  • One thing you have to admit about these sessions... Stevie absolutely tears off on keys... I could've sworn that was Herbie Hancock compin' at times. Baaaaaddddd... in a good way. Talk about bringin' the funk.

  • Stevie's killin it on Lucille...

  • @MrCavone Yes, exactly.

  • I like about 10 seconds in. After you hear Paul "aaaayyy" John goes "what is it... the beatles again?" lol

  • I'm a 17 year old life long beatles fanatic and I love this bootleg so much! Though it sounds like me and my friend's demo recordings hahaha

  • GOD!I THOUGHT I knew everything about BEATLE'S...ive never heard this!!

  • hahahahaha 7:26 oh john.. xD

  • hahahahahha 7:26 john lennon's humor hahaha

  • nice keyboard solo at 1:54

  • i would love visuals on this

  • you know some observers say May Pang would have the better partner for John Lennon if Yoko officially split up I believes shes the one who encourage John to make reestablish contact with his firstborn son Julien but every body has his opinion.

  • OK....This is interesting to listen to, and potentially of huge historical significance, but I don't hear Paul on vocals at all. Don't you all think that John and Paul, regardless of what instruments they were playing, would take the time to sing together and harmonize? Surely Paul would have a mic. I'm sorry, but I'm just not buying that Paul was on this jam.

  • @pup461watch part 3. 3:26 Proof that Paul was there.

  • @pup461 but that's paul's voice harmonizing, listen.

  • @ghonzalo that is him. who could stop him from singing with john . where is john?

  • @ghonzalo indeed it is

  • @pup461 You don't hear Paul's voice? He's doing the harmonies with John on Lucille.

  • @pup461 I suggest you get headphones and listen again. Pauls vocal is panned to the right. and fades in and out.. but its there enough to definately notice. Sounded like he was just mumbling... probably not 100% sure on the vocals..

  • stevies a fucking maniac on them keys

  • Paul is playing Ringo's drums...

  • Only Stevie drops honey with his electric piano during this cat singings.

He seems to geeniously in its session.

  • this is very interesting. what i would do for visuals along with the audio!!

  • The first song on this video kind of reminds me of "The Town" by Harry Nilsson, which (of course) is in this jam.

  • wow this is sure a legendary document!sounds like there must a been an awesome party goin on!

  • That's Stevie joining in on Background vocals.

  • stevie wonder and the beatles, best of both

  • another place to here paul on drums is on honey dont live at the bbc version

  • "Give me an "E" or give me a "snort",Classic.

  • Is this available on CD on any web page?

  • What the hell is wrong with that bass guitarist. Is he tone deaf?

  • Whose funky guitar work is that at the 3:30 mark?

  • Was Paul even playing here?

  • on drums

  • more shambolic than like flies on sherbert. stevie as billy preston, holding it together. love it. john: "c'mon, let's do something."

  • hey man , stevie really holds this thing together with his rhodes, awesome as ever ... lennon with a great voice, paul as right as ever ... man , i wish i´ve been there ... i love stevie and john and paul ...

  • Drums that is.

  • Paul played on martha my dear, Wild honey pie and why don't we do it in the road also.

  • and on the ballad of john and yoko too

  • john sounds fuckin shite and shot here paul on form as per usual macca would hav been huge with or without the lads thats just fact john needed paul to kick him up the arse

  • Give him a break man, Lennon was stoned just like everyone else there. Paul and John need each other. Thats just a fact. Go back and do some research. Lennon was the wordsmith and Paul was the muscial force behind the beatles !!! All in all, they are still the greatest band ever !!!

    Paul

  • maybe you both should do research. paul is not on form "as usual". he is playing an instrument that he ususally does not play. hes a bass player nopt a drummer.

also bassboy. paul and john rarely wrote songs together. they were usually two seperate pieces. the only times they collaborated was when one had a general idea for a song and couldn't get past that.

  • By rerading your comment, I think you either missunderstood me or you have the wrong person ! I agree Paul is not in great form and yes they rarely wrote complete songs together....Trust me my friend I'm a beatles fan for over 38 years and I've have done my research...

    With kind regards,

    Paul

  • could you tell me when this was recorded please

  • ok there we go i just seen the back of the album.cool

  • Paul became a pretty good drummer before this though. He plays the drums on Band on the Run and that's awesome

  • He also played the drums on john lennon's song "the ballad of john and yoko" Actually he played all of the instruments except lead guitar which was played by john lennon. It was just the two of them who recorded that song. Paul is an amazing musician. And off subject I never new about this record I love it so cool I never knew that paul and lennon ever played again after the breakup. And stevie wonder are you kidding me this is amazing

  • @3isallwesee John did the acoustic guitar as well.

  • Wow man John is wailing on this for being all coked out! I didn't know he still had this range this late in his career. Maybe it's cuz he was away from Yoko?! Weird thought...but I swear I've never heard him sing like this, with this much gusto and confidence(like the old Beatles-Lennon) on any other recording from his solo period

  • This may be pretty rough but man I love hearing them sing together again, even for just a few minutes

  • that's Nilsson doing the vocal ripping.

  • Yr saying Nilsson is singing on Lucille? I think most of us can agree that's obviously Lennon screaming "Lucille!" I can pick that voice out a million, I've been smiling to it my whole 29 years.

  • my mistake. it's most certainly Lil' Stevie...

  • pauls got a hella of a lot of delay on his drums

  • Mostly a snore but glad I heard it. Thanks

  • Great post man, now if you can find "Carnival of Light' (the rarest beatle track of all time) I'll eat my keyboard. lol

  • paul was on drums, so im not sure how magical it could have been...

  • Well, if it was good enough for "Back in the USSR" and "Dear Prudence"....

  • It was only good enough b/c it was necessary. Ringo had left the group then, and they had no one else. Paul's drumming was adequate.

  • Paul is actually a really good drummer and played on several Beatles tracks in their latter years...check it out and you'll see

  • He only played on two, Back in the USSR and Dear Prudence. And he played on those b/c he had to. Ringo wasn't there.

  • Actually Paul also played on The Ballad of John and Yoko as well.

  • You're right. Ringo off filming The Magic Christian.

  • I have this cd.. and was in disbelief about what I'd got when i first heard it... this "lucille" section is the only recording of lennon and mccartney jamming after the beatles broke-up!! make of it what you will

  • Where did you get this on CD?

  • I bought it in Hong Kong in 1997 - at that time record stores there had loads of otherwise unavailable stuff - due to something called `parallel imports` before Chinese rule. The front cover is- as above.

  • Id love to have been a fly one the wall in that studio. I just wish john had taken it more seriously, think how magical this could have been.
