@Smallvillenerd Um yes - if Doctor Who drops to 4-5m the BBC consider it a fan series and will axe it, and I doubt anyone will want Steven Moffat's Doctor Who back. It's no longer big , it's doctor dw who bbc - a soap drama with complicated script plots and recyced monsters ;)
@TheCalebxy David Tennant's bad episodes got 8M overnight. Matt's get 6M. Iplayer views are potentially biased as it could be the same few hundred playing it over and over , and what kind of a family sits around a computer with their tea watching doctor who when they can watch it on tv? It's a family show , not an internet show , whoever includes the iplayer ratings is a bullshitter
@RegenerationStorm The Impossible Astronaut is the most recorded show in British TV history. Last year, The Eleventh Hour broke the record for the most watched program in America. This year, The Impossible Astronaut did the same thing.
@TheCalebxy Recorded - But get this , that technology wasn't around when David Tennant was the doctor yet by overnight he was getting 8 or more million - this is what you do not understand - Steven Moffat's got everything to advertise doctor who but you cannot say something is so amazing which actually isnt when you watch it - Russel T Davies' doctor who never let me down - not ever - and to me maybe that is the reason why ACTUALLY overnight Day of the Moon hit a shitter getting 5M ratings-
@RegenerationStorm Exactly, because the technology wasn't around, people had to watch it. But when everyone can easily record it, they do (which is evident by the fact that The Impossible Astronaut broke the record for the most recorded program in British TV history). And in my opinion, Moffat's Who is a lot lot lot better than RTD's.
@TheCalebxy I think the whole recording attribute is just an extra, there is no escuse for doctor who to stoop so low - Britains got talent and X Factor dominate the ratings, yet they can also be recorded etc. The End of Time got 12M when David left , and the eleventh hour got 10M to see what Matt was like , which dropped incredibly by around 4M with the beast below - and the scripts are so complicated - people dont get it and switch over - thats why the shows getting 5-6 , next year itll be 3-4
@RegenerationStorm No, The Beast Below did NOT get 4M. And the show is only getting 5-6M overnight. That's not the total ratings. The total for TIA was somewhere between 8-9M, and that's not including the 4M of recordings it got.
@TheCalebxy I cannot be bothered to discuss this with you - I didnt even say the beast below got 4M I said it fell by 4M compared to the eleventh hour and for god sake there is a reason - you cannot see it - the scripts are soap dramas, complicated - the monsters are recycled bullshit , I do not want to hear someone change my mind about the doctor who I grew up with and knowing - 1963-2009. I gave it a chance and the shows just spat in everyones faces - familys dont watch it -BBC just axe it PLZ
@RegenerationStorm Most of the monsters in this series have been new. In fact, the only episode so far to feature old monsters has been episode 7. But if you don't want to discuss it, then that's ok.
@TheCalebxy S5E3 Daleks S5E4/5 Weeping Angels s58/9 Silurians S512/13 EVERY MONSTER IN DOCTOR FLAMING WHO S6E7 Cybermen S6E11 Weeping Angels, Daleks , doctor himself [How fucking original] , S6E12/13 Silence AGAIN - The imagination is dead - deal with it
@RegenerationStorm Now a list of the new monsters. S5E1: the Atraxi, Prisoner Zero S5E2: the Smilers, the Star Whale S5E6: "Vampires" S5E7: Eknodine, The Dream Lord S5E10: Krafayis S5E11: Fake Tardis S6E1/2: the Silence S6E3: Siren S6E4: House S6E5/6: Gangers S6E7: Headless Monks S6E8: Teselecta S6E9: Peg Dolls S6E10: Handbots S6E11: Minotaur S6E13: Pterodactyls That's 20 new monsters, compared to 8 reused ones.
