use against me. When you can't defeat, simply claim ignorance.
13eyeofthebeholder 1 month ago
@13eyeofthebeholder I have little interest in defeating you. I just stated that if you can make no sense of the bible and I can the argument is settled in my favour.
The same way if you have no argument for your faith. Then there is no argument. Logic is that way for a reason.
CJFCarlsson 1 month ago
@CJFCarlsson Faith doesn't need logic. Lucky for christians I suppose. This makes it hard to use logic in your reasoning.
13eyeofthebeholder 1 month ago
@13eyeofthebeholder I thought only wifes told other people what they were thinking. You should look up William Lane Craig or John Lennox and compare your scholarly achievements with theirs. They seem to have convinced a lot of others about having used logic.
I can understand you are thinking about this discussion in terms of being "defeated" or not. It is not. It is about life and death. Wether you want to live a life with a set of morals you made up yourself.
CJFCarlsson 1 month ago
@13eyeofthebeholder Why should anyone be comfortable with someone walking the same earth with him, believing himself to be just a blob of atoms without purpose of responsibilties? I bet you get asked this question a lot after you gave up becoming a christian.
CJFCarlsson 1 month ago
@CJFCarlsson have purpose. I'm a member of the most intelligent species in a whole solar system. My responsibilties are too educate and raise my children with morals and to value their own lives and what they make of it. Who needs more? I never get asked the question you posed. Obviously I'm not as weak of a human as you are. I'm comfortable with being me. I'm sorry that you don't have the same feeling. BTW, Your take on religous morality is skewed. Religion is responsible for more
13eyeofthebeholder 1 month ago
@13eyeofthebeholder That sounds oh so wonderful- didn't atheist regimes murder way more people than anyone else?
And wether you say you have a purpose is not very relevant. If you lie you believe you are answerable to noone. and if you like many atheist fry your children unborn then that is OK with you too, Isnt it? And if both alternatives are OK then there is no porpoise.
CJFCarlsson 1 month ago
@CJFCarlsson No, they didn't. People who didn't believe in a god may have killed people, but you know what every mass-murderer in history also had in common? None believed in Zeus. Shall we start listing all the things they didn't believe in as the cause? These were dictators who ran their countries like religions. They didn't kill in the name of "no god."
TurboFool 1 month ago
@TurboFool I bet someone is thankful for your try at defending Zeus for whatever reason. The worst massmurders were violently against christianity. Like the commies and nazis. Atheist. Everytime you give up the rock foundation of morality culture goes that way.
Christianity is the only religion that counts, really.
CJFCarlsson 1 month ago
@CJFCarlsson Except that's provably false. The safest, cleanest, healthiest countries in the world are the LEAST religious. Wouldn't work that way if what you were saying is true.
And most mass murders throughout history were carried out in the name of a religion. Those that weren't had nothing to do with trying to spread atheism. Nobody cares about spreading atheism enough to kill over it.
TurboFool 1 month ago
@TurboFool We were talking mass murders and not cleanlyness. The cleanest and healthiest countries were overwhelmingly christian and nothing else. Only Japan comes to mind as an exception. And the communists cared about spreading atheism enough to kill. Are you socialist?
CJFCarlsson 1 month ago
@CJFCarlsson And usually atheists just do not care about others and kill because of that. Not to proselytise, just to gain an advantage that they believe they can get away with. Like abortion. It is nice and hygienic. Unless you are a phoetus.
CJFCarlsson 1 month ago
@CJFCarlsson Where on EARTH do you get these lies? Atheists DO care about others, and they do NOT try to kill because they don't. Atheists are some of the most law-abiding, respectful, caring citizens on the planet. Do you bother to read and learn at ALL before you make up facts? Check the stats. Atheists continually outrank all other beliefs in crime, education, and other stats. Where does this garbage come from?
TurboFool 1 month ago
@TurboFool What do you think about abortion?
