Well you see scientists in the 70's early 80's were barking about how the world was getting cooler unless we did something drastic! Guess what, nothing happened. Again in the 90's early 2000 they changed it from global cooling to global warming saying that the earth is now heating up out of control again. Here we are in 2009 and its called "climate change". Stupid environmentalists.
From what I remember, as I was alive then, they DID something about it. They passed bills curbing pollution to clean up the air. That's why it didn't get cooler, and when they discovered global climate change from CO2.
You do know that the scientists realized CO2 was causing problems back then, don't you? There has been a concerted effort for decades now by the fossil fuel companies to confuse the issue, but the scientists that realized it pretty much had it figured out then.
I am appalled that, rather than read the bill to thoroughly understand what is in this legislation, they would mock and ignore the will of the people in their outcry over the unquestioned stimulus bill and callously duplicate their neglect.

My concern is that they are constantly adding things or changing wording at the "11th hour" We have had evidence of that in the AIG fiasco in the stimulus bill. When any congressman was asked if they read the bill, no one could say they had. This bill was 900 + pages. The stimulus bill 1000 +. When this legislation is going to cost so much and change so drastically how our country operates, I think it's a small thing to ask for them to read and clarify each bill.

They're just pointing out a big f'up of how congress works. They make these 100's of pages of a single bill, that is written by legislators (and lawyers) that have so much ridiculous jargon and extra b.s. that congress does not have the time of day to read all this. If every congressman were to read every single line of every single bill. it would take even longer for shit to get done in the gov't. we have to wait a long time as it is.

This would serve to reduce the amount of frivolous and stupid legislation that gets passed.
The USA PATRIOT Act was read by only one or two who voted on it.

Whenever the government raises taxes on business, the cost is always put to the consumer, otherwise the business doesn't make money and fails.