@TheCalebxy The Ratio of old and new monsters - compared to the RTD Era - looks shit in comparison - Series 1 , 8/13 were new , Series 2 9/13 were new , Series 3 10/13 were new , Series 4 8/13 were new , Specials 3/5 were new , Series 5 6/13 were new , Series 6 - from the trailers there are weeping angels daleks silence cybermen .... you know the old kind *zzzzzz*
@TheCalebxy Then the trailers have utterly failed to express that - and on average combined with Series 5 , it's not a very advertising amount of new monsters - we end up going backwards with the doctor all the damn time -.-
@RegenerationStorm The Comic-Con trailer shows: Gibbis, A Cyberman, A minotaur, A Silent, A Cyberman, Weeping Angels, A Peg Doll, A Dummy, A Handbot, A Viking type thing, A Minotaur, A Silent, A Minotaur, Handbots, Gibbis, A Handbot, A Silent, A Minotaur, Cybermen and finally the Astronaut.
So it shows 12 new monsters and 8 reused monsters. Looks fine to me.
@TheCalebxy It was misleading - it repeatedly showed all of the old villains for my distaste. You obviously went through that really carefully to make out which monsters appeared where - wheras natrually on your first watch you can't do that - what I saw and always see is the same old recycled monsters flashing past , as if to look somewhat cool - well - according to ratings , unlikely [Colin Baker tone of voice there]
@RegenerationStorm Well, the fact of the matter is, it showed more new monsters than old. And maybe you only noticed the old ones because you're actually familiar with them. When you see something you know, you think "I know that monster" but when you see something you don't know, it passes through your mind unnoticed.
@TheCalebxy Well it's beyond the point , there was so much use of time to show all of the old villains you can't really miss them - I know and can vision in my mind David Walliam's character , I know what a teradactyl looks like , they've done it in all of their finale trailers, they chuck in imagery of the old villains to win people over - well , the 5m that even saw what a Silence looked like LOL :D
@TheCalebxy Not from my memory of watching it back , and I watched it just now, I still see blunt cutting of every old villain brought back and that dissapoints me as a fan because I wanna see new monsters - sure they might do more new monsters but the trailer did not show that for me, :/
@TheCalebxy well it would help if you knew more about doctor who before you claim the new stuff is good, but judging by the way Moffat is treating the show he must think the less people know about doctor who history the better as he obviously couldn't careless about the fans
@dwho1994 Why do I have to have watched Classic Who to know if Nu Who is any good? You don't need to compare it with anything before you're allowed to say it has good stories, good acting, good special effects, etc.
@RegenerationStorm I was expecting a little bit more myself I thought there was going to be a big war and stuff but all the episode really did was build up to the reaveal of river song
@Darkseeker109 I think it was time filler to be frank - This story was just chucked in props and costumes in a skanky old warehouse - with spare humans to fill in as soldiers and monks - the story was pointless... rivers ending was the only thing that mattered and even that was completely predictable
@VintageSnatchy It doesnt come out till next fall howd you find out!? OMG i didnt know that i thought it had been canceled oh what a relief so if its coming out then its probably going to be a epic awesome episode if they are taking that long
@ASLDude1997 it think they said it in the end of the ep. pr i read it some were, but im 100% sure it does :D and ohh yeah i hope it gonna be a looong movie or something! :DDD
@NizzleIndustries ok i know that you are trying to make a point here, and it a terrific hypothesis, but i love the name you gave her. Rivelody. brilliant. oh and also, wouldn't "River" technically be her LAST name, and "Song" would be her first. "Melody Pond" River=Pond Melody=River.
sorry im sure you already know this but i just couldn't help but to say it to someone
In regards to who blew up the Tardis and was apprently trying to erase the universe ask yourself this: Who tried to erase the entire of creation before and didn't that voice inside the Tardis sound like someone we heard before? :)
@masteraj57 I don't really recall if it was you or someone else but I THINK they were refurring to the voice inside the TARDIS before it blew up. For some reason I assumed it was Davros and that he orginally said it in the episode when he stole all the planets and tried to erase everything.
I guess to make a long story short (too late) I was saying it was perhaps him either directly or something he did to the TARDIS during that story or something. :)
Jwest1892, likely River DOES remember but since she's playing things close to the chest and trying to protect the timeline she would pretend she didn't. Kinda the same reason she doesn't run up to Amy from day one and say "Oh hello mum" or something. :)
A faint question that's bugged me about Series 5 and 6 has always been why do our Universes' Cybermen do not ressemble that of the head found in the glass cabinet that The Ninth Doctor found in the episode "Dalek"- in "The Age of Steel" The Tenth Doctor also commented on the severed head, commenting that our Universe's Cybermen WOULD look exactly like that should we ever see one. But apprently ours are parallel with no C.
