@gvibes69 your joking right?one of the greatest turbo car ever is the buick Gran national or T type,a V6 turbo with over 225 hp stock and over 300 lbs of torque, it is one of the fastest factory cars ever made. So for your info many muscle car makers at the time started to Develop Small block and big block turbos but weren't approved by GM or the other leaders because of the massive amount of horse power and boost. Search up OLDSMOBILE engineers .they mastered the Twin turbo before you were born

1st, I know that Pontiac is no more. But like Gibson also stoped to produce the fab Les Paul guitars. But the guitar fans wanted it back. And so Gibson did. I don't know, but I am sure of that if GM start to relaunch a Pontiac GTO (only that model diff. engines) then it will be a success. It's important that the basic model will not be so expensive (I buy that one). It's the same with the Chevelle of those years. The design is awesome! We just wait and see. GM has a new CEO from September 2010.

The CHEVELLE SS 454 and the BUICK GSX STAGE 1 was GM's crowning achievment .......yet some people dub the name THE HEMI KILLER..to the BUICK GSX and not the CHEVELE......and the fastest of the two was given yet again to the GSX...any ways in my opinion the CHEVELLE SS 454 LS6 WAS THE FASTEST and most people would agree the best CAR EVER BUILT by any auto motive company in the world...the CHEVELLE WILL LIVE ON FOREVER AS THE ONLY TRUE MUSCLE CAR.....

@gmo8492 The Chevelle, it was one of the fastest and one of the most beautiful, that's for sure. But there were some other kids on the block. Have you heared of names like Pontiac GTO, Mustang, Camaro, Charger and a few more...hey,take it easy. They are all American Icons. Awesome cars! Wrooom!

@petereuropa i agree with you that there are more iconic muscle cars the ones you metioned are some of my favriots for sure...but in take more pride in the chevelle because i own one and i would say it is one of the forgotten muscle cars that are less apreciated to the most popular ones...because back then the chevelle was very affordable and with top notch performace nothing else came close....like one person said why did they stop making the chevelle 454 ls6..you cant improve on perfection.

i actually own a 1970 chevelle ss 396. i inherited it from my grendmother. i've been spending every single dime i make to get it running again. i'm only 17 years old and this car is my baby. i dont see myself having a better car in my entire life. i love seeing videos about this car. it just makes me love my baby even more than i already do.

my first car is a 1970 chevelle i am 16 i saved up for 2 years ruining my summers flipping burgers to save for it this is my first summer with the car something tells me its gonna b a good summer restoring it. as of now the car runs and is my daily driver but I am going to fully restore it once i save enough for parts

The baddest car in the muscle car era was the 70 chevelle. I parshally own my fathers '69. But in Lebanon Valley i saw a real bad car. 1970 Chevelle SS 815 super charged that car was bad to the bone but bad paint job.

yes! i own an original 1970 chevelle ss454 (was a TEXAS car) with the original numbers matching LS5 under the hood. little bolt on modifications on the motor but the m21 tranny,diff, suspension is pretty much stock (apart the polyurethane bushings)!

and i own a 1989 chevy iroc-z camaro with a 472 small block with a tremec t-56 6 speed. that one is a real sleeper :)

but owning and driving a chevelle is on of a kind:) even if my camaro has more hp even if it handles better than the chevelle but it cant give the feeling of a real MUSCLE CAR like my chevelle:)

Thanks for posting this video. American Muscle Car is a great program on Speed. This is only of my favorite Chevys of the muscle car era. I always wanted a Cranberry Red, 454 SS, "4 on the floor", 3.73 rear end Chevelle, but of course you know how crazy expensive it is to buy one, especially one with the LS-6 engine. Never the less I enjoy seeing these cars at car shows and love taking pictures of them. Long live the "American" Muscle Car ERA!!