CJFCarlsson 1 month ago
@CJFCarlsson Why do you ask? You and I will clearly have different opinions on the moral ramifications, making it an irrelevant and ageless argument.
TurboFool 1 month ago
@TurboFool I thought so. You are sponging on our culture but not sharing our values. Doesn't cancer do better in the same way?
CJFCarlsson 1 month ago
@CJFCarlsson You're completely wrong. Look at ALL of the top-ranked countries now. They're secular in nature, and predominantly atheist and agnostic. Do you just make things up? And no, the communists did NOT care about spreading atheism, they cared about spreading COMMUNISM.
TurboFool 1 month ago
@TurboFool You may want to thank me for linving in our culture. It is basically christian. Communists happily execute and perscute christians.
They and other atheists have no moral accountability they believe and that is a problem.
CJFCarlsson 1 month ago
@CJFCarlsson Well, you'd make a valid point if almost any of it were true. If you bothered to actually learn statistics about crime rates, fidelity, marriage success, teen pregnancy, etc., you'd find atheists are doing far better. We base our morals (well, ethics) off of what's good for society, not an ancient book.
TurboFool 1 month ago
@TurboFool If we do not share the same values it is perfectly OK for you to say that atheists do better statistically. I would still have to check what you mean. And if you base your morals on what is good for society then you ARE socialist. That book is not not only ancient but burried by now.
CJFCarlsson 1 month ago
@CJFCarlsson Are crime, fidelity, marriage success, and teem pregnancy relative? They have nothing to do with our values. They're pretty easy to determine. And you need to look up the definition of socialism, my friend. I do not think that word means what you think it means...
TurboFool 2 weeks ago
@TurboFool I have seen it in practice and I have seen the ruins of the old soviet union. If the practice differs so much from the words then it is a lie.

@CJFCarlsson communism is not anti religious! it is not linked with atheism. just because atheists dont believe in an afterlife, doesnt mean we have no moral code. otherwise you would have elderly atheists going around killing people for fun. that is a stupid generalisation. we arent out to get you. i can name countless events where christianit has fucked over millions of people yet i dont generalise the entire christian populace as extremists and murderes. stop being retarded
GOOdGuyGreg1 3 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 I am to believe it was just for fun Marx called religon opium for the people and all communist regimes have persecuted christians. Communists have a moral where they can victimize whomever they please for the "good of the people" and ordinary atheist have no declared moral and believe that whatever they get away with will go unpunished. Either is crap.
CJFCarlsson 3 weeks ago
@CJFCarlsson communism is a political and economic stance, like capitalism. do you associate capitalism with religion? communism doesnt allow people to victimize whoever they please for the good of the people. stop lying. just because atheists believe there is no afterlife doesnt mean their actions will go unpunished. we think there is one life and why waste that life in prison. we also have a conscience which means i wouldnt do to others what i would want them to do to me
GOOdGuyGreg1 3 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 Communism is a grabbing of the individual freedom. Not an economical posture. It is the belief the individual is subordinate the governement. Capitalism gives me freedom to worship and to produce. Erich Honecker ended up with 50 cars where it was lucky to have one in eastern germany and Leonid Breshnew had a fair bit of gold when ordinary people had trouble finding enough to eat. Communism is particular who is persecuted.
CJFCarlsson 3 weeks ago
@CJFCarlsson what? "Communism is particular who is persecuted."? what does taht mean? what does the wealth of people have to do with religion? yes communism is linked to a lack of religion. how is it anit religious? how is atheism anti religious? and yes communism is an economic stance you twat
GOOdGuyGreg1 3 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 If you force someone to live according to what you believe is best for them and they lack food, clothes and basics of life because you are unable to understand what they need then that is a problem. Same think if you start forcing people to think thoughts you believe are good for them. There is where christianity and communism clash.
CJFCarlsson 3 weeks ago
@CJFCarlsson so the necessities for living and religion are intwined how? they didnt die because of their restirction of faith. they died because of famine. not the prohibition of religion. and not all communism restricts religion. communism relates to state owned property. it means that all industries are owned by the government and all proceeds go to the government to be evenly distributed. not all communism is anti religious. that is again an unfair generalization.
