  • peace revolution!!!

  • i swear i heard the word communist in there

  • Liars!

  • I thought speed reading involves subduing or eliminating subvocalization except where you need to really understand something. I speed read but I found that applying the techniques made me a poor reader when I read out loud to a group. Reading every word is important.

  • actually, the republican amendment was a lengthy stall tactic and the reading of it was trrying to comply with the rules of the committee and still get shit done.

the repubs are stalling everything to do with clean energy technology because they are in the back pockets of the oil and coal lobbies.

    don't you get it???

  • They're stalling it because its a market that hasn't naturally occured in the free market and it will further our debt and destory our economy. How do you create technology for which there is no demand for?

Don't you get it? Liberal talking points don't work. Repubs and Dems ARE ONE AND THE SAME.

  • i ask unanimous ascent that these political fucks who are running our world do their fucking job

  • not fast at all....

  • WOW. This is just as bad as Hurricane Chris at the Louisiana House of Reps. the other day rapping like its a Goddamn show. Our goverment is a fucking joke. A joke that dont give a fuck about anyone but themselves

  • As sure as rain is wet, you are right. I feel like this government of the people by the people has turned into a government of themselves, with bueraucratic placating every 2 to 4 years to a constituency who is ill informed to blink let alone vote.

  • Where is the Micro Machine man when you need him?

  • Nice work. keep it up. mean time come for social media marketing for esteembpo**com GJ

  • Mill the ice, and cool the hto lands!

  • That's the slowest speed reading I've ever heard.

  • The Democrats have made a mockery of government through wasteful spending.

  • This is a great video! If you want to help save the world from the effects of climate change, then sign a petition that will be presented at this years UN Summit.

    watch?v=CmifUjngBM0

  • They obviously do not care what this says, they are going to force it on us whether we like it or not. Feeling oppressed by this oppressive government yet people?

  • Hahaha, all a big joke.

  • yay. It's so FUNNY. :P

  • Waxman just flipped a big bird to the American people. F U he says. We're not going to read this, we're just going to shove it down your throats and there's not a damn thing you can do about it.

  • Waxman has wax where his brain should be.

  • Crummy Croissant, I know your mother is muscular but don't confuse us, she has a darker beard.

  • What a joke. The lunatics are running the asylum!

  • I'd have made him read the whole dam thing, but I'm a jackass like that. This thing is a fiasco. Bad science in a bad bill.

  • that dude looks like a spoc

  • A slap in the face to us....the tax payers who actually PAY taxes, not the ones who get reimbursements!

  • None of the jackasses in congress are going to get with it until a mob drags a few of them out in public and they are tarred and feathered! And they deserve HOT tar!

  • That's the best idea I've heard all year!

  • Great. Our tax dollars hard at work. What a joke >:(

  • We surrender!!!

  • I think this is disgusting. Making jokes over spending money from us and thinking it's funny that they do not read the the bills they pass to spend that money is disgustingl.

  • Why is this so amazing? Anyone who grew up with Micro Machines realizes this guy isn't as good as the Micro Machines guy

  • Yeah, wtf.

  • Great to know they're really on top of things at these hearings.

  • Should've read the "stimulus" bill... that's packed with so much pork even with his speed he would be reading it for decades! LOL... so funny because it is true.

  • hollynose

  • If only all government worked this fast.

  • That sir is the absolute last thing we want with this fake running the show. Just how fast do you want a one world socialist government anyway????????

  • OK...where is PT Barnum hiding

  • how did this have any effect on us..

  • Everything about this says we're screwed.

  • lol

  • Well great idiocy is going around again. Wow, this idiocy virus is more dangerous than the swine flu one.

  • everyone's got to have some fun and blow off some steam, otherwise why are we living? this would be less controversial however if the world and u.s. weren't in such a mess and if politicians didn't come off as idiot characters 80% of the time. and it does kinda make it look like they don't care about global warming, which to many is just a conspiracy. i do personally believe that humans have the power to pollute and destroy the habitability of our earth however.

  • This is a travesty of American "Democracy"

  • o this is how politics are conducted in the U.S? Like stand-up comedy? God help us ....

  • The global warming scam is only constructed so they can flees the taxpayers of the western industrialized world and suppress development in the third-world countries. The Global Warming Scam is a New World Order Scam.

  • Way to go Henry Notrolitis! Your exactly why we need to go back to the Constitution. Barton is no better, another Statist who needs to go also.

  • wtf is this?

  • What a circus! They all need to go.

  • WTF, These retards should read everything that the are going to be signing.