@RegenerationStorm Actually, in "The Age of Steel" he says "Yeah, there are cybermen in our universe too, they started on an ordinary planet just like this one, then swarmed across the galaxy". That's all he ever says of them. Anyway, their design changed almost every story, so it's not like changing the design is a new concept. Plus, the classic cybermen were rubbish. That will offend many people, but that is my opinon, and you cannot change it.
@imjustchillinftw I respect your views on the cybermen as a fan, but Rose adresses to the tenth doctor in the Age of steel about where that particular cyberman was- the cabinet in the museum, its on footage - it was a Revenge of the Cybermen head. I know weather its budget cuts or plain cant be bothered that the Mondas Cybermen havent returned -but I wish just for continuity reasons Moffat stuck to his guns and included that version in The Pandorica Opens and A Good Man Goes To War. :/
@RegenerationStorm Very true, but the Cybermen did evolve their design throughout their existence, and they did split into different factions (so the museum head may just be from a dfferent faction). The cybermen in "A Good Man Goes To War" are Mondasian (they removed the logo). I tend to ignore "The Pandorica Opens". That episode was just one massive continuity error. I think the cybermen are a special case, seeing as their design has changed so much, that we are meant to ignore their design
@RegenerationStorm Basically what we really need is a good, proper 2 episode cyber-story. Exclusively about the mondasian cybermen. That may hopefully clear things up :)
I really need help, I'm going to the doctor who convention tomorrow, but have NO idea for a costume? Something home made obviously, but ANY ideas would be appreciated xx Thank's x
I think River Song LIED about her identity in the end of this episode. I just had that gut instinct that she can't be __________. Its just way off the plot. I know for a fact!
Remember the Big Bang episode? Didn't she call that Queen lady from the future UK episode "Mom"? I don't believe that she is __________ (blanked out the spoilers).
@Blueknightex she calls her "ma'am", not "mum", seeing is she is Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth X, you'd give her some respect, even if she is sitting on the floor pointing a gun at you, and even if you are River Song holding a painting of the TARDIS blowing up :)
@Blueknightex Not for me. I'm curious as to how the SIlence managed to take control of the TARDIS and blow it up, there must be some Time Lord involvement (possibly Omega or The Rani). Also, I hope Moffat explains why on this occasion blowing up the TARDIS would erase history, because that has been threatened countless times throughout the show's history, with the Doctor never showing any concern for universal erasion (if that's a word). Also, the Daleks destroyed many TARDISes in the Time War
@imjustchillinftw Hey i think part of the reason it took the universe with it was because thats what whoever blew it up wanted:) like i dont think they always do but in that case it was designed to if that makes sense i think he says something about it in the big bang:)
@TheCalebxy Well, i think that's what's implied, they must have some conection to it, because they always said "the universe is cracked. the pandorica will open. silence will fall." My theory is that te Silence were charged with protecting the little girl (possibly River), and turning her into a weapon, by Korvarian and her army, who is being guided/assisted by the Rani, who is working for Omega. He originally gave the Silence the means to destroy the tardis (cont. on next comment)
@imjustchillinftw and a way in which to make it erase the universe, as a revenge attack on this universe (coz he is trapped in his own antimatter universe, so would be unharmed). This initial plan failed, so he designed the plan to turn River into a weapon to destroy the Doctor, which would open the way for an invasion or something like that. Also, the Silence were placed on earth as a tool for Omega/The Rani. Just a THEORY :)
@TheCalebxy By "they" i meant that characters in general said that (or variations thereof). There was also the disembodied voice in the TARDIS in Pandorica Opens, and the constant references throughout the series. I say we sit and wait until Part 2 of the series and the finale for an explanation :)
@OnCloudNine62 It is Rory. Who else? LOL it can't be the Doctor. Just look up the episode online and watch it. A lot of people have already uploaded it.
@whattheheckification Just because she can regenerate doesn't mean she's immortal. I mean, the Doctor himself was killed in "Turn Left" and in "The Impossible Astronaut". I don't remember who said it, but someone said that if he's killed before he can regenerate, the Doctor (or any Time Lord/Lady) stays dead.
