WOW for only 6 years old this kid already has solid contact... look at his rallies he's so consistent. The power will come as long as he will grow to 6 feet. Top national player in the making here... maybe not pro tho, but who knows.
Why teaching him to play with hard balls on a big court when you have soft balls tought for little kids like that 'til they're 8 and can play with intermediate balls ? It's just .. inappropriate ! His body will suffer in the next few years, and I don't even talk about the raquet. Until he is a teenager, tennis has to stay a pleasure, with tournaments if HE wants, but with more fun that just becoming the best and challenging other guys who won't be able to reach 15 yo without any injury ..
@bsullivan161 hes like 6 or 7 have you ever seen a kid in of 6 who plays like a pro. retard his skill is astounding considering he's so young. he also has style which shows he's a natural
You should really spend some time teaching this kid the right fundamentals at this age. He's not bad for his age but it's best to get him in the right mold early on.
You should really spend some time teaching this kid the right fundamentals at this age. He's not bad for his age but it's best to get him in the right mold earl on.
@mdektas u crazy .. watch a recent silva video he hits crazy arc this kid hits ropes, his serve is twice as fast. not that it matters, there will be kids who are better who havent picked up a racket yet
@tomtom2541 Lol yah ok... silva is shorter than this kid at 8. this kid is 2 yrs younger & would beat him 6-0 6-0 .. if he is really 6, he seems very big for that age who knows
don't really know if jan silva will become a tennis pro, or become a great tennis champ in the future. jan silva is overrated, it's just a product of too much publicity.
good footwork and all but make the forehand more simple, with a back swing like that, when he develops into a player he could be late on many balls and it will be hard to break that habit. when they are that young, keep it simple
very good technique and balance for a boy his age. superb footwork and followthrough, the only major fault I see is his serve. he needs to come in contact point with the ball higher when his elbow is not bent.
Actually he has great form on his forehand. Stalks the ball with the racquet, accelerates after contact, nice wiper follow through. He is one of the better looking tennis kids on You Tube.
Personly I think Jan Silva Is better, but that's not to say this boy is useless, he is a very good player, though on his serve he leans to far to the left so he stumbles off. Andrew has a nice forehand, it clears the net better than I've seen some professionals. He has a lot of potential, so stick in, and maybe you'll be the next nadal, or federer, or whoever.
I like this video. One more parent dreams about his kid being a new star. Somehow such parents mistankenly assume that if a child can hit a few balls over the net, he or she is exceptionally good. The truth comes later, when a kid is around 12-13. At this age, you can start to see real potential stars. Usually, those kids are top-ranked either sectionally or nationally and play real powerful tennis. This kid, like anyone else, might be there if dreams replaced with really hard work.
you're good man you're only 6 i could beat you 9-0 but...you're good. Check my vid out tennis kid im way better than that now but owell you're good for 6 years old! 5 star
too tense buddy you cant keep your shoulders so tense but other than that just work on your wrist rotaion when you are older you could sriously injure your wrists but great job!!
Both players Jan and Andrew look very good. Unfortunately all the videos of Jan Silva are edited for increased frame rate. Increased frame rate creates a mistaken appearance that Jan Silva is fast on strokes and footwork. Need to modify the video of Andrew the same way it was done for Jan to make it more intimidating.
it not like jan has been training at a french tennis academy since he was four and that was like four years ago so he is eight now. and jan played like that at the age of like 3.
This kid should stop getting lessons from whatever coach he has now. We can all tell that he loves tennis, so he should find a coach who can give him the basics to use even when he's 30 years old. He is not strong/old enough to use that adult racquet. That's why his grips are off. Very off. His coach is letting him get away with his forehand grips when he should be using continental on his serve and volleys, and only for short-term success. In a few years, his technique will be obsolete.
Jan Silva use a heavier raqcuet. And he is training in one of the bests academies in the world. This is an old tennis myth. Heavier racquets are better. At the 70's, childrens and womans played with 380 gr racquets. There's no risk of injuries because of this.
Actually, a bigger difference is that Jan was able to use a 1 hand backhand at an earlier age. All in all though, it will be interesting to see how these kids turn out.
I think your really good for your age and you have a lot of potential so dont let me discourage you in any way... just in my opinion your not as good as Silva srry. Plus if you keep with it youll be alot better than me for shure lol... i hope i didnt offend u lol
its harder to volley when your younger because your small and your tennis racquet can hit the ground on your follow through. the taller he gets the better it will get.
As an Indonesian that rarely plays tennis.. You are very admirable to all people in the world.. maybe could help you by promoting your videos to my close friends here in Indonesia.. LOL
i didnt get the purpose of this video
