I'm reading all your comments and feel the pain; yes the video might be over 1 yr old but the situation is true! Keep the comments coming, the IRS needs to know that the public needs to be informed about what is going on. I'm in the business & have clients that are having the same problems, I tell them to call, write....maybe someone should call a local news station & have them run a piece...maybe then the IRS will respond & get back on nat'l tv and update the public like they did last month.
We filed on the 4th of February 2012. We were told it would be here 7-10 days from the 4th because we stupidly paid 200 bucks to get the check within two weeks! It is now February 21st and still no check! Getting worried.
This is beyond ridiculous no information people blaming tax preparers for this when its the IRS mess up. And you think they would update their site. I thought maybe my bank was holding off accepting the direct deposit but no its the IRS and they keep posting how you shouldnt depend on your refund to cover expenses..are they living in the same country as many of us who have bills to pay? The nerve of them its funny when a person is up for audit there systems are not slow.
well good to know im not the only one geting fucked here. e-filed on the 31st of last month thinking hey id see it this friday. then my mom who works for a tax firm told me about how they changed the dates from fridays to deposit peoples checks to wensdays so im think hey cool ill get it earlier. was sapose to get it on the 14th and well nothing checked the status kept saying the 14th i called said the samething untell about 30 mins ago now it hasnt even been proccesed yet
In my case I just filed my taxes first week of feb. I used turbotax and my state and federal was accepted 2 days after. It has been a week and my federal refund date is still unknown. And I e-file as well.
Your refund may be delayed. The IRS has implemented new e-file software for the 2012 filing season. The fact that the IRS did not start even open 1-17-2012 and that the new "Modernized E-File" system has a few bugs, most tax returns filed prior to today are taking an additonal 1-2 weeks. If you get a msg from IRS.gov that there is no record of your return, u are likely affected by the delay. H&R Block is on top of the status of this delay, contact them for up to date info!
BTW, I am an employee of HR Block and am responsible for keeping my employees up to date on the status of this delay. You may also find additional information on the IRS website. This "delay" has resulted in some extremely upset clients and MANY frustrated tax preparers. Once the bugs are worked out of the system, it will likely speed up processing time and result in refunds being funded by the IRS is as little as 8 days. So, all, please be patient and don't blame your tax pro!
@jtvirg1419 i called my tax pro at hr block and she sounded very irratated.. its been a bit over 2 weeks and she said theres no information on my return, that they have it but no RAC yet.
@jtvirg1419 whats the delay... my tax pro said they have my tax return so wth is the delay about.. sending the money to the HR Block bank or what... srry im not mad im just confussed. i know its the IRS so dont take my question as a brow beating
What the hell is so different this year from every other year??!?!?!?? Need time to 'adjust' to changes MY ASS! This isn't the first year there have been changes to the tax laws. Oh, these bastards will come knocking on your door if you're late paying your taxes but when it comes to a refund they think they can just take their sweet ass time. FUCKERS

an the answer would b yes...yep they fucked everyone 2012 i just called h@r block an the irs has delayed payments for a unspecified date...fucking liberal puckers
@MegaTrolleater The delay is in processing the returns through the new efile system. The influx of returns bogged down the system and the IRS got backlogged with returns. Approximately a week ago, the IRS reverted back to the old efile system, often referred to as "legacy" processing.
@jtvirg1419 So instead of the IRS receiving and acknowledging return instantly (via the new system) it's taking appox 24-48 hours for them to acknowledge your return. So people filing now are seeing their refunds in the original 8-14 days. Everyone else is still screwed. Refunds are taking up to 2 weeks longer than normal. Mine took almost a month!
The IRS normally sends refunds down once a week. We are seeing them coming down 3-4 times a week currently. They are also updating their "Where's My Refund?" site daily which is an improvement because they used to update once a week. Keep checking IRS.gov for new info. And, make sure when you are entering your refund amount, you are putting in your "FULL REFUND' before any preparation or bank fees. Some of my clients have been checking their status with the wrong refund amount