@whattheheckification 2 things: Time Lords have the ability to regenerate, but this does not mean they cannot die; and who says River really dies then? You'll notice her body was missing after all the missing people were uploaded from the central computer system of the Library. Maybe not so final after all?
when this video was aired there was 2 words, 2 words resonating in every mind, in every species, on every planet, throughout the entirety of time and space, 2 words. FUCKING, EPIC!
I felt the episode seemed rushed and should have been a two-part mid season finale. I was a bit disappointed at how it went but i absolutely love the River Song character. She is the best and has a great actress playing her that makes it even better!!!
@laur3ooo yes but we haven't seen the master for a while so to please the fans, he'll need to make another appearance -_- apparantley omega is coming back and i'd imagine the master is involved somehow
If River is the little girl, i wonder why it seems like she is seeing the silence and the space suit for the first time. If she was the one that broke out of the suit, wouldn't she have remembered it?
@jwest1892 well i think River foresaw this happening and repressed the memories by way of a Targeted Neuron Implosion, like when the Doctor regenerates, but causing her to lose that part of her memory. or her memories were in a time lock.
@jwest1892 thats exactly what i thought, but there's always a possibility that she had to pretend not to recognize anything so that a specific event (such as the doctor "dying") would still occur.
@jwest1892 At first i would of been like: Moffat will think of something up. But he's really becoming an ass now. he's sort of outstaying his welcome with the recent epsiodes and i still prefer him to RTD in so many ways that RTD just made the show boring and predictable and a drama where it wont take risks but in Day of the Moon, so much was crammed in it felt he was adding plot points in that he forgot and will do nothing with. the ep 7 cliffhanger was predicatble and dumber than the ep 6 one
River Song's story is being told backwards. When she was first introduced she was killed and put into that library. So as River's story goes on she'll eventually meet her younger self. Also Alex Kingston (River Song actor) knew the entire time that her character was the daughter of Amy and Rory. The director or executive producer i forget which tells the actors tidbits of information about their character without the others knowing. So essentially she knows the entire story.
@jwest1892 i wasn't aware that River WAS the little girl. i thought she was just Amy's daughter.
but if she IS the little girl, maybe she doesn't remember because she technically died in 10's time as the Doctor. so maybe it messed her up. or maybe, since the little girl appears to be a reincarnating time lord.......ohhhhhhh.
@jwest1892 I think she didn't give her knowledge away on purpose, after all, she's very good in keeping the "spoilers" as secrets and acting like she doesn't know anything.
@jwest1892 = shes reacting completely normal its called childhood trauma... if i was facing my childhood fears for the first time, and they were that bad and freaky !!!! i think i would have been running... doctor speed... lol ;)

@TheCalebxy Recorded - But get this , that technology wasn't around when David Tennant was the doctor yet by overnight he was getting 8 or more million - this is what you do not understand - Steven Moffat's got everything to advertise doctor who but you cannot say something is so amazing which actually isnt when you watch it - Russel T Davies' doctor who never let me down - not ever - and to me maybe that is the reason why ACTUALLY overnight Day of the Moon hit a shitter getting 5M ratings-
RegenerationStorm 6 months ago
@RegenerationStorm Exactly, because the technology wasn't around, people had to watch it. But when everyone can easily record it, they do (which is evident by the fact that The Impossible Astronaut broke the record for the most recorded program in British TV history). And in my opinion, Moffat's Who is a lot lot lot better than RTD's.
TheCalebxy 6 months ago
@TheCalebxy I think the whole recording attribute is just an extra, there is no escuse for doctor who to stoop so low - Britains got talent and X Factor dominate the ratings, yet they can also be recorded etc. The End of Time got 12M when David left , and the eleventh hour got 10M to see what Matt was like , which dropped incredibly by around 4M with the beast below - and the scripts are so complicated - people dont get it and switch over - thats why the shows getting 5-6 , next year itll be 3-4
RegenerationStorm 6 months ago
@RegenerationStorm No, The Beast Below did NOT get 4M. And the show is only getting 5-6M overnight. That's not the total ratings. The total for TIA was somewhere between 8-9M, and that's not including the 4M of recordings it got.
