i try playing these maps but everytime i create my server to play it laggy. specifically lag when i jump or fall. making it very hard to rockter jump, does anyone know a solution? THANKS
From 0:36 to 0:41, how did you do that with face foward? what keys pressed and when to fire rockets during the period?
I know it looks easy for you, but I always push myself away the wall when I fire 2nd rocket. I've been practiced lots of time on this only failed again and again.
I think the key to that is probably to note the angle that i shoot against the wall. No matter what, the rocket it going to want to push you away from the wall a little bit, so the important thing is to minimize that effect so that you can airturn back to the right so that you are hugging the wall again for the next rocket.
The rule for firing rockets in a jump like that seems to be "as fast as possible". Any pauses and gravity starts to win the fight, and there really is no recovery from that
One question: is TFC concing harder than TF2 jumping? Everyone I've talked to who conced in TFC said that TF2 jumping is harder and vise-versa. Also, great job!
I realized I could say so much on the subject, but I'll just say this: TFC concing has had a lot more time to be explored and experimented with than TF2. I happen to know some people are going to be working on this, though :)
There's a sort of complexity behind concing that is probably a little harder to get used to, when starting out. The two are just so different that its hard to compare, though.
yea, i did a bit of everything with TFC, but mostly concing. I remember playing a lot of good quad-rocket maps though. "Floaty" is definitely a good way to describe it
It's not particularly fair to compare them given TFC's lack of physics. A lot of concing had to do with airstrafing, which isn't as easy to pull off in TF2. It's different than rjumping or sticky jumping, not better or harder.
It was actually something I was working on before I took a break from TF2 - I was basically just deciding how I would do the jumps if I were to do a speedrun.
Then I just got back into TF2 and decided to finish what I started :) I had to practice just a little at a time (in 15-20 minute bursts before I got sick of it) but I finally got a run I was happy with last night.

I do quad rocket from TFC. I love rocket jumping in TFC so much. It's a lot like soldier jumping in TF2, but more floaty. Do you ever do quad rocket?

I found rjumping more fun in TF2, though.
