Petroleum jelly can't dissolve plastic, first google it second lots of it come in plastic containers like Vaseline. And my Vaseline isn't leaking all over the floor because it dissolved it's plastic case. Retards.

RULE NO.1 ALL OF THE REAL CUBERS SHOULD KNOW.......... - never use any kind of petroleum i.e. vasiline because it damages the core inside the cube after a given time. - never use grease, or put it in the core or the center cubes.

Sandpaper it and then ->

Use 100% Silicon spray that can be found in any hardware store.

Apply and leave for a given 10 minutes on each side.

Expectations:

 - it will be rough at first. - it will work like magic after 30 minutes of playing. - smooth as silk.
