  • I'm a newbie, Just listened to this song this year and fell in love, now its on repeat!! Thanks for posting

  • Mikki Howard is one of my most favorite female artist of all time

    I just cop this CD

  • This is such a beautiful song.....Those with true talent never get the respect they really deserve, it's a shame. How can anyone say that pop music can top this!! That's a hella to the NAH!!!! It can never compare to real music like this EVER!!!! Straight up!

  • @SheBQueen4eva Uh this is POP MUSIC because R&B is Pop right along with Jazz, Funk, Folk, Dance & Hip-Hop/Rap which is all the Pop rolled into one.

  • @PopCulture20 No I don't think this is pop music....pop is consider in, it's popular, its in right now, it's in the in crowd. It's what sells and I can't say that for Pure R&B, soulful, beautiful music like this. Don't get me wrong Pop is cool and yes it derives from all that you mentioned, but in my opinion soul music is dying. You can see that in how the artist represent themselves today. Example Neyo, Usher, Rihanna, Beyonce, lady Gaga etc. Pop music has replaced soul music.

  • @SheBQueen4eva ...Soul music will never die as long as spirits seek it.The people you named aren't even fit to wipe the butts of real SOUL SANGERS and people that LOVE soul are highly insulted that you would name the people you named especially Rihanna,I mean she is the worst of the worst.Mediocre is the norm in the industry today. Excellence was the norm of Soul singers back in the day which is why people my age seek those singers because my parents exposed me to greatness.

  • @Cymone777 Agreed. Back then, there was a VERY HIGH level for perfection in R&B artists. Now it's such a massive distance between what was then, vs. the almost stillborn R&B out now, it's almost borderline embarrassing.

  • @jrors93 ...Thank You! I wish I lived through the golden eras of music.I have heard the stories of house parties as well as late nights at the juke joints from my wild Grandfather) I'm almost 23 but this is the only type music I know because of my parents/aunts/uncles and Grand Parents who ONLY listen to this type of stuff. There is no singer today that I can compare to Miki Howard and all the queens of yesteryear!

The only more current singers I like are Jill Scott/Angie Stone and Erykah Badu!

  • @Cymone777 Of course that was the point I was trying to make....I don't think they are fit to wipe any of the old school singers.....These so called artist of today can't even hang with folk from back in the day when real music existed, but to me as far as what's coming its not like it used to be and to a certain extinct it has died. But like you said if we keep seeking it maybe it can be saved, who knows but we'll see....take care. Peace!

  • @PopCulture20 Think about this for just a moment. All of the different genres you named have different names for a reason. It's because they are all different and they appeal to many different audiences. You named 7 different genres but you didn't include Blues, Country, Bluegrass, Zydeco, or Calypso. Why? Why not throw them in the mix? I suppose it's either a lack of knowledge or a lack of understanding. No matter which, all music is not Pop or the same. Knowledge is Power.

  • @DaddySweet100 Excuse me but ALL MUSIC IS POP!!! Why the hell do you think every genre is always on a top 40 playlist? ARE YOU SERIOUS?

  • @PopCulture20 WOW, interesting. I see that you lack the ability to listen to or accept the opinion of others. Reference back to the comment offered to you by "ShebQueen4eva". She and I tried to offer you a different prespectives on the matter of what is "Pop Music". Your responding comment tells me a lot about you. You are narrow in scope and lack depth of knowledge on the subject of music genre. No further comment from you is needed, required or will be entertained. You have a Merry Christmas.

  • @DaddySweet100 What a great response, very classy, intelligent, eloquently said and I appreciate your opinion....Thank you and God bless :>)

  • @SheBQueen4eva Thank You SheBQueen4eva. I could see that you tried to offer some clarity and educate that person, but I guess we can't save everbody from themselves. I just couldn't leave "The Queen" out there all alone. Like you all I tried to do was offer a different presepective and stimulate their thinking. Maybe the brain has maxxed out & can no longer receive new information or process any. LOL. Oh well. Such is life. Have a Merry Christmas & Joyous Holiday season to you & family.

  • @DaddySweet100 I'm sorry but you are just plain stupid and need to go back to school. Yes I know this is R&B music but R&B music has ALWAYS had a crossover impact in the pop charts like it has in the past but not every R&B single is gonna have a crossover audience like a Stevie Wonder classic because some individual R&B singles like this one would only fare well with an R&B crowd dumbass. That is what makes R&B an individual genre but it's also POP MUSIC MORON

  • my favorite mikki howard song. thanks so much.

  • Great Song

  • BEAUTIFUL SONG

  • WHIMSICAL!

  • Wow Miki I still love this jam forever and ur beautiful. I jus referred this song to a good friend who is having relationship troubles.

  • Damn, this is hitting the SPOT! on my heart.

  • come share my love

    come share my Joy

hmnn !!?? wonder how many times the word 'Joy' appears in this song ?

  • love this lady

  • This is REAL MUSIC!!!!!!!!!

  • Beautiful voice

  • @lifetimepanther1944, not I...I was always stuck on all you named and still is. Melissa Morgan Evelyn Champagne King and Anita Baker.