  • Guess I can make a joke about Congress for speed reading through the Patriot Act!

  • funny shit, America is a joke.

  • THIS IS AN SNL TV SKETCH, RIGHT ????

  • what is so funny???

  • ....... What a fucking circus.

  • At first I thought that I wouldnt be able to understand him, but to my surprise, I was actually able to keep up with him. But yeah, this was sad to watch.

  • I have a question. What was the point of this? I mean, really. Was this comic relief for those at this hearing or something? What was the point?

  • The point was the Republicans were doing everything they could to kill the bill, so they could serve their fossil fuel masters. It was a ploy on their part to slow things down so it wouldn't be voted on, that backfired on them. It made them look as though they couldn't read.

When you are working with children like the Republicans, that's what you have to do.

  • Well you see scientists in the 70's early 80's were barking about how the world was getting cooler unless we did something drastic! Guess what, nothing happened. Again in the 90's early 2000 they changed it from global cooling to global warming saying that the earth is now heating up out of control again. Here we are in 2009 and its called "climate change". Stupid environmentalists.

  • From what I remember, as I was alive then, they DID something about it. They passed bills curbing pollution to clean up the air. That's why it didn't get cooler, and when they discovered global climate change from CO2.

You do know that the scientists realized CO2 was causing problems back then, don't you? There has been a concerted effort for decades now by the fossil fuel companies to confuse the issue, but the scientists that realized it pretty much had it figured out then.

  • I am appalled that, rather than read the bill to thoroughly understand what is in this legislation, they would mock and ignore the will of the people in their outcry over the unquestioned stimulus bill and callously duplicate their neglect.

  • Can they not read it themselves? Are they illiterate? Why does it have to be read aloud?

  • If they were asked to read it themselves would they? Do they? By their own admission, they haven't read any of the bills they passed this Congress.

  • Hmm, seems to me that happened when the Republicans were in power - by design because they would bring the bill to a vote without giving any time to read it. They have been wrangling about this bill for months now, so it seems they have had time.

  • what's your point. This bill like all the others that are being rushed through, has not been read. Have you tried reading a bill? You have to reference so many other bills and laws, I don't think anyone reads them. I don't care repubs or dems. What is going on?

  • So two wrongs make a right? Disgusting how they all take spending our money so lightly!

  • My concern is that they are constantly adding things or changing wording at the "11th hour" We have had evidence of that in the AIG fiasco in the stimulus bill. When any congressman was asked if they read the bill, no one could say they had. This bill was 900 + pages. The stimulus bill 1000 +. When this legislation is going to cost so much and change so drastically how our country operates, I think it's a small thing to ask for them to read and clarify each bill.

  • Do you think Congress found it necessary to actually read how much of our money they were going to give AIG? AIG insures the pensions of our corrupt Congress.

  • Interesting point!

  • Actually I agree on principal, but at least it's not a bill that will kill people as some of those that were rushed through in the Republican days were. Oh, and who has been doing all the changes? Look at all the amendments, by the Repubs.

Personally, I am happy to see our country changed, considering how it has been. We need more focus on getting disconnected from the middle east, getting more people decent health care, and doing something to control our screwing up the climate.

  • The AIG bailout was separate from the stimulus bill. Where do you get your information?

The first bailout, when the Bush administration, was the really strange one. No one knows where the money went, unlike the more recent one. Elizabeth Warren, whose group was charged with following the money, says that it just disappeared. The more recent bailout, on the other had, was tracked by the Obama crowd.

The stimulus bill had nothing to do with the financial world bailout.

  • Doesn't the main judge guy there look EXACTLY like dracula from bram stocker's dracula when he is in giant bat form ?

  • Wow, those representatives really think they're high and mighty don't they? That looked exactly like the royal family being entertained by the court jester.

    Freakin Washington crooks.

  • your tax dollors at work!!!

  • The inmates are officially running the asylum. And we're the ones paying for it.

  • 2:06. I fell off my chair, crying.

  • wtf !!!

  • The fact that they have to hire a speed reader to read a bill is absolutely ridiculous. They cant even read for themselves! fucking sad sad sad.

  • you see the democrats had a 900 page bill, and the republicans requested it be read aloud, (dunno what terms that is allowed apon but oh whell) and the replucans just did it so they could stall democrats cuz they dont like the bill. so the democrats had to hire him to speed read it so they could get this bill through

  • Yeah I get that part....sadly it is probably another bill that none of them have even read....and will vote on!

