  • lol @ cochra27

  • we have 2 reflexes here: vor, okr...the light was on, so the vor was up too

  • @carrirolo the okr was up too, sry

  • motion compensation

    interesting

sad thought that cameras havent mastered such a simple thing thought

camera makers must suck at simple math

  • good video

  • This should be the occulocephalic test, aka Doll's eye's test. The vestibulooccular test is aka caloric test where you inject cold water into patient's ears and look for nystagmus responses.

  • @ericcharng This maneuver is called Head Thrust test, described by MIchael Haymagyi in 1988 (Halmagyi GM, Curthoys IS. A clinical sign of canal paresis. Arch Neurol.1988;45:737-739.) In fact the occulocephalic test is really testing the vestibulocular reflex but a low frecuency. The caloric testing also triggers the vestibulocular reflex but in a very low frecuency. The head thrust test is a high acceleration test for the vestibulocular reflex.

  • Thank you. It's very informative. I read my book past 2 hours. Now, I understand it better.

  • This is also described as the horizontal Head Impulse Test (h-HIT) by Kattah and others.

    Stroke. 2009; 40:3504-3510.

  • little note to the generator of the title: this is the okulo-cephalic reflex

  • @ cochra27 "FINISH HER!!!" - HAHAHAHA.. HAHAHAHAHA!!.

I just got to laugh on that comment.. hahahahha....

  • this is probably why people get car sick, looking out the window makes you eyes move back and forth

  • Is this the same mechanism that allows birds to keep their heads and eyes level when in flight and when walking?

  • @E2qNX8btraQ3zRD6J7fc Exactly!! is the same reflex!

  • FINISH HER!!!

  • OMG, why is he trying to kill her, and she's just looking. Shute if it was me, I'll let him have it. Aint nobody goin treat me like dat.

  • A bit forceful; this test could be demonstrated with the subject performing the head movements whilst fixating on an object..same thing.

Try looking in the mirror whilst carrying this out, the reflex will be enhanced,

  • of course it is a labyrintic reflex and not a visual one.

  • Ce ne sont pas des réflexes a départ visuel ce sont des réflexes a départ labyrinthique.

  • Good job! simple and informative!

  • cn 8..vestibula part,,VOR,,to check also for nystagmus

  • is this a nystagmus test?

  • No it's not. Nystagmus is like a saccade (when the eye follows the visual field while executing quick returns to a central position) like when you're in a moving car and try to have a non blurry image of the outside.

  • Which tract are we testing here? (The relevence of this test)

  • You're testing the vestibulocerebellar tract...the tract from the vestibular apparatus, through the inferior cerebellar peduncle, to the (vestibulocerebellum/paleocerebellum/flocconodular nobe/vermis) and back again. If this occurs spontaneously or erratically, there's a lesion somewhere.
