Gosh! I remember this, when I used to live in Hull. I grew up there in fact. If I remember correctly , after they demolished the house, they built a completely new house on the site in the style of the houses round there. It was full of flats tho like all the old Edwardian houses round the Avenues district of Hull. I used to live in one of them with my Family infact. Ahhh - those were the days.