  • LUV IT....

  • Beautiful song. I wish she would have remained clear from drugs & focused on her career. So much of good R&B talent & a jazz queen.

    New Orleans loves you...

  • I remember back in 86 when this song was out my aunt's neighbor a girl about 17 sang this song and the quality of her voice was so compelling that a bunch of us including the adults present stopped what we were doing and marvelled at the songstress, music truly is a universal language. Something about that still captivates me even today.

  • come share my love

    come share my Joy

    xx

  • this is the jam!!!!!

  • I have her performing this on American Bandstand

  • @willjarmon can u upload it... Id love 2 see it :) footage of her is so hard to find ...

  • geez a song with a melody oohhhh the 80/s

  • I love this song #80s & the #90s we're the best... miss that shit with a passion

  • @TorreyCrowe: I think the original point sort of went over your head....please try to keep up. You are missing a lot in the middle so just relax and backtrack. Al lot of what you said is true but it is so much deeper then that.

  • Happy Birthday Miki

  • Tru Dat Tru Dat,, so sad so Wrong!!!

  • Freshman year at Grayson co Tx junior college in 1987...this song was the first joint i heard on the faded radio station signal, when i woke around 6:30am every morning...forever connected to Ms. Howard...Thanks for posting!!!!!!!!!

  • I agree the music is predominantly run by a host of devils no doubt, but if i could sing like Miki, Whitney, Vesta, Luther, Prince, etc., The industry can suck their on u no what, and I'll use my voice to make it without them M*#%$F$%^&$! With The M.H.GOD all things are possible, so we can make a new industry!

  • love this song!

  • Where did you get the soft ware for the Comic Book back drop for the pics?

  • I saw unsung The facts is N the pudding. Miki Howard was suppose 2 go further than what she did N the music industry. Not only she can sing but she can also write. The fact that she was a young beautiful blk woman with Asian facial features made her global. I personal beliefs is that Japan N the rest of Asia would of loved 2 have her their 2 perform Bcause she kind of look like them and plus she can sing! U had and have people going to those Countries making money who don't even look like them.

  • Wow this song really takes me back to my childhood....#loveit

  • @leewilla35: The industry don't care about none of that what you said....they don't even see these people as human....they see them as money makers. Whitney Houston may have had great success but look at the cost. When you rise to whitney's level the pressure is so great on you back daily. Imagine a life where somebody is always pulling at you day and night. A lot of these famous people turn to drugs and/or alcohol to cope. Many of them figure out that they don't belong to themsleves anymore.

  • simply beautiful.....

  • This My Song.it takes me back to me youth.

  • Love her music wish she would come back out wit something new !! We miss you Mikki : )

  • i love her voice, so relaxing and beautiful...

  • you are so correct about selling your soul to the recording artist. They are the reason why there are so many people who are one hit artists, the promotion is bad and when you dont do what they say, you are history ane that is not fair.

  • looove this song!

  • I LOVE HER! and she wouldn't have to ask twice I'd Share My Love With Her Any Day !

  • IT FUCKED UP HOW THEY DID MS HOWARD

  • love this song to and she still looks good god bless you girl

  • when people sey i miss old time music it was better then this i strongly agree but people should realize that people sing and rap about what they know and back then all they knew was love and heartbreack, thats why they song about that n idk if you notice but now adays there isnt alot of love just war violence drugs hoes n etc, so thats why people sing/rap abt that

  • @indiagthatssme

No really life wasnt that different I'm old enough to remember when this type of music was out. Its about whats commercial and what sells.

  • @njari2 ohh that makes sense too :)

  • @indiagthatssme That sounds about right. Sad but true

  • wishing to sing this to my hubby on our wedding day #whoever that may b :0/

  • <3 this song!!!!!!!!

  • i love this song

  • Beautiful

  • Is it me or has anyone else notice from the mid 80s on up until the early 90s record labels didn't pay any attention to other female singers everybody was stuck on Whitney and before her it was Aretha but great ladies like Miki Howard, Melba Moore, Cherelle, Regina Belle,Phyllis Hyman etc were put aside they were arguably some of the best R&B singers ever.

  • @Lifetimepanther1944

Damn, I love it when people know there stuff !!!!

  • @Lifetimepanther1944 I agree one hundred percent. What about Stacy Lattisaw, Vesta Williams? Sad shame that Phyllis Hyman is no longer with us such a great talent. Miki Howard was my favorite back then.

  • @GodILoveThee the list can go on forever , Vesta Williams Stacy Lattisaw, Deniece Williams ,Jody Watley,Teena Marie, Evelyn "Champagne" King, Loleatta Holloway , Angela Bofill ,Betty Wright ,all are UNSUNG voices. Of course all of these ladies had hits but never cross over and because of personal problems their careers came to a halt . Miki Howard was my fav as well but she had a serious Drug/ Alcohol problem and abusive relationship ;I feel sad for her She would've been a much bigger star

  • @Lifetimepanther1944 You are absolutely right. I had the opportunity to see Miki in April of this year and she did her thang. Still got those vocals.