TheCalebxy 6 months ago
@TheCalebxy I cannot be bothered to discuss this with you - I didnt even say the beast below got 4M I said it fell by 4M compared to the eleventh hour and for god sake there is a reason - you cannot see it - the scripts are soap dramas, complicated - the monsters are recycled bullshit , I do not want to hear someone change my mind about the doctor who I grew up with and knowing - 1963-2009. I gave it a chance and the shows just spat in everyones faces - familys dont watch it -BBC just axe it PLZ
RegenerationStorm 6 months ago
@RegenerationStorm Most of the monsters in this series have been new. In fact, the only episode so far to feature old monsters has been episode 7. But if you don't want to discuss it, then that's ok.

@RegenerationStorm Sorry, 19 new monsters, not 20. :P
TheCalebxy 6 months ago
@TheCalebxy The Ratio of old and new monsters - compared to the RTD Era - looks shit in comparison - Series 1 , 8/13 were new , Series 2 9/13 were new , Series 3 10/13 were new , Series 4 8/13 were new , Specials 3/5 were new , Series 5 6/13 were new , Series 6 - from the trailers there are weeping angels daleks silence cybermen .... you know the old kind *zzzzzz*
RegenerationStorm 6 months ago
@RegenerationStorm Series 6: 9/13
TheCalebxy 6 months ago
@TheCalebxy Then the trailers have utterly failed to express that - and on average combined with Series 5 , it's not a very advertising amount of new monsters - we end up going backwards with the doctor all the damn time -.-
RegenerationStorm 6 months ago
@RegenerationStorm The Comic-Con trailer shows: Gibbis, A Cyberman, A minotaur, A Silent, A Cyberman, Weeping Angels, A Peg Doll, A Dummy, A Handbot, A Viking type thing, A Minotaur, A Silent, A Minotaur, Handbots, Gibbis, A Handbot, A Silent, A Minotaur, Cybermen and finally the Astronaut.
So it shows 12 new monsters and 8 reused monsters. Looks fine to me.
TheCalebxy 6 months ago
@TheCalebxy It was misleading - it repeatedly showed all of the old villains for my distaste. You obviously went through that really carefully to make out which monsters appeared where - wheras natrually on your first watch you can't do that - what I saw and always see is the same old recycled monsters flashing past , as if to look somewhat cool - well - according to ratings , unlikely [Colin Baker tone of voice there]
RegenerationStorm 6 months ago
@RegenerationStorm Well, the fact of the matter is, it showed more new monsters than old. And maybe you only noticed the old ones because you're actually familiar with them. When you see something you know, you think "I know that monster" but when you see something you don't know, it passes through your mind unnoticed.
TheCalebxy 6 months ago
@TheCalebxy Well it's beyond the point , there was so much use of time to show all of the old villains you can't really miss them - I know and can vision in my mind David Walliam's character , I know what a teradactyl looks like , they've done it in all of their finale trailers, they chuck in imagery of the old villains to win people over - well , the 5m that even saw what a Silence looked like LOL :D
RegenerationStorm 6 months ago
@RegenerationStorm *7.30M
And I don't get your point. The trailer showed more new monsters than old monsters, and it showed them more times.
TheCalebxy 6 months ago
@TheCalebxy Not from my memory of watching it back , and I watched it just now, I still see blunt cutting of every old villain brought back and that dissapoints me as a fan because I wanna see new monsters - sure they might do more new monsters but the trailer did not show that for me, :/
RegenerationStorm 6 months ago
@RegenerationStorm But it *did* show more new monsters than old.
TheCalebxy 6 months ago
@RegenerationStorm In fact, in the TV trailer for series 6 part 2, the only reused monsters it shows are a Silent, twice, and the Astronaut.
TheCalebxy 6 months ago
@TheCalebxy how many classic doctor who episodes have you watched may i ask?
dwho1994 6 months ago
@dwho1994 Two and a bit. The Tenth Planet, Earthshock, and some of The Invasion of the Dinosaurs. Why do you want to know, may I ask?
