ESPN haven't just screwed up the broadcast lineup for stock car races, they also can't assemble a quality crew for the IZOD IndyCar races. Jamie Little and Rick DeBruhl know what they're doing, but why do we have to tolerate Marty Reid (he has a thing for Milkmaid; why so many mentions for a backmarker?) and Scott Goodyear, and Vince Welch in the pits?
In the 90s, ESPN's crew for both IndyCar and Winston Cup were top notch. What the hell happened?

Having a pit reporter on the booth calling the action is almost always a bad idea no doubt. BTW, Vince Welch also messes-up alot as a pit-reporter, not just as a commentator.

If they want good commentaters in the booth they should have Alan Bestwick, Wally Dallenbach, and either of the Waltrips. NASCAR should mandate those three (or four maybe) for all Cup and Nationwide events. Keep the the same crew for the Trucks though, they usually do a great job ;) they would be alot better than Sail, Right Now, and opportunity.

Well... a recent study recently revealed that watching one minute of Nascar on ESPN does the same amount of damage to your mind as hitting yourself in the f***ing face with a sledgehammer. So you can see why I only subject myself to such a harmful telecast for Cup races, and even then I mute it.