  • @Lifetimepanther1944 she is far greater star for going thru with her journey /it 's not always about the money

  • @Lifetimepanther1944 I agree with you 100%, especially in the case of Phyllis Hyman.

  • @Lifetimepanther1944 Totally agree, and they do it now, too. Everything is about Beyonce. But the Internet is helping to add new and more talented voices to the noise that's out there.

  • @Lifetimepanther1944 - So very true but I love all these ladies.

  • @Lifetimepanther1944 Actually, I remember them very well when their music was out. They certainly had their day. I probably wouldn't say they were ignored. Whitney simply put out more and made a great deal of money at it. All the folks you list were certainly famous, even to a fault, a sad fault (Phyllis Hyma). I miss their music. Even Whitney's early stuff cannot be matched.

  • @Lifetimepanther1944 yeah...and they tried to 'whitney' this girl

  • Kind of like in the 2000s and up everyone focuses on beyonce? lol. so true.

  • @Lifetimepanther1944 It seems to me that more emphasis is placed on the marketability of the artist rather than the true art of the subtle manipulation of the vocal coards to express a soulfull sound. In other words they woudl rather show you the booty or show how weird the artist is. I wanna hear some real soul, I wanna feel the passion. I don't care about the riffs that an artist can perform with their voices........JUST SING..!

  • @clavical1 i don't know, riffs can be cute sometimes if properly placed. esp if you doing jazz or something "jazzy"

  • @Lifetimepanther1944 Yes I noticed!

  • Powerful song!!

  • still my favorite!!!

  • Miki better sing!!!!!!

  • This is one of my all time favorites and that says alot because I know my music. I know if a song will not make it usually. This song blows all my instincts away.

  • Whitney is my cousin...so that's saying a lot

  • One of the greatest R&B voices of all time (just my opinion) so don't hate...thanks!

  • @ahsimon1 -- I totally agree with you 200%- it is a shame she was bad talked in the industry and no one wanted to work with her--too sad.

  • @ahsimon1 You're right. Mikki is talented & she poured her heart & what she felt in her songs. I saw her unsung special & she had her share od bad times along with the good ones. I hope she gets back in the studio & give us some more good songs.

  • @deannagreen29 that would be good what would be better if people bought enough to put it over the top. i love this lady's voice.

  • @ahsimon1 Its because Whitney is THE ABSOLUTE BEST, it don't get no better than Whitney!

  • Love Miki.

  • @congartino: Those are low self-esteem people who dislike themselves and therefore they are not capable of liking anybody else.

  • I love this song!!!! Thinking first dance at my wedding!!!

  • That's crazy and quite sad...slave concept and control of another kind.

  • And I would like to know, why is there 7 dislikes? Obviously some people don't know what good music is...

  • This Is Just A Small Sample Of Your Best Work : ) Come Share, Share My L<3VE

  • love dis song...one of my faves

  • Miki we didn't forget you! I share your music with my 16 year old daughter....I want her to understand what is true TALENT! God bless you!

  • This is wonderful!!!

  • Who are the turds who dislike this?

  • Wow...How lovely is this song? Thank you Warren for this heartfelt ballad.....

  • Hi

  • Thats why Staci Lattisaw walked away from the business.

  • Geee where did you dig this up from? This my Jam. I dedicate this to my wonderful husband!!! Love you forever!!! Wish I had used this for my first dance.

  • @PopCulture20: Promotion creates the sales....for example when the radio station first introduces the artist to the public. The record monitors how ppl are responding and they have budgets set to promote the artist. Whitney was marketed extremely well and the intinitial cost for her debut albulm was only 250k...but look how well it sold. Her cousin DIonne's name was helpful and the fact that she is Aretha Franklin's god daughter didn't hurt either. Promotion is everything in this game.

  • @PopCulture20: That all maybe true....but it still comes down to how the record company chooses to market you. A good marekting stratergy makes all the difference. As a matter of fact i heard Whitney say that when she signed on she thought she was gonna be a R&B singer too....until Clive showed her he had other plans. Clive wanted Whitney to sing the tyoe of music that appealed to a broader audience. If anybody at Miki's label had a vision for her they could have steered her the same way.

  • @DaOrigTruthSeeker I see where you're coming from but isn't it mostly about the public buying your music first? Because she had the radio play and all she needed was the people to come through. I thought the sales is what creates the promotion .

  • @DaOrigTruthSeeker And plus Whitney had a lot of Rock & Dance elements in her music which gave her that crossover appeal. She a has variety of sounds in her music. Miki's label mostly just gave her R&B which is why her music didn't have that crossover appeal. To be a pop artist, you have to show versatility in music.

  • Love this song!!!

  • I LOVE ALL YOUR MUSIC. YOUR VOICE IS CLASSIC. TELL YOUR SISTER SHE WILL ALWAYS BE MY BIG SISTER. AND WE,"THE PUBLIC", NEED FOR YOU TO COME OUT WITH ANOTHER RELEASE....SOON!

  • Yes