TheCalebxy 6 months ago
@TheCalebxy well it would help if you knew more about doctor who before you claim the new stuff is good, but judging by the way Moffat is treating the show he must think the less people know about doctor who history the better as he obviously couldn't careless about the fans
dwho1994 6 months ago
@dwho1994 Why do I have to have watched Classic Who to know if Nu Who is any good? You don't need to compare it with anything before you're allowed to say it has good stories, good acting, good special effects, etc.
TheCalebxy 6 months ago
@RegenerationStorm I was expecting a little bit more myself I thought there was going to be a big war and stuff but all the episode really did was build up to the reaveal of river song
Darkseeker109 6 months ago
@Darkseeker109 I think it was time filler to be frank - This story was just chucked in props and costumes in a skanky old warehouse - with spare humans to fill in as soldiers and monks - the story was pointless... rivers ending was the only thing that mattered and even that was completely predictable

In regards to who blew up the Tardis and was apprently trying to erase the universe ask yourself this: Who tried to erase the entire of creation before and didn't that voice inside the Tardis sound like someone we heard before? :)
LibraGamesUnlimited 7 months ago
@LibraGamesUnlimited what voice? i mean, what did it say? i don't remember.
masteraj57 7 months ago
@masteraj57 I don't really recall if it was you or someone else but I THINK they were refurring to the voice inside the TARDIS before it blew up. For some reason I assumed it was Davros and that he orginally said it in the episode when he stole all the planets and tried to erase everything.
I guess to make a long story short (too late) I was saying it was perhaps him either directly or something he did to the TARDIS during that story or something. :)
LibraGamesUnlimited 7 months ago
Jwest1892, likely River DOES remember but since she's playing things close to the chest and trying to protect the timeline she would pretend she didn't. Kinda the same reason she doesn't run up to Amy from day one and say "Oh hello mum" or something. :)
LibraGamesUnlimited 7 months ago
I2m still confused does River song loves the man she killed?
MrQuaFLe 7 months ago
A faint question that's bugged me about Series 5 and 6 has always been why do our Universes' Cybermen do not ressemble that of the head found in the glass cabinet that The Ninth Doctor found in the episode "Dalek"- in "The Age of Steel" The Tenth Doctor also commented on the severed head, commenting that our Universe's Cybermen WOULD look exactly like that should we ever see one. But apprently ours are parallel with no C.
RegenerationStorm 8 months ago
@RegenerationStorm Actually, in "The Age of Steel" he says "Yeah, there are cybermen in our universe too, they started on an ordinary planet just like this one, then swarmed across the galaxy". That's all he ever says of them. Anyway, their design changed almost every story, so it's not like changing the design is a new concept. Plus, the classic cybermen were rubbish. That will offend many people, but that is my opinon, and you cannot change it.
imjustchillinftw 8 months ago
@imjustchillinftw I respect your views on the cybermen as a fan, but Rose adresses to the tenth doctor in the Age of steel about where that particular cyberman was- the cabinet in the museum, its on footage - it was a Revenge of the Cybermen head. I know weather its budget cuts or plain cant be bothered that the Mondas Cybermen havent returned -but I wish just for continuity reasons Moffat stuck to his guns and included that version in The Pandorica Opens and A Good Man Goes To War. :/
RegenerationStorm 7 months ago
@RegenerationStorm Very true, but the Cybermen did evolve their design throughout their existence, and they did split into different factions (so the museum head may just be from a dfferent faction). The cybermen in "A Good Man Goes To War" are Mondasian (they removed the logo). I tend to ignore "The Pandorica Opens". That episode was just one massive continuity error. I think the cybermen are a special case, seeing as their design has changed so much, that we are meant to ignore their design
imjustchillinftw 7 months ago
@RegenerationStorm Basically what we really need is a good, proper 2 episode cyber-story. Exclusively about the mondasian cybermen. That may hopefully clear things up :)

@imjustchillinftw Agreed :)

Blueknightex 8 months ago
@Blueknightex she calls her "ma'am", not "mum", seeing is she is Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth X, you'd give her some respect, even if she is sitting on the floor pointing a gun at you, and even if you are River Song holding a painting of the TARDIS blowing up :)
imjustchillinftw 8 months ago
@imjustchillinftw oh I see. My bad then xD I'm still shocked that she is Amy's daughter. This is confusing x-/
Blueknightex 8 months ago
@Blueknightex Not for me. I'm curious as to how the SIlence managed to take control of the TARDIS and blow it up, there must be some Time Lord involvement (possibly Omega or The Rani). Also, I hope Moffat explains why on this occasion blowing up the TARDIS would erase history, because that has been threatened countless times throughout the show's history, with the Doctor never showing any concern for universal erasion (if that's a word). Also, the Daleks destroyed many TARDISes in the Time War
imjustchillinftw 8 months ago
@imjustchillinftw Hey i think part of the reason it took the universe with it was because thats what whoever blew it up wanted:) like i dont think they always do but in that case it was designed to if that makes sense i think he says something about it in the big bang:)
TheDanTooker 8 months ago
@TheDanTooker I agree, but I hope that it's explicitly explained, so as to avoid confusion. :)
imjustchillinftw 8 months ago
@imjustchillinftw Yeahh, your right there :) like there was a lot of confusion about rory whether he was still plastic or not :)
TheDanTooker 7 months ago
@imjustchillinftw WHo says the Silence blew up the Tardis?
