What a shitty interview. The scene in Requiem for a Dream was where Jennifer Connelly is doing double penetration is not sexual at all. It's meant to be degrading and disturbing.
@mutterdutterdud Hello. Black Swan wasn't incoherent. It just wasn't linear. I personally love Aronofsky's movies. They are so disturbing at times, and every viewing can reveal something new. Requiem for a Dream was so dark and scary like Scorsese's Taxi Driver with De Niro. These types of films add to the variety instead of adding more of the same. I love that kind of art that makes me feel sort of sick. It balances out the glossiness of all things pretty and nice.
@mutterdutterdud We've seen a a movie about drug addiction many times, it's a tired theme. I was surprised about Marlon Wayans, he was a great surprise(I've always liked Leto and Connelly) I can't say I have a true number one, I do love movies, The first 2 God-fathers, Raging Bull, The Usual Suspects, All the presidents men, Mystic river, Once upon a time in America, The pope of greenwhich village, Dead man walking. As far as Aronofsky, I've never seen Pi or the fountain, loved the Wrestler
@trulysarcastic I just read your comment and saw that you were speaking about movies, then i read your favourite movies and i laughed at you because obviously you don't know anything about movies
@mutterdutterdud Black Swan was about a dancer having a mental breakdown. The point was to show a window into a life. The mother's insanity infected her. The plot was there, it just wasn't laid out in an obvious way from the beginning. I think this style of film puts the viewer into the position of voyeur, like you shouldn't be watching, but you can't look away.
The Fountain is a movie you either love or hate. I am one of the many people that happens to love it, but I can totally see why someone might not. But that Robin woman was just being a real bitch about it.
I know Howard loves and has loyalty to Robin from the early days, etc., and I swear this is nothing personal but I have always felt Robin was the biggest waste of space in the history of radio broadcasting. I simply do not get it.
I hope Robin didn't realize how much time and effort goes into making a movie, or even what Darren's role was in it. To say to his face that's a "bad movie" is actually very insulting
i loved the fountain, hated requiem for a dream. pretty actors just junkying it up, BLLAAAHH. only good part was the double ended didlo scene, very sexy.
Pi was the big movie when I went to sundance one year. I saw the premiere and liked it because it was audacious and original, but it was not a really well done movie.
The Wrestler was a good movie, but not a great movie. Mickey Rourke was the whole movie, he carried it completely. With anyone else it would have been just okay.
@elanarab I'm surprised so many people think that! They think all it had going for it was Mickey Rourke's performance and otherwise it was just a decent movie, but I thought the actual movie was as good as Rourke's performance! Darren Aronofsky is a genius director
For me 'The Fountain' is the masterwork of Aronofsky and one of the best films ever made. Second comes 'The Wrestler' and third 'Requiem for a Dream'. Anyway, I think Aronofsky is one of the most talented directors working today. The man is really one of a kind. He's unique.

can you fucking explain how the fountain is a fantastic movie?
because i thought it was the sorriest piece of shit ever, like all his other movies, please enlighten me. I think this guy is the biggest con artist in film.
The cinematography is absolutely stunning. The story is fantastic. Well...it's one of those movies which you either get or not get. There's no controvery though that the cinematography is sensational.
Howard made a good point. Marisa Tomei's body was unbelievable in this movie. She looks damn good for a 44 year old woman.
Nick Cage is a great actor, but he wouldn't have been right for this part. He's too thin and doesn't have a wrestler's build. He was great in Leaving Las Vegas and Vampire's Kiss.
true.robin is doing nothinnnnnnnnnnng.she gets paid i dont know how much money and she s not even funny. all she does is interrupt funny interviews with her stupid questions
To the person below. The name of the song is Metal Health by Quiet Riot and the line is "Bang Your Head" Showing my age here.
Anyway can anyone imagine what an incredible turd this movie would have been with Nicholas Cage as The Ram? I don't even want to think about that. As it stands this movie will go down as one of my all time favorites.
my favorite part on the wrestler is the beginning, ...that "Raise Your Head!" song with that montage of back when that guy was Hot Shit.....showing him with the title and stuff...
after i heard about the movie wrestler from howard stern. i went check it out. it was a great film. i hate it in the begining but it kept me there waiting for the story to unfold. cuz it was a great movie...slum dogg mill was over rated. Marisa Tomei should won for the best supporting artress for her role as a stripper!!!! she got robbed

A "Harvard Guy", this public school kid in Brooklyn makes good. So self effacing. Just a wonderful story of a true outsider making do. Nothing clanish about his associations. Just a mystery how a humble Jewish kid from Brooklyn who went to Harvard Guy makes do. Scott Franklin his producer, let me guess, another Jewish kid climbing the ranks by his grit and determination? Man, how do they do it. How do these outsider desperados claw their way through the anti semitism and closed doors to make it?
Wow, ANOTHER Jewish filmmaker, who "breaks into" the industry. So lucky. So off the wall. A Jewish guy who gets into film school, who convinces a Jewish network of friends to put their money in a hat, and then a little marketing. It is a true miracle.
Robin is a no talent bitch. She is known for talking crap about guests while they are being interviewed.
Puffy was there and she talked about his clothes looking horrible. Even if they do, that's not the point. The point is that she has zero talent and feels the need to talk shit about people who actually achieve something.

What did she say in the T.I. interview? I decided not to listen to the whole thing because it was just a typical rapper who had rough teenager years and everybody has to kiss his ass for that.
She was throwing every stereotype about hip-hop stars in his face, like about how they commit felonies to gain street-cred while T.I. was trying to make serious and sincere remarks about his forthcoming jail-time and some of the foolish things he's done and how he wants to be a more responsible person when he comes out. He even called her out each time and she deserved every second of it. She came off like an out-of-touch, middle-aged borderline racist white dude. Embarrasing to say the least.
Don't get me wrong, I don't like the lowest common-denominator club anthems that hip-hop has turned into these days, but I've liked T.I.'s music in the past and he came across as a decent (hell, even boringly average) guy. He didn't have an attitude where he was asking for it and so the treatment Robin gave him was just unprofessional.