GOOdGuyGreg1 3 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 We are talking about communism, a mixed up ideology that lays claim to humans as slaves to the state. And if you believe communism is able to distribute wealth then you really should come up with a better explanation for China becoming vastly richer through liberalisation and Russia, unfree but freer, coming back from the ashes of the Soviet union.
CJFCarlsson 3 weeks ago
@CJFCarlsson the ideals of communism arent thats bad. the idea of equality and no heavy distinguishment between the rich and the poor. in some cases its better than capitalism like how somebody can earn more for doing less. or that someone can get a better job through people that they know. the reason why it doesnt work is because it limits productivity and provides no incentive to work any harder. communism is not an evil institution, its just not practical.
GOOdGuyGreg1 3 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 The idea that you can force results of labour or property from one person and give to another is evil and the condonation of force over right. Putting yourself in the place of God.

@CJFCarlsson im not defending communism. im just saying it has nothing to do with atheism, or religion for that matter
GOOdGuyGreg1 3 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 And do tell me what part of the bible has "fucked over millions of people". Or did you mean something else? Like "I do not like to be held responsible for my actions".
CJFCarlsson 3 weeks ago
@CJFCarlsson well i could draw mention to the slavery condoned in the bible. i could mention the incest that was forced through adam and eve and through noahs ark. i could argue the 7 genocides in the bible which also was followed by mass rape in some circmstances. i could even argue about what christians have done in the name of god, saying condoms are bad thus promoting aids in africa, mentioning the crusades, the spanish inquisition and the balkan ethnic conflicts, homosexuality etc.
GOOdGuyGreg1 3 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 You are inferring incest and do not know anything. And what do you have against voluntary slavery, which is what the bible talks about throughout the new testament? You really are stretching the letters and still will not get to the billions that atheist regimes have oppressed.
CJFCarlsson 3 weeks ago
@CJFCarlsson and when you make reference to the billions of people suppressed under atheist regimes, that is a fallacy. you re reffering to stalin and Mao as I presume, yes they were both atheists but atheism had nothing to do with their deaths of the people. atheism is a lack of belief in god. people died because they tried for rapid industrialisation and failed and went itno famine. thats like comparing christianity with hitler because hitler was a roman catholic. that is wrong!
GOOdGuyGreg1 3 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 Atheism is the belief that if you can get away with evil you are home free. Of course you have a conscience. Or maybe not. Anyway whatever you do from a position of power or unnoticed you can get away with. Which explains communism and most youtube atheists as well.
CJFCarlsson 3 weeks ago
@CJFCarlsson thats not atheism. im done with you. im over arguing. you re truly lost. by your logic, if im certain i can get away with a crime, ill do it if it gives any benefit to me whatsoever. thats a lie. why is atheism in america only 0.05% which is far lower than the christian percentage. why does sweden have an incredibly low crime rate per capita? when is is atheist dominated?
GOOdGuyGreg1 3 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 You might be a good person but then again perhaps not so good that you are able to answer for ALL communists and atheists? And the basic, basic faith of atheism is that there is no afterlife= so the conclusion is valid that if you can get away with something during your life time, you are home free.
As for Sweden. We don't have an incredibly low crime rate. We used to have that historically. These days we have tribal warfare in many places.
CJFCarlsson 3 weeks ago
@CJFCarlsson i never said i can answer for all of communists and atheists. all im saying it dont generalize! dont think that whether or not i believe in a supernatural deity or not, that doesnt affect one's character. and your tribal warfare is not due to atheism is it? and i cannot reiterate tis enough, a lack of incentive punishment for a crime does not mean there are no repucussions.
GOOdGuyGreg1 3 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 Of course you can not answer for them, whereas christianity actually is a lot better defined. All atheist atempts at running states find this out.
