I had glue ear at a young age... It was the buildup of earwax on my eardrum so it can't vibrate properly. A teacher had to be right next to me and to yell at me for me to even hear her/him. I had to get one of those tubes in my ear... I still have the scar on my eardrum.

When I was a really I must have had ear tubes put in every other month, and I think it did more harm than good. Really scarred me emotionally. :( Scarred me physically too, when they had to slit the back of my ear open to drain a really bad infection I developed in my teens. The doctor said for that some reason my ear canals were not developing normally into an adult's. I don't know if they're even developed now. :(

Thank you so much for this video.Some stupid doctor(who get big money from our taxes) said that my pressure in the ear is from changing season and I have to live with that, and some day it schould go away. Anyway, now I'm going to do irrigations and if that not help - find better doctor.

PS :

the older I am then more often I need the doctor, the more often I need the doctor then more I think I would prefer private healtcare so they will not treat patients like in wholesale market.

I had this once, but lcuky for me i had no pain or anything, only loss of hearing for about 1 week then i was back to normal, i have absolutly no treatment and for some reason it went away

I'd put money on it that my situation is exactly what this video described, I mean who the hell has an "external" ear infection that gets worse with ear drops and doesn't heal from antibiotics within a couple of days? Mine has lasted over a month and is excruciating!! 3 different drops and they all make it worse. Also have loud ringing and significant hearing loss. Unreal!!

careful with the ent industry. Especially if the ents operate on your turbinates. Also to those parents out there whos kid have attention deficit disorder and they noticed the change after the turbinate operation. It wasnt a coincidence. The ents will not admit what they have done though.

yeah but it hurt like hell to take it out. The tubes are 2mm long right...then the freaking bloody wax that came out years later was like an inch long! Ahhh it hurt :( and i remember that from when i was like 3

no you dont have anything, you feel pain because of the pressure change which is quite common..the best thing would to keep moving you as if you're chewing something to allow the flow of air into the eustachian tube

Plug your nose and LIGHTLY blow out with your mouth closed ... called "Equalization" in diving. Some people have small Eustachian tubes making it very hard to equalize. The other tricks are to chew gum and or do a decongestant a few hour before any anticipated pressure change. If you go do a PADI Open Water Diving course they will teach you how to do the equalization properly. But be careful not to over do it as you can cause inflammation or damage. Hope that helps =)

if your ear is filled with water, take something with a decongestant. Like a nasal spray or allergy meds. Your sinuses are all linked together and it should help clear the congestion in your ears

This is what exactly happened to me. They give some sleeping gas, then when you wake up you feel sick, or thirsty. After a few years the tubes just fall out and you don't even know they did. I'm eleven now and i got tubes when i was six.. back to normal now

I've had a muffling of hearing recently. I think I might have fluid in my ear.. But there's no pain. I've been to the doctor twice and he says my ears are fine, he says the hearing loss is allergies.. I've been taking medication for allergies and hearing hasn't improved.. What do I do?

I'm having SLIGHT muffling in my right ear. I'm really starting to worry. I have occasional pain (mild) that started up over 2 months ago, and my doctor has prescribed Zyrtec because he thought it was probably fluid build-up cause by my allergies. It help a little, but not much. :-( He told me that if it didn't clear up in 7 days, then to go to an ear/nose/throat doctor.

Perhaps you have Swimmer's Ear? I have that and always have to plug up my ears when I go swim. I am very prone to infections when fluid gets in my ears so I have to be careful.

Since you posted this about three weeks ago, I would assume that it has been taken care of.

You should try Mack's silicone ear plugs. I have been using those since I was little and IMHO are the best seal for the ears. Of course you have to follow the instructions and you have to clean your ears before putting them on. You also don't put it in your ear canal, rather you cover your ears. If used properly it can keep water out of your ears.

probably outer ear infection, better not let it just run its course as it could turn into a mastoiditis (not too common, but why take a risk?). Treatment is easy, complications are a bitch though, go to your doc.

I am 50% deaf in my right ear, always suffered with ear infections growing up, had operations had grommits in the ear. When i hit my late teens, the ear infections seemed to stop showing up but last year i had a really bad infection, my ear was swollen inside & it was white rubber stuff in my ear, i tried many anti-biotics & steroid drops but its not shifting, i have had the ear infection now for a year, the smell is like sewer drainage.

Any help would be great.

After going to a loud nightclub some months ago, I nearly went deaf and had ringing for about about 4 months... I can hear very well now with no ringing, but sometimes my eardrum (I guess) begins to beat like a heart (only momentarily) and then it stops. It does this I guess every hour. Does this mean that there is something inside (liquid) or does it mean that it's just healing? Also about two after the insident it sounded like if I had water inside but nothing would come out.