  • people are always telling me I talk fast. Wonder if I could beat him...

btw look up: We Didn't Start The Crisis Stern

(parody about the economy, but must be familiar with the original video: We Didn't Start The Fire by Billy Joel)

  • They're just pointing out a big f'up of how congress works. They make these 100's of pages of a single bill, that is written by legislators (and lawyers) that have so much ridiculous jargon and extra b.s. that congress does not have the time of day to read all this. If every congressman were to read every single line of every single bill. it would take even longer for shit to get done in the gov't. we have to wait a long time as it is.

  • then make the bills shorter... ...or rather take the tiem to get it right

  • @djeasyice

The less congress gets done the better off the country would be. Speed reader my ass, they need a retarded first grader to read it real slow, twice.

  • What a slap in the face to the American people. All we asked was for Congress to read legislation before blindly voting on it, and they made the request a fuckin joke. Ha Ha we just passed a bill that will make all Americans pay trillions in higher taxes. Very funny mother fucker

  • Well stated.

  • So, they can't read it silently to themselves, or with their assistants? Why does it have to be read out loud? Are they illiterate?

  • thats guy kind of looks like some kind of animal real talk

  • Holy shit he sounds like those guys on info commercials

  • Mr. Waxman needs to shave off that mustache of his...its foogly.

  • Obama supporters are misinformed, but are too blind to realize it.

  • Supporters of either parties are misinformed, and they are all too blind to realize it until its too late. So stop with the biased comments.

  • Obama supporters are misinformed, but are too blind to realize it.

  • WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS FAGGOTORY

  • Shut your mouth!

  • global warming is not reaL?

  • resist the global carbon tax

resist it at the pumps first or it will be too late

  • Morons,, all of them

  • These people are making fools of themselves. I don't care if they're Democrats or Republicans, they're just acting ignorant....

  • Glogal warming is NOT real. Cap and trade is just another way to sock it to the American public and this congress is making a mockery out of something serious. They should all be KICKED OUT OF OFFICE

  • Waxman (aka the mayor of whoville) can go to hell, Barton can go to hell, and this ass-clown speedreader can go to hell. Bastards

  • libbs are fucking morons.

  • Oh really? Mr. Barton, the representative from Texas who asks the speed reader to reader the amendment to the bill is REPUBLICAN.

  • The libs hired the speed reader

  • If anyone has friends in California, please send them this link. The Republicans asked that every Bill be read in full aloud before being voted on and this was his response. Waxman needs to go home to live in the real world. I am glad that he finds a Bill that will cost the average American family $10,000 per year so comical. Vote the clowns out.

  • Yeah, vote out the Republicans and Democrats. Let Ron Paul take over. These neo-cons are just as bad as the liberals!

  • I couldn't even believe this was real when I saw this,

    this is an absolute outrage,

we need a million man march on Washington if this stuff continues,

    this is wrong,

    no one can argue otherwise.

  • What utter contempt for the American people and our Founding Fathers. The Democrats seem to think the whole issue is a joke. Hopefully this will lead to them being thrown out en masse in 2010.

  • This is our representative government?

  • This is an UNBELIEVABLE OUTRAGE. These people should resign in shame.

DO YOUR JOBS -- the will of the people.

  • The arrogance of the Democrats is astounding. And Waxman is from California- you think he'd have learned from Tuesday.

  • Giggle giggle ha ha! Just one big FUCKING JOKE! "Wow, he can read fast!" None of them, NONE OF THEM GIVE A FLYING RED FUCK ABOUT NONE OF US! HA HA HA HA HA HA! Give me a fucking break! Fuck the Dem's! Fuck the Repub's. Ron Paul Is all we have left. Fuck them all!

  • this is where tax money goes??????

  • You can see right up Waxmans nose, what a hoser! These guys don't work!

  • These people do not work for us. They only do what is needed to get themselves re-elected. when can we pitch fork these fools out of DC?

  • these people work for us?

  • C-SPAN 3?

    holy shit

  • idiot republitards. bush screwed the pooch & things need fixed. lots of things. many, many things.

  • So you've got a procedural vote that requires you to read a 900 page document aloud. We've got an app for that.

  • Damn, I was going to say that.

  • This is pathetic... its not a requirement that bills be read, although they should be, and if you notice, they didn't even listen to what the guy had to say. They were just so enthralled that someone in the room could read that they got out of order and couldn't maintain bearing that we would hope our representatives would have.... PATHETIC.

  • Our government at work. Oi vei!

  • government waste

  • who's that bald ugly guy?

  • This why our country is in trouble

  • hell yeah this is the reason, hes a robot.

    your being taken over man!

  • Robots don't wear orange.

  • Comment removed

  • C-span sucks

  • Why?