You are right about the swedish situation that there is a lot more to it than just the shift from absolute morals, economics and ethnic situations have also changed.
CJFCarlsson 3 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 I should mention that before we secularised we had a couple of murders per year. These days it is a couple of hundred and we lead the league for rapes. Not to mention youth suicide and abortions.
The answer is not only because we are now officially evil but in part Sweden today is a more evil place than when we were a christian nation.
CJFCarlsson 3 weeks ago
@CJFCarlsson all governments should remain secular. you cannot argue against that. and a secular government has absolutely nothing to do with atheism! the controversial topic of abortions is also a matter of opinion. i for one am for it as long as it is in the early stages. no i dont enjoy killing babies but i have my reasoning for it.
GOOdGuyGreg1 3 weeks ago
@GOOdGuyGreg1 And Hitler believed in aryan power, that right was subjugate to force. That is not roman catholic. He committed suicide which is a non-christian act. You do not commit suicide believing you will end up answering to God.

ShanghaiHilltop 3 months ago
@ShanghaiHilltop I can do that too.
Sound familiar?
boosie007666 3 months ago
@boosie007666 By repeating my words in a satirical way, you haven't proven that there is no truth in them. You seemed to be seeking God (you watched this video after all), so what I offered was helpful tips that you might find Him. You might not want to mock my advice before you even try it. If you aren't going to try it and aren't seeking God, then I guess we have nothing to discuss together. So, nevermind. No one's making you try it, or watch Ravi's videos.
ShanghaiHilltop 3 months ago
@ShanghaiHilltop It wasn't satire. It was merely pointing out that there is as much truth to your view in a god as there is to anyone's view of anything else that can't be proven. 'Opening up your heart and mind' is the same bullshit as 'you'll know when you're dead', effectively saying you must blindly believe.
Believe me when I say I'd love to find some evidence for a god. I'd be rich as all hell if I had it. Sadly, in reality where I live, we can't have evidence for the non-existent.
boosie007666 3 months ago
@boosie007666 God can be proven and has been to people all over the world. Its something they know in their hearts, even though that's not physical proof to show others. We don't need physical evidence. But we don't blindly believe. I don't. I never endorse blind faith.
Just because you haven't found proof that He exists doesn't mean He's not real. I'm not dead, and I know He's real, from experience. I can't prove Him to you. You have to find Him yourself, I was just trying to help you do that.
ShanghaiHilltop 3 months ago
@ShanghaiHilltop That's exactly the nonesensical stuff I'm talking about. Feeling something in your heart is not proof. It's mental to even say 'well I felt something, it must be god!' especially when there's thousands of gods to pick from.
So your god exists just as much as any other god does, since they all feel the same. Welcome to the world where Zeus, Thor and Allah are real. It's mental there.
boosie007666 3 months ago
@boosie007666 All I can say is, when the spirit of God lives inside you, its not just a feeling. Its everything, it's the only thing, it's ultimate truth. You won't know what I mean until you experience it. Only Jesus can show you that.
There's no point in me saying anymore, because you'll just look for ways to shoot it down. If you want to find God, then sincerely look for Him. If you don't, then don't. There is nothing else to say. We won't change each other's minds this way.
ShanghaiHilltop 3 months ago
@ShanghaiHilltop And I'm sure all the other people with all of those other gods who feel exactly the same as you are all wrong and you're right. Since their ultimate truth isn't quite as ultimate as your ultimate truth.

