Animation and modeling was all done in 3ds Max (3d Studio Max). A mix of biped and bones were used for animations. I hope that answers your question.

Awesome! What did you use Combustion for? Isn't it for putting 3d objects into a live action scene?

Combustion is also used for compositing which could be used for putting live action elements into a scene and vice versa. But Combustion is also a video editing tool similar but more powerful than After Effects. I used it for editing, color correction, and some special effects. :) Hope that answers your question.

well i've found a page on ign witch said Desoto wanted too do a tf movie that had the same wonder as a 1980s movie he also said he was watching every episode and reading every tf comic seems like a good guy who wanted to tell the tfs story..but i think he was fired by bay -man all the things i read in 2003 sounded so good were did it go wrong? i know when Spielberg and bay came to the project -sob- this movie was going too be a G1 live-action movie now it everything but Transformers!

Oh no problem.... I love G1 as much as the next fan, but there were just certain parts of the dialogue that could stand to be a little polished for a slightly more adult/mature feel since the biggest fans of Transformers as all grown now. The upgrade in animation wouldn't hurt either and I think this would be a great way to go about doing it...not the new animated version that is supposed to be coming out early next year.

During editing, a lighter version was made, but it varied on different monitors. Compression also was a factor in the image. There is an extended version of this little short as well with updated models (just not uploaded yet). The next CG short will take place in a brighter locale ;)
