Writen by the child prodigy and all round genius Arnold Strahls! He was just a kid at the time and could be credited with inventing grunge! Check out the guitar sound! Best loved as the lead singer and writer with legendary band "SPEEDBOAT". Has anyone got any footage of their crazy antics? Check out whatever you can find of theirs. Well worth the effort.
Ms Perogi: I quite liked both styles. I loved the solemnity of thye Latin Mass and I enjoyed the youthful exuberance of the Rock Mass at which this amazing Lady sang...1977 if I recall. Seems a long time ago now..and yet seems like only yesterday.
A whole lot of us would go to the "Rock Mass" at the Cathedral and on to Victoria's afterwoods. That was a lot of years ago...and I miss a lot of very beautifil people. Many thanks and a trip down the Aisle of Time.
I can tell you she aint dead, she works at my school and helped me with my school work in year 9. She is an awesome woman, but this is a tad embarassing...
Sister Janet Mead did NOT kill herself. You are confusing her with the other "singing nun" Jeanine Deckers from the 60's who recorded the song dominque
I remember this song from when I was a young school girl. At my 6 year old son's prayer/sharing morning at school this morning the teacher played this song and said it was one of the kids favourites. They were all singing along, it was beautiful.
Sister Mead's work is the best ! No one has come close to presenting a Modern Mass. The World Changes. Standing at attention, knealing , and sitting on command during an Old Latin Mass with Gregorian chants was extremely outdated. Not to mention in the Middle Ages people did not have Modern instruments like Electric Guitars, Electric Organs, etc etc.
The German philosopher Oswald Spengler wrote in his 2 volume work,"any civilisation that denies or disregards the religious aspects of its culture eventually wither and dies."This may explain some of the ills in our own society.
No after posting that I thought that's not me, I went to the school in '74 which I think was after this video. So the girl I see near Sr. Janet with the long brown plaits & purple bows is Linda. Thanks for posting this clip though :)
Rock on, God!

Bet she's a repressed lesbian. Turned out Jeanine Deckers ("The Singing Nun") was.