TheCalebxy 8 months ago
@TheCalebxy Well, i think that's what's implied, they must have some conection to it, because they always said "the universe is cracked. the pandorica will open. silence will fall." My theory is that te Silence were charged with protecting the little girl (possibly River), and turning her into a weapon, by Korvarian and her army, who is being guided/assisted by the Rani, who is working for Omega. He originally gave the Silence the means to destroy the tardis (cont. on next comment)
imjustchillinftw 8 months ago
@imjustchillinftw and a way in which to make it erase the universe, as a revenge attack on this universe (coz he is trapped in his own antimatter universe, so would be unharmed). This initial plan failed, so he designed the plan to turn River into a weapon to destroy the Doctor, which would open the way for an invasion or something like that. Also, the Silence were placed on earth as a tool for Omega/The Rani. Just a THEORY :)
imjustchillinftw 8 months ago
@imjustchillinftw They didn't say that. Prisoner Zero did.
TheCalebxy 7 months ago
@TheCalebxy By "they" i meant that characters in general said that (or variations thereof). There was also the disembodied voice in the TARDIS in Pandorica Opens, and the constant references throughout the series. I say we sit and wait until Part 2 of the series and the finale for an explanation :)
imjustchillinftw 7 months ago
@imjustchillinftw I'm pretty sure "Silence will fall" was only said twice in series 5. Once by Prisoner Zero and once by the voice in the Tardis.

How is it that River can regenerate, and she died in the first episode she was in?
whattheheckification 8 months ago
@whattheheckification Just because she can regenerate doesn't mean she's immortal. I mean, the Doctor himself was killed in "Turn Left" and in "The Impossible Astronaut". I don't remember who said it, but someone said that if he's killed before he can regenerate, the Doctor (or any Time Lord/Lady) stays dead.
Pythosblaze 8 months ago
@whattheheckification 2 things: Time Lords have the ability to regenerate, but this does not mean they cannot die; and who says River really dies then? You'll notice her body was missing after all the missing people were uploaded from the central computer system of the Library. Maybe not so final after all?

itsnickyx 7 months ago
@jwest1892 At first i would of been like: Moffat will think of something up. But he's really becoming an ass now. he's sort of outstaying his welcome with the recent epsiodes and i still prefer him to RTD in so many ways that RTD just made the show boring and predictable and a drama where it wont take risks but in Day of the Moon, so much was crammed in it felt he was adding plot points in that he forgot and will do nothing with. the ep 7 cliffhanger was predicatble and dumber than the ep 6 one
Smallvillenerd 7 months ago
@jwest1892
So essentially she knows the entire story.
petthelopez 7 months ago
@jwest1892 i wasn't aware that River WAS the little girl. i thought she was just Amy's daughter.
but if she IS the little girl, maybe she doesn't remember because she technically died in 10's time as the Doctor. so maybe it messed her up. or maybe, since the little girl appears to be a reincarnating time lord.......ohhhhhhh.