  • funny

  • Our tax dollars at work

  • They should have had him read the whole thing. He seems to have a good talent!

  • They should have to read aloud each and every amendment and each and every bill each time they vote.

This would serve to reduce the amount of frivolous and stupid legislation that gets passed.

The USA PATRIOT Act was read by only one or two who voted on it.

You could stick anything in these bills, and people would vote for them based on what others say is in it!

What do we pay them for, anyway, if not to know what is in the bills they are voting on?

  • That's what happens when you cross the Waxman

  • I WANT MY TAXES BACK MOTHER FUCKERS

  • Let's raise the level of debate here, fellow Americans:

All of you, Dem or Rep, are a bunch of faggots. There. That's where most of America stands. Now go about legislating without giving a shit what the ignorant rabble blathers on about. Seriouslydon't give a shit what they think.

  • Congress may have created or saved 1 job there.

  • lol guys come on!, so they had a little fun in the congress. Whats the harm. i must say this was really funny especially coming from a (R). Ok if they do this every day thats a problem, it was a one time thing...just laugh and move on

  • I love the Republicans:

Efficiency is the key! Don't waste money or time!

Except when a bill is about to be passed that hurts your lobbyist and corporate friends, then stall and waste as much time and money as possible.

  • Or hurts the middle class and the poor, you know, the little guy that the democrats claim they want to help. The taxes on the energy companies will be passed down to you and me and everyone else. Jobs will be lost and the economy will continue to stagnate. And guess what, nothing about the environment will improve. Prez Zero promised this would cause energy rates to skyrocket. And that will screw the little guy most.

But hey anything to upset republicans, right asshole?

  • so...your suggestion as I am understanding it, is that since corporations will turn things around and screw the little guy, that we should not reign in corporations in any way and they should be allowed to rampage and pillage the economy, the planet and our wallets in whatever way they see fit. Is that your contention?

Big business has no morality so they should just get their way? They are bullies so we should cower and accept it?

  • Um, is there some part of the bill that will prevent the corporations from trying to make a profit? Whenever the government raises taxes on business, the cost is always put to the consumer, otherwise the business doesn't make money and fails. Is it your contention that businesses are taxed so punitively that they go out of business, causing a major loss of jobs and damage to an already damaged economy. Just because you think they are evil? Typical libtard emotional response.

  • Yes, obviously efficient energy practices, cheaper energy, and all the jobs created to build a 21st century energy infrastructure are going to hurt the little guy.

Republicans: Getting Dumber and Dumber Since 1919

  • Yes and forcing the bankruptcy of the current forms of energy, causing thousands of jobs to be lost, skyrocketing energy prices (as per Prez Zero) that will hurt the poor and middle class the most, all for the purpose of social engineering, with a bill that even Waxman admits he has no idea whats all in it. All before your precious alternative energy is ready for primetime. Yeah, thats the way to do it.

Liberals: Sucmbag, lying little children destroying America one bill at a time.

  • Comedy gets things done. Britain's parliment jokes around way more - look it up online

  • what a croak of shit

one clown is even taking pictures

  • /facepalm

  • Is this what we've been reduced to? Is this America? WTF do I play taxes for?

  • I'll read it oh no i cant we the people are not allowed right but i would if i could would only take a few hours with a pen to mark out the bits that were not ok highlighted i mean it wasnt written five minutes before so it was around long enough for someone with general knowledge of the bill could yhave done it they were dilibarately lazy they did not want to read it just put it through and pick up the bank cheque is all that matters eh n certainly not details

  • Calm down clowns. This is simply a way to have fun with a monotonous job. Trust me, you would not rather be doing it.

  • The simple things they do to shift their short little spans of attention :)

  • We need people like that in Congress. Then things can hurry up and get done.

  • why was this a big joke....i dont understand. dont they hold the prosperity of peoples lives in their hands.

  • ridiculous.

  • This is nothing short of a MOCKERY of The United States System of Government by Democrats. I am sickened and disgusted by Waxman , Pelosi et all. Today they voted against hearings into whether or not the CIA Lied to Congress. Why reject hearings that could vindicate Pelosi? Because hearings will BURY Pelosi and other Dems thats why,

  • Waxman looks like Mr. Potatohead, and at 2:07 he's giving us a Dwight Frye laugh. Mind you; I don't usually like *argumentum ad hominem,* but I just couldn't resist the Dwight frye reference.

  • Mr. Waxman? More like Mr. Moleman.

  • I'm glad that while our country is going to hell in a hand basket the congress is yucking it up. It makes me feel better about the whole mess... really... it does.