@killerproctologist88 Awesome. Sounds like the Bible is a right laugh, full of things that you can only understand if you're already part of that religion. Sort of like saying 'you'll won't understand delusion until you're deluded'.
boosie007666 1 month ago
@boosie007666 No, because if you're delusional that implies that you are believing a lie to be reality because you've either misinterpreted (you) or you've been taken advantage of (other religions) which means you would think you would have an understanding but really the delusional aren't even aware they're being deluded. I've already lived the delusional life of sin, and now I am a much better, happier person. By the way, Christianity is not a religion.
killerproctologist88 1 month ago
@killerproctologist88 Christianity is a religion. If you don't accept that then I'm afraid you've slipped back into delusional, if you ever left it to begin with.
boosie007666 1 month ago
@boosie007666 Christianity is not a religion. A religion implies you must do something religious to achieve salvation. When a relationship with Yahweh was religious, it was before Yeshua died on the cross and when that happened it shifted from Judaism to Christianity, from a religion to a relationship. Isiah 64 says, "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."
killerproctologist88 1 month ago
@killerproctologist88 You clearly don't know the definition of religion. Even taking your incorrect definition, you still need to 'accept Christ as your lord and saviour' to achieve salvation, therefore making it a religion.
Here's the real definition:
'A specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects: the Christian religion; the Buddhist religion. '
boosie007666 1 month ago
@boosie007666 This means that the only way we achieve salvation is by His grace. We get His grace by having faith that Yeshua was Yahweh come in the flesh to die for our transgression. You do not have to to do 1 religious act to get spiritually circumcised, therefor Christianity is not a religion, it is a straight up relationship with the creator of the universe. Peace be with you always.
killerproctologist88 1 month ago
@killerproctologist88 It's a religious act to believe in a god to begin with. You need to blindly believe all of what the Bible claims about its god and his mortal form. To be christian you need to accept that Jesus was the son of god to be spiritually saved. I reject that Jesus was the son of god, I reject the existence of a god and I don't even think Jesus was the same person the Bible describes if he existed at all.
boosie007666 1 month ago
@boosie007666 Clearly, you are clueless to how religions function in contrast to Christianity . Religion ends up in 1 of 2 places, despair because you cannot possibly keep all commandments perfectly, or pride because you feel as though you are more "holy" than everyone else. Christianity avoids this paradox because it doesn't say you are saved by your good deeds, but by faith only. Which then begs the question, is there something one must do religiously to demonstrate that faith in this context?
killerproctologist88 1 month ago
@killerproctologist88 Clearly, you're clueless on what christianity even is. If you don't realise that your own religion is actually a religion, you're so deluded about reality you're not worth talking to. Enjoy the rest of your insane life.
boosie007666 1 month ago
@boosie007666 No my friend, you have just willfully hardened your heart from the truth. To give truth to he who loves it not is to give him multiplied reasons for misinterpretation. You won't admit Christianity is a relationship because then your whole view of what you think Christianity is crumbles. Clearly, your mind is closed to even the proposition of what it means to be a Christian. Peace be with you.
killerproctologist88 1 month ago
@killerproctologist88 I'd suggest you stop embarrasing yourself. You're sounding even more insane as each post goes on. You're actually saying you have a relationship with an imaginary person and that's what makes your religion not a religion (despite what the rest of the world defines it as).
boosie007666 1 month ago
@boosie007666 Oh you didn't know? See, my point exactly. You did not know Christianity IS a relationship! And there's a difference between praying/going to church/being a good person so that you go to heaven, and praying/going to church/being a good person because you want to strengthen your relationship with Yahweh, not to get saved. When it's under the premise of salvation, then those actions become religious =)
killerproctologist88 1 month ago
@boosie007666 Since the answer to that question is no, Christianity is not a religion.
killerproctologist88 1 month ago
Just because Christianity or ANY religion causes people to use science to test it...that does not make the religion itself scientific in any way. Similarly just because people use science to try to figure out cancer or ANY sickness, that doesn't make the disease itself scientific in any way. The religion much like the disease has nothing to do with science.
matreyia 4 months ago
@matreyia This video isn't about religion or science trying to prove religion or scientific religion. Its about God, and how he reveals himself to people, but not all people, because he doesn't have to, because he already knows He's real. The fact that science and history back up His existence is true but irrelevant. And if you don't believe that, you'll have to take your own journey to discern whether or not its false, as I once did.

ShanghaiHilltop 3 months ago
